Just as Leo was about to leave out of boredom, the Star of Leah in his hand suddenly vibrated, as if indicating something.
Leo was startled. Could the clue to the treasure be related to this stone slab?
He looked at the stone slab in front of him. Although he was itching with curiosity, he didn’t dare to act rashly.
There were hundreds of devout monks, nuns, and believers here. If he were to break this stone slab into pieces, they would probably all come at him with their lives on the line.
Thinking of this, Leo reluctantly shook his head and walked back the way he came.
It seemed he would have to call House Lessane back at night.
Night fell quickly, and the evening was cool like water.
However, in the luxurious suite of the Hilton Hotel, there was no trace of coolness thanks to the air conditioning.
Leo sat on the sofa, legs crossed, leisurely sipping red wine from his glass, enjoying the life that only the wealthy could afford.
At that moment, a strange force opened the window of the room, and six bats flew in one by one.
The six bats landed and transformed into six people dressed in black robes.
These six were Prince Devon, Elder Archibald, Duke Angus, Duke Aubrey, Duke Barlow, and Duke Barnett of House Lessane.
“Master!” The six vampires stood before Leo and bowed simultaneously.
Leo glanced at them and asked indifferently, “Where’s the other Duke?”
“Duke Ashburn is guarding the headquarters,” Devon replied respectfully.
Leo placed his wine glass on the coffee table and stood up. “I’ve found the first clue. Let’s move out!”
“Yes, Master!” The vampires responded in unison, their faces showing anticipation.
As night deepened, the Holy Sepulchre Church was already closed. In the silence, only the lights stubbornly remained on.
By the back wall of the Holy Sepulchre Church, seven shadows appeared at some point.
It was Leo and Prince Devon with their group.
Prince Devon felt a sudden unease and asked in a low voice, “Master, is the clue you mentioned inside the Holy Sepulchre Church?”
“Yes. Is there a problem?” Leo was puzzled by Devon’s uneasy expression.
“There are many relics left by Jesus inside the Holy Sepulchre Church that can greatly harm us vampires. I’m worried…”
Leo smiled. “With me here, there’s no need to worry.”
Thinking of Leo’s strength, Prince Devon and the Dukes felt much more at ease.
“Follow me,” Leo said as he leaped over the tall wall and entered the Holy Sepulchre Church.
The vampires transformed into bats that blended with the darkness and followed Leo.
Having done his homework during the day, Leo quickly led the bats into the chapel.
The chapel was unlit except for a few long candles burning dimly.
At the altar in front, the stone slab marking Jesus’ crucifixion lay quietly.
The bats behind Leo transformed back into their human forms.
Seeing the religious murals around them, the vampires’ eyes were filled with fear and disgust.
Leo pointed at the stone slab ahead and said, “The clue should be beneath that stone slab.”
Elder Archibald asked curiously, “Master, it doesn’t make sense. Why would the Jews hide a clue to their treasure in a Christian holy site?”
“That I don’t know. The Star of Leah indicates that the clue is here. Move that stone slab,” Leo instructed.
“Yes.” Prince Devon signaled for Aubrey and Duke Barlow to step forward.
Aubrey and Duke Barlow cautiously approached, extremely vigilant against any sudden changes around them.
When they were three meters from the stone slab, it suddenly trembled and emitted a strong holy light.
The holy light shone on Aubrey and Duke Barlow, causing white smoke to rise from their bodies.
They screamed in pain and quickly retreated.
The other vampires were terrified by this unexpected turn of events. They hadn’t expected such a powerful holy force from what seemed like an ordinary stone slab.
Leo was also surprised that the unassuming stone slab would actively attack vampires.
Outside, noises indicated that the commotion had alerted the monks inside the church.
Being in enemy territory made the vampires anxious as they looked to Leo for guidance.
Without hesitation, Leo quickly approached the stone slab. He squatted down and lifted it effortlessly since it didn’t attack humans.
Beneath the slab lay an ancient golden Star of David.
Leo held up the stone slab with one hand and grabbed the Star of David with the other, pocketing it before lowering the slab back down.
Just as he did so, someone opened the church doors from outside.
Clearly, the monks had come in response to the disturbance.
“Get out as fast as you can! Go!” Leo ordered as he dashed out of the church like a shadow, catching the monks off guard.
The vampires transformed into bats and followed closely behind.
By the time Leo and the vampires reached the courtyard, the monks finally reacted.
“It’s those vile vampires! Destroy them!” one monk shouted.
Leo didn’t want a confrontation here. He used a talisman to transform into a fiery meteor shooting into the sky. The vampires spread their wings and flew away swiftly.
Countless beams of holy light shot up from below like swords but were too late. Leo and his vampires had already gone far away, with only the beautiful holy light seemingly bidding them farewell.
Without stopping midway, Leo and his vampires rushed back to their suite at the Hilton Hotel before finally relaxing.
Outside, police sirens wailed loudly as numerous police cars headed to the scene.
Leo exhaled deeply. In such a holy city, there were undoubtedly many skilled individuals from various sects. Getting entangled with them would be troublesome.
“Take a seat. There’s wine in the cabinet. Help yourselves,” Leo said as he pointed to the wine cabinet and sat down.
“Thank you, Master.” The vampires happily grabbed bottles of wine and started drinking.
Leo took out the golden Star of David and examined it carefully.
According to Adrian’s old man, Rothschild ancestors had moved the treasure. He didn’t know its exact location either.
It seemed that this Star of David held another clue.
After several minutes of inspection, Leo found nothing unusual about it.
Could the secret be inside?
Frowning slightly, Leo began probing into the Star of David with his spiritual sense.
