The elders and pack members were all bewildered and the pack was in total disarray. The Alpha’s mother ran to her son, who was being carried by his guards into the pack house.
Everyone was discarded right away, leaving the pack house peak empty.
The elders summoned themselves to the meeting room and invited the Alpha’s mother and Beta.
“You are summoned into the meeting room, ma.” A guard exited the room with a bow, leaving the Alpha’s mother perplexed and angry. She stormed into the meeting room and opened the door with a bang.
“Are you people this evil? My Son, No, The Alpha is receiving care in that room. Rather than asking for prayers for his recovery, you folks should ask God to heal him. The next item on the agenda is to call a meeting. I am so disappointed in you,” she exclaimed, shaking her head in pity.
The civil elder was the first to speak, standing up on his feet with a smile, “The Alpha is sick, and as everyone knows, this pack is too powerful for an incomplete Alpha to rule. We can not keep following the trend like blind people; we need an explanation about his health status.” He uttered, attempting to remain calm and not reveal all his emotions. Out of all the Elders, he has always been the more powerful and rebellious one.
When Beta Frank whispered into the Alpha’s mother’s ear, “It is obvious that he has a hidden agenda which he is hiding under the fact that a sick Alpha should not rule,” the anger the Alpha had been holding inside burst out.
“Erling, you are so blatantly insolent. The next thing you should have done was to find a way to help Alpha recover, but instead, you called a meeting with all these foolish elders, which I am positive will end in your death. If anything happens to my son, I will make sure to find every one of you, along with your families.” The Alpha’s mother threatened and was about to walk out of the meeting room
“I bet my life that your son will be dethroned as the Alpha if you leave this room.” The Relation Elder said assertively, and the Alpha’s mother calmed down. She did not want to be the reason her son was dethroned, so she took a seat far away from the meeting table and sat.
Beta Frank looked over at the Relation Elder before speaking, “The Alpha dethronement is no longer in the hands of the elders. The new law stated that no Alpha shall be dethroned again. It is an embarrassment to our pack, and on what grounds did you want to dethrone him, if it was permitted?” This question silenced the room, much like a graveyard.
Tension rose in the room as the other elders who were present but not participating demanded answers. “And it was the same law that stated, ‘Any leader who does not follow the agreement of the cabinet members will be dethroned if a problem arises.’ ” The civil elder read aloud.
“That statement was about you Elders. An Alpha is not a leader, but the King and he has the right to remain on the throne until he dies.” Beta Frank replied, The elders felt humiliated and angry as the tension in the room increased.
“I do not care if you accuse me of a crime, but all I can say is that this meeting will take place again when the Alpha is healthy.” He added, gesturing to the Alpha’s mother, that they should leave.
As soon as they left, the elders excused themselves one by one, leaving only the civil elder and the other elders involved in the same plan.
“I can not take that disrespect, and I will not tolerate any nonsense from anyone.” The Relation Elder walked out in a huff.

“You did not have to respond that way. They will become enraged and try to find a way to…” Her statement was cut short when the royal doctor exited the room with a cheerful expression.
Alpha’s mother rushed up to him and bombarded him with questions: “Take a chill pill, He is fine now.” The royal doctor responded, causing the Alpha mother to breathe deeply and relax with a smile on her face.
“What triggered the slump? I hope there is no issue.” Beta Frank inquired, remaining skeptical of the royal doctor’s response.
“Let us go inside,” he muttered, walking back into the room with them.
“Has he ever been poisoned?” The Royal Doctor inquired as soon as they closed the door.
“Yes, it was around that time that he lost his father, and the fight that prompted the deal we made with Crest Pack,” The Alpha’s mother explained.
The Royal doctor let out a heavy sigh as he broke the news: “The poison is bad for his body, and the poison given to him then was an everlasting one.”
The room instantly went dark, the air became heavy with sadness, and the silence was oppressive; the only sounds heard were their ragged breathing.
“Does that mean I could die at any time?” The dark question from Alpha Damian threw everyone into a world of thought.
**********
The prisoners and maids were acting as if the Alpha’s situation did not matter; they had been taught to have no feelings for the royals because they were nothing.
A resounding slap landed on Mavana’s cheeks, nearly sending her off balance, before she could look up to see who it was. Another slap landed on her second cheek, throwing her off balance. Her buttocks struck the ground with force. A cracking sound emerged, followed by her whimper.
She was not allowed to raise her head as a kick was delivered to her stomach. Her stomach tightened and she closed her eyes, attempting to withstand the torture.
“You should not be sleeping at this time, Rogue.” The voice was filled with disgust. Mavana raised her head to see who it was, but it was not someone she knew.
“I am not a rogue,” Mavana was about to say when a voice inside her head yelled, “Do not be so stupid.”
” Wolf!!” She exclaimed, ignoring the lady in front of her who was ranting.
” You want to get yourself in more trouble, right? “Keep quiet and let them do whatever they want,” Karina advised before going silent. Sweat trickled down her forehead, and her fists tightened as she tried to keep herself from reacting.
“What the hell are you doing? You were asked to take her to the torture room rather than torturing her on your own; you are in no better place than her.” A manly voice came up, prompting the lady to bow and move away from Mavana. The elder was in charge of the pack’s agricultural and land-tilling activities.
