Andrew’s phone beeped, and he hastily pulled it out of his jeans pocket, his heart pounding as he stared at the lock screen. A notification from Mike flashed, and Andrew prayed for good news. He couldn’t bear this torture any longer. The agony of watching that bastard hurt his Sunshine was eating him alive.
As he read the message, his eyes lit up, and a smirk spread across his face. Chloe and Dan stared at him, confused.
Mike: We found Zia.
He tossed the phone onto the bed and looked at Dan, his expression darkening. With a cold determination, he started loosening his belt.
“I’m ready to hurt,” he growled, pulling the belt free from his jeans and shouting, “You!” He lashed out at Dan with the belt, his rage taking over.
Andrew didn’t let Dan speak as he struck him repeatedly, venting all his fury. His voice roared with each strike. “You bastard, you hurt my Sunshine and you threatened the Mafia Boss. I trusted you all these years, and this is how you repay me? Now, I’ll show you what happens to those who betray the Mafia Boss and hurt his Sunshine. You’re going to suffer until your last breath, you worthless piece of trash. I’ll avenge every tear she shed.”
Chloe watched in satisfaction as Dan writhed in pain. But as soon as she remembered her aunt, her stomach dropped. She rushed to stop Andrew, unaware that Mike had already found Zia.
“What are you doing, Andrew? Stop.” She grabbed him from behind.
Andrew paused before turning to her with a softer expression. “Sunshine, it’s over. You don’t have to follow this bastard’s orders anymore. You’re finally free. He can’t threaten us again. Mike has found Zia.”
Chloe’s eyes lit up with happiness, and a smile of pure relief spread across her face. She had been yearning to hear this good news for so long. Andrew’s lips curled into a contented smile as well.
“I knew it. I knew this would end soon,” she whispered, tears of joy streaming down her cheeks. “I’m so happy it’s finally over.”
“Yes, it’s over.” Andrew leaned down and kissed her forehead, both of them feeling a weight lift off their shoulders. Dan continued to cry in pain, lying helpless on the floor.
“Here, take this.” Andrew handed Chloe the belt. “He’s your culprit. Punish him. Take out all your anger on him.”
Chloe grabbed the belt, glaring at Dan. “Now it’s your turn, asshole. I’ll make you regret ever messing with a girl like me.” Her voice dripped with fury as she began striking him with the belt, each blow fueled by her memories of the hell he had put her through. Dan had welted her, treated her like she was nothing, and tormented her both physically and mentally.
Andrew settled comfortably on the sofa, watching with satisfaction as Chloe unleashed her rage. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it, taking a long drag, his eyes never leaving Dan’s suffering. This was the moment he had waited for.
“I’ll fucking kill you, you bastard!” Chloe screamed, the belt lashing down again and again. Dan’s screams filled the room, but they only gave Chloe and Andrew more relief, more satisfaction.
Suddenly, Andrew’s phone rang. He stood up and walked over to the bed, picking it up.
“Hello?” he answered.
“Boss, did you read all my messages?” Mike asked from the other side.
“Let me check.” Andrew quickly opened the messages.
His breath caught in his throat, and his eyes widened in shock as he read the other messages.
Mike: But we found her dead.
Mike: Boss, Dan was playing us the entire time.
Without thinking, Andrew pulled out his gun and shot Dan in the middle of his forehead. Its sound reverberated through the room. Chloe stood frozen, her eyes wide in shock.
“Why did you kill him, Andrew?” She asked, her voice trembling. “We were supposed to make him suffer more. What happened?”
Andrew clenched his fists, squeezing his eyes shut as tears streamed down his face. His silence was unbearable, and Chloe’s anxiety spiked as she grabbed his arm, shaking him.
“Say something, Andrew! What happened? You’re scaring me.” she cried, her voice cracking.
He slowly opened his eyes, his voice trembling as he finally spoke. “Your… your aunt is no more.”
Chloe’s face drained of colour, and she staggered back, her tears falling freely. “You’re joking, right?” she whispered in disbelief, her body shaking.
Andrew shook his head, his voice hardly audible. “I’m sorry.”
“No… this can’t be real. You’re lying. I did everything he asked, so why did he kill her?” She screamed, her pain turning into rage.
She stormed over to Dan’s lifeless body and knelt beside him, grabbing his collar. “Tell me why. Tell me why you killed her!” She screamed, her tears falling uncontrollably.
“Answer me, you bastard!” She yelled, punching his chest, though she knew he couldn’t respond. Her sobs grew louder, her heart was shattered.
Andrew knelt beside her, pulling her into his arms as she collapsed in grief. “Andrew, she was my everything. She made me who I am today. She was my strength. She died because of me, and I’ll never forgive myself.” Chloe wept into his chest, her body trembling with sorrow as memories of her aunt flooded her mind.
Andrew’s tears mixed with hers as he held her tightly, wishing he could’ve saved her from this pain. Neither of them had expected it to end like this.
