35- Almost caught

Book:Mavana; The Silver Omega Published:2024-11-6

Luna Lorienta jolted up, pushing the young man away without looking at the intruder. She rushed towards her underwear and dress, grabbing them onto herself before carefully raising her gaze to see who it was.
” Erica!” She muttered with a furrowed brow, her face pale with confusion, unconcerned about being caught by her maid.
Her mind was completely focused on Erica’s business in the apartment.
Seeing Luna Lorienta’s confused and questioning expression, Erica pushed all of her emotions aside and composed herself to avoid suspicion.
“I was coming down here to deliver a message to… umm…” Her voice kiboshed She inhaled sharply and tapped her feet at the same moment, then parted her lips to speak again.
“One of the Elders sent me; he required the Gardener’s presence at his residence.” Gazing at the young man lying on the bed, she said. He bowed his head, fidgeting in total humiliation at realizing that Erica was staring at him.
Luna Lorienta tipped her head to the side, her tongue flicking against her teeth as she struggled with believing or not.
“Did you see something?” She inquired, a mischievous grin creeping across her lips.
“Certainly not, Luna Lorienta.” She bowed while cussing silently.
“Your presence is required by the Tilling Elder,” she told the gardener before leaving. The gardener extended his hand forward, ready to speak, but he stopped himself and covered his eyes with his hands, embarrassed.
“Let us get back to business; she can not tell anyone.” Luna Lorienta smiled, took off her clothes, and moved closer to the Gardener, who had already stood on his feet.
His face was squeezed up in disgust. “You are from a noble family and the Luna of our pack; I should have associated with you.” The Gardener muttered as he walked away from her, his chest heaving heavily as if he had committed an offense.
“So, what do you mean? We were just about to fuck not long ago,” Luna Lorienta explained, unsure of what caused the abrupt change.
“Even though we were caught by my maid, I had the right to shut her up, which I did.” She continued, her eyes squinting in amazement.
The gardener sucked in his breath and folded his fist tightly, “Can you please leave?” He inquired in hushed tones and moved towards the door.
He pulled the door open and gestured for her to leave.
“What the heck do you think you are doing?” Luna Lorienta screamed, her face flushed with humiliation and anger. His recent actions heightened her suspicions, but she maintained her self-denial.
“I am doing the best I can think of right now, and you only think about yourself. Do you think I still have feelings for you? I only agreed to have sex with you because of your pitiful state when you entered.”
“You only cared about your lust, without considering whether I already have a second chance mate or not.” He hollered, and his right hand flew to his hair, ruffling it in fury.
His outburst confirmed Luna Lorienta’s suspicions: Her slightly parted lips gave way to a sly chuckle.
“So, this is what it is all about, right? You now have a mate. Wow!!” She smirked, attempting to conceal her anger and jealousy. She took three steps towards him and looked up.
Without warning, she smacked him across the face, causing his other hand to leave the door and hold his cheeks. In complete confusion, he batted an eyelash.
“Did you just…?” She interrupted him with another smack, and he staggered backward in confusion, his gaze fixed on her.
“Oh!! You believe that because I came here to satisfy myself, you now have the right to speak back to me and refuse my requests? I am still the one keeping you alive, stupid Gardener, who was overjoyed when the ex-Beta’s daughter mated with him. I should have allowed Alpha Carlos to kill you the moment I became his Luna.”
Her face contorted into a fierce scowl, and she fixed a piercing glare on the stunned man standing before her.
The room fell silent as tension echoed throughout, as he backed away from her and dashed outside.
“I should have known better,” he said under his breath.
“Someone who can cheat on the Alpha, her husband will not hesitate to destroy or demean anyone.” His voice was filled with rage as he disappeared through the second entrance.
Luna Lorienta’s rage had boiled over. She kicked the door, the sound reverberating throughout the room, and clenched her fists.
“I need to know that stupid friend of his,” she sneered.
“I can not lose him like that, and if I do, it should be in the cold hands of death. His fate should be mine to decide.”
She walked back to her clothes and picked them up. She put on her underwear and dress, stepped into her shoes, twisted the doorknob with force, and walked out of the room. She went to the second entrance and opened the door. She stepped out a foot and looked around to make sure no one was nearby before fully stepping outside.
She walked quickly across the dark hallway, her mind focused on the line, praying that no one was watching.
Finally reaching the main passage, she took a deep breath and relaxed her muscles before picking up her pace until she arrived at her room.
Three maids rushed towards her, their eyes full of fear and worry. They all went to their knees at the same time, blocking her path with their irrational actions.
She furrowed her brow, taking a step back as her expression darkened.
” What’s the problem? ” She demanded, her lips curling in disgust.
” We’ve been trying to reach you but… ” The first maid’s voice cracked, her eyes darting nervously
” We had to report to the Alpha” She added, moving backward with her knees.
” So, what? “Get your filthy asses out of my view and call me Erica,” she yelled.
She shoved past them, storming into her room. The door slammed shut behind her with a load of unsettling emotions.
She hit her back against the door and slid downward.
“This is sick!” She ruffled her hair with a perplexing expression.
