Chloe’s eyes fell on Mike, who was staring at her in disbelief.
“What? Why are you looking at me like this?” She asked him rudely, her mood soured by Andrew walking away, leaving her bleeding.
“I’m seeing if you’re really a human being,” he told her, strolling toward her.
She narrowed her brows bemusedly. “What do you mean?”
“I mean, you melted the boss’s heart? A normal person can’t do this,” he stated, shaking his head incredulously.
Her eyes shimmered. “Really? Did I melt his heart?” She asked disbelievingly.
“Yes, I can clearly see it,” he said confidently.
She made a sad pout. “I don’t think so, he just walked out of here.” She dejectedly looked in the direction from where he left.
“Because he didn’t want to show you that his heart is melting, and trust me, it’s not what it looks like, Chloe.”
“What do you mean?” She asked, raising her brows.
“I’ll tell you, but first let me dress your wound.” He pointed at her bleeding wound.
“No, I will only let Mr. Handsome dress it.” She stated, crossing her arms over her chest.
“Fine, then I won’t tell you anything about him. I thought maybe I could help you, but okay if that’s what you want.” He shrugged his shoulders.
“Okay, but you must tell me everything about him.” She waggled her finger at him.
“I’m here for that only.” He smiled at her, and then they both turned to walk.
She stopped and asked him, “By the way, what’s your name?”
“I’m Mike. I work here, and I’m close to the boss,” she nodded in response.
On the other side, Andrew paced across his room, wondering why he had become so angry and beaten the truck driver. Chloe’s words echoed in his ear. ‘But deep inside, you care for me.’
“Do I really care for her?” He asked himself, staring straight.

Mike was dressing Chloe’s wound as they sat in her room on the sofa. “Mike, now tell me about your boss,” she asked him.
“Boss never cared for any woman before you. So, isn’t it obvious that you’re special?” He questioned her, causing her eyes to widen in shock.
‘Am I special to him?’ She wondered.
“Really? But he said he’s just helping me because he doesn’t want to get himself in trouble.” She uttered in a grim tone.
“Well, he would have killed you instead of bringing you here. Think wisely.” He replied.
Her eyes enlarged in shock, and she asked, “Why would he have killed me?”
She still wasn’t aware that he was a mafia boss.
“You don’t know who the boss is?”
At that moment, Andrew arrived to check if Chloe had gotten her wound dressed or not. He became jealous again upon seeing her with Mike.
“Mike.” He yelled, catching their attention. They both turned their eyes to the door where he was standing.
Andrew marched over to them in fury. “Mike, what are you doing here? I was looking for you.” He asked Mike, glaring at Chloe through the corner of his eye.
Mike could clearly see that Andrew was jealous. “Boss, I’m dressing her wound.” He stifled a laugh because it was funny for him to see his boss getting jealous of him.
“Let it be, I’ll do this. You go and check whether our truck has arrived or not.” Andrew ordered him, snatching the ointment from his hand. A smile spread across Chloe’s face as she noticed his jealousy written all over his face.
“Okay, boss.” Mike stood up and walked to the door, but before stepping out, he turned and said, “Take care, Chloe. I’ll see you later.”
“Thanks, Mike,” Chloe said, smiling at him.
“What were you both doing?” He asked her, sitting beside her.
“Nothing just talking. He’s so sweet. I wonder what is he doing with you.” As she teased him, he just killed her with his angry look.
“He’s so sweet, you’re so rude, you’re so aggressive, he is so calm.” As he was dressing her wound, she blabbered nonstop, irking him.
“How many times do I have to dress your wound?” He asked, extremely annoyed.
“Whenever you don’t listen to me, you have to dress my wound.” She grinned at him.
“Stubborn.” He muttered in irritation.
“Look who’s talking, the stubborn king.”
“Stop back answering me, Chloe.”
“You stop shouting at me,” she retorted.
“Aghh, stop talking to me.” He averted his eyes in anger.
She stood up and said, “I can’t stop talking, so I’ll talk to Mike. He is really very sweet and doesn’t shut me up like you.”
He also rose from the sofa. “And you’re so annoying.” He yelled at her before storming out of the room and shutting the door.
“Oh God, he’s really difficult to handle. I have to do something.” She murmured as she picked up her phone from the table to text Mike. He had given her his number to her before dressing her wound.
Chloe :
Hi, Mike.
Mike :
Hey, Boss’s Future Girl Friend.
She laughed after reading his message.
Chloe :
Haye… I hope so.
By the way, could I get his number?
Mike:
Yeah, sure. Boss is all yours.
She blushed.
Chloe :
Wow!!
Mike:
It’s 925673567
Chloe:
Mike, thank you so much, you’re my saviour.
Mike:
Anytime!!
She saved Andrew’s number immediately with Mr Handsome and messaged him on WhatsApp.
Chloe:
I hope you know CPR because you just took my breath away.
Andrew:
What the fuck!! From where did you get my number?
Chloe:
I have my sources.
She sent him the wink emoji.
Andrew:
I know it’s Mike.
I won’t fucking leave him.
Chloe:
What? Really?
Are you gay?
Please say no!
Andrew:
Oh just shut up and stop irritating me.
Chloe:
Agh… It’s called flirting, hero.
She had a constant smile on her face.
Andrew:
Stop whatever you’re doing.
Chloe:
I’m masturbating, thinking about you. And I can’t stop doing this. Only you can stop me after coming here.
She laughed after sending him this message, and his eyes widened in shock after reading it.
“This woman is something else.” He muttered in a disbelief tone.
Andrew:
Was your father an alien? Because there’s nothing else like you on the Earth.
After reading his text, her face turned pale. She tossed her phone on the bed and went to the balcony, grabbing a lighter and a box of cigarettes.
He paced across his room, feeling anxious when she didn’t reply to his message. He didn’t know why he felt like she wasn’t okay, and he grew restless.
“What’s happening to me?” He muttered, annoyed with himself.
She stood on the balcony, puffing at her cigarette, her gaze fixed straight ahead with a serious expression. Her eyes were filled with sorrow, and her lips were drawn down in sadness. She was lost in her thoughts while the breeze was caressing her face, causing her hair to dance.
