Chapter 26
Dmitri
The world had stopped moving around us and it was just her standing before me, no one else. Her eyes glimmered with tears and her lips quivered, but she managed to keep her emotions in check by not bursting into tears.
Her lips stretched into a small smile and she waved at Margaret whom I intentionally avoided her gaze. I shouldn’t have fallen for her charms, but after everything that I’d gone through yesterday I couldn’t help it.
“I’m so sorry to barge into your lovemaking session. It was rude of me,” She chuckled, but the nervousness in her voice was very audible and for some reason, I felt guilty. “I promise that no one will hear about this,” She made a zip lock sign and turned around to leave.
I tried to follow her but Margaret reached for my wrist and stopped me. I knew what would come next and I didn’t like it, but I wasn’t fast enough to stop her.
“Wait! Aren’t you Ariel?” Margaret asked.
Ariel’s body went taut instantly and she spared her a backward glance. “Yes, I am,” She answered coldly. “How do you know my name?”
“Because I’m his mistress and I’ve been wanting to meet the woman who was bold enough to snatch my man from me. How do you cope knowing that he’ll never be yours?” Margaret asked with a sly grin.
My lips curled in dismay because she was only making things worse. Ariel might not be able to call off the marriage since it was permitted in our world for me to have more than one woman, but I doubted our marriage would ever be the same.
But when I did I began to care about her feelings? I should have walked away the moment she saw me, but here I was trying to defend myself.
“Shut up, Margaret. I don’t belong to anyone, not even you. Don’t get ahead of yourself,” I warned her. “Just dress up and leave. I have to speak with my wife,”
Her eyes narrowed into slits at the tone of my voice and she fixed a puzzled stare at me. “What are you saying? You’re treating me like trash because your wife is here?”
Impatience ate at my guts. “I won’t repeat myself,”
She got the memo and began to search for the remnant of her clothes that were tossed carelessly in the heat of passion. After putting on her clothes, she veered toward the door and brushed Ariel aside.
“Remember our deal, though. You don’t have to act all macho just because your pretty wife is here,” She snorted and disappeared into the hallway.
Talking about Ariel being pretty, she wasn’t just that, she was gorgeous. I’d always seen her in casual outfits, but seeing her in such a skimpy dress that revealed everything she was supposed to keep private provoked a primal urge in me.
“Why did you come here?” I asked when the silence became awkward.
She giggled and leaned against the wall, stretching her creamy thighs forward. Those hot legs that my fingers itched to run through and explore what was hidden between them. Even my lower member twitched at the thought.
“I came here to have fun just like you’re doing, my only regret is that I didn’t get laid,” She replied casually.
Jealousy soared through me and I began to imagine how I’d torture anyone who dared to lay a finger on her. She was mine alone.
“And Fedor, why didn’t he tell me that you were coming here? Do you know how dangerous this place is? You’re looking so hot and any man can decide to take advantage of you,”
I didn’t mean to tell her that she was hot but my mouth was currently working faster than my brain.
She smirked and came closer to me. “Oh, so you realize I’m hot? Funny how other men knew that before you. Anyway, we didn’t come here with Fedor because we didn’t need him,”
“We?”
“Guilia and I. We just wanted to leave the cage you put us in and we found ourselves here and thank God I saw you. At least I know the reason why you’re so comfortable without touching me and truly, I don’t care,” She made to leave again and her finger stopped on the doorknob. “I’m going home now. You’ve ruined the day for me anyway, and don’t try to stop me or I’ll just look for someone to give me a good fuck,”
The way she mentioned having sex nonchalantly with other men annoyed me deeply. I wanted to be the only one to touch her in places the sun doesn’t shine on, and make her scream so loud that everyone would I was with her. I wanted to be the only man she’d ever know.
I thought she had learned her lesson after what I did with Freud or hadn’t she realized that I’d castrate any man that came within ten meters close to her?
She’d barely taken ten steps forward when I lurched at her and pinned her against the wall, my hands forming a cage on her sides. Her nose rose in a flare and she trained a deep glare at me, but I liked that she didn’t make another effort to leave.
“I thought I asked you not to follow me,” She rasped, her tone portraying her anger.
“Did you dress up like this to annoy me?” I dropped one of my hands on her shoulder and leaned closer, enjoying how she shifted uncomfortably and the light shudder of her body.
She pressed her lips and blinked hard. “I didn’t even know you’d be here, but if my dress annoyed you, then I’m glad,” She snickered.
I chuckled and allowed my fingers to trail down her upper cleavage, forming small circles that made her shiver again. “What if it did more than just annoy me?”
Her throat bobbed as she gulped and she lowered her lashes, biting her lips innocently. However, my body didn’t register the act as innocent, instead, I felt the urge to take off my mask and kiss her passionately.
She’d managed to arouse the feelings that I buried after Anya died and I hated it. I shouldn’t disrespect Anya like that.
“We have to go or wasn’t the sex with your mistress enough?” She scowled, rolling her eyes and I noticed something more flabbergasting.
She was jealous.
