Part: 37 His Dreadful Past

Book:Mafia's Badass Girl Published:2024-11-6

Chloe and Andrew were sitting on the edge of the yacht. She was nestled between his legs, her head resting on his chest, listening to his soothing heartbeat as she traced the words “I love you” with her finger on his thigh. She was wearing his shirt, as usual, and he was in shorts. They both had contented smiles on their faces.
He clasped her face gently and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. She smiled contentedly, feeling the warmth of his lips.
“I love you, Sunshine,” he murmured, gazing into her eyes intensely.
“I love you more,” she replied, pecking his lips before placing her head back on his chest to hear his soul-soothing heartbeat.
“You’ll never leave me… right?” he asked in a meek voice, and she shook her head in disbelief.
“If you ask me that one more time, I’m gonna kick your ass so hard that you’ll forget where the sunrise is,” she warned him in a stern tone.
He chuckled at her badass attitude. She glared at him in mock anger.
“Just tell me what’s really bothering you. Please,” she implored, entwining her hand with his and once again resting her head on his chest. She knew him so well; she could tell something was really bothering him, which was why he kept asking her the same question. He just stared at her mutely.
After a long silence, he took a deep breath and tightened his hold around her waist.
“Actually, I’m scared to lose you because of my past.” As he mentioned his past, she raised her head from his chest and looked at him.
“Please, tell me. I know it’s disturbing you,” she requested, placing her hand on his face. He looked at her like a vulnerable small child; nobody would guess he was the same Mafia boss who tortured people to extract the truth.
“My mom and dad were secret agents. You know, I had a little sister too.” A smile flashed across his face as he recalled his family.
But instantly, his lips drew down in despair, and he uttered in a shaky voice, “B-but they all were killed.” As he told her, a lone tear trickled down his cheek, and her eyes widened in shock.
He closed his eyes to compose himself, and more tears streamed down his cheeks. She squeezed his hand to assure him that she was with him and wiped his tears with her other hand.
Flashback
A ten-year-old Andrew was coming out of the house, holding his mother’s hand. His father and his three-year-old sister were playing in the garden of their house. Andrew and his mother stopped when they saw a few men standing, pointing guns at his father and sister. Then they shot them in front of their eyes.
He was about to shout and run to them, but his mother stopped him and covered his mouth with her hand. They both were crying mechanically. She dragged him into the house, trying to protect him.
“My baby, please hide somewhere no one can find you,” his mom clasped his face and pleaded, crying desperately.
“Mom,” he sobbed, “Dad and Lily, they-”
She cut him off. “Baby, we don’t have time. Please, for me, hide somewhere.”
He just hugged his mother, wrapping his arms around her waist and burying his face in her belly, crying profusely.
“I love you, baby,” she cried too, running her hand through his hair and kissing his head.
“Now you have to hide, and promise me you won’t come out until someone comes.” She instructed after pulling him away from her.
He nodded. “Okay, Momma, I promise you.”
She bent down and kissed his forehead, crying fretfully.
As Andrew ran to the stairs and turned around, her mother gave him a flying kiss, tears coursing down their cheeks constantly.
He came to the terrace to hide. “Momma,” he cried out loudly in agony when he saw them kill his mother too, just like his father and sister.
He hid in the huge tank to fulfil his mother’s last wish. He stayed there for two days, horrified, shattered, starving, and crying.
Then his mother’s brother, Dan, rescued him. Dan was a Mafia boss, and he made Andrew one as well because he wanted to take revenge on the people who had killed his family. Andrew wanted to become strong so that no one could harm him. With the loss of his parents, he lost his childhood and all his happiness. He started living his life to become stronger and rule the world.
Flashback Over
“Mom, Dad, and my-my little sis-sis-sister, they all were killed in front of my eyes,” he stuttered, whimpering like a small child. She was also shedding silent tears after hearing about his dreadful past and seeing his vulnerable condition.
“I’m with you. Just let it all out.” She pulled him into her arms and buried his head in her chest to console him. He howled, releasing all the pain he had buried deep inside. The flashes of his horrible past revolved in his mind, driving him to the edge. He cried louder and louder.
Her heart ached painfully as she listened to his anguished screams. She cried with him, rubbing his back constantly, pulling him closer and closer, and kissing his neck, forehead, cheeks, and head.
No one would believe that the person crying like a baby in Chloe’s arms was the Mafia boss, a frightening man who doesn’t hesitate to kill people and make them suffer until their last breath.
She let him cry as much as he needed because she knew it was necessary. Only then would he find relief.
After a few minutes, when he stopped crying, she pulled him away from her and placed a soft, tender kiss on his forehead. He closed his eyes in response, feeling much better after releasing his pain.
She clasped his face. “Feeling better.”
He rested his forehead on hers. “Much better.”
For a few minutes, they both lost themselves in each other, and then he hugged her firmly again. She hugged him back tighter.
“Thank you so much for being there for me,” he murmured in her ear, hugging her so tightly that he was nearly crushing her bones.
“I’m always with you, Andrew.” She kissed his shoulder.
“I love you, Sunshine,” he whispered after breaking the hug, gazing at her fondly. His eyes were red from crying, but now there was no pain in them, only love.
She kissed his forehead, and as he closed his eyes, she kissed both his eyelids.
“I love you, Andrew,” she confessed, her voice and eyes filled with love, before planting a soft and soul-soothing kiss on his lips. She was taking away all his pain with that kiss, sparking his soul. He kissed her back lovingly and softly, his long fingers curling around her neck.
