Alyssa opened her eyes feeling Nicholas’s warm mouth on hers. Was she dreaming or was it Nicholas really kissing her? Unconsciously, her arms went round his neck and she pulled him closer, opening her mouth to him, to take as much as she could. After dreaming of him the whole night, it was only normal that she needed this to keep thoughts of him out of her head throughout the day.
His lips were on fire as he plunged his warm tongue into her mouth, tasting her, devouring her, branding her with his touch. Despite being intensely passionate, there was a sensual quality as if he too had been longing to kiss her for a long time. Their mouths battled with each other for dominance, not getting enough of one another. After weeks of lusting after her, Nicholas didn’t want the kiss to end. Her soft moans and the way her fingers played with his hair, were enough to drive him crazy. The kiss wasn’t enough, he needed more.
His hands wandered to her stomach, touching the smooth skin under her top. A quiver coursed through her body at his touch. His fingers inched their way upwards while his mouth released hers to breath, to pepper feather soft kisses on her neck. He cupped her bare breasts from under the top, taunting and trapping the ni*ples between his fingers. It drove her crazy, sending sparks shooting all over her body. Heat pooled between her legs and a moan of pure pleasure escaped her mouth.
“I want you, Alyssa. Do you want me?” he whispered hoarsely, sucking a spot on her neck, marking her, branding her. His words brought Alyssa to her senses. What was she doing? She pushed at Nicholas’s chest, eager to get away.
“Stop Nicholas. How can you take advantage of me? Have you forgotten your promise to me?” she yelled at him angrily, rolling over to get out of bed. Her whole body seethed with anger, surprised by her own response to him.
“I didn’t take advantage of you. I clearly remember having promised not to initiate anything but if you did, I told you that I wouldn’t stay away. Last night, you were the one who slept all over me yet I controlled myself. So today in the morning, when you started everything, why should I stop myself from doing what my heart desired? It was you who kissed me first, you who touched me first, so how do you expect me to stay immune?” he demanded making her go completely still. Did she really do all that? Her cheeks flamed red with embarrassment and she couldn’t meet his eyes. At that point, all she wanted to do was to disappear from the room. After hot erotic dreams of Nicholas, it was quite probable that she had assaulted him in his sleep. God, why did it have to be this way?
“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t know,” she mumbled, getting off the bed and picking up her clothes from a nearby chair where she had kept them last night. Before Nicholas could think of a reply, she dashed off to the washroom to hide.
Nicholas sat still, hurt by her apology and aroused to a point of no return. Things had just started heating up between them and he was just drowning in her sweetness when she pushed him away. The unfulfilled need to feel her, touch her, taste her, have her and make love to her drove him crazy and he just got up and pulled on a tee shirt, and walked out of the bedroom. He would go crazy if he stayed there for another minute. He freshened up in one of the common washrooms and went to the cafe downstairs to calm himself down. This time he didn’t leave any note for her. She could figure out her own needs and desires first. He was sure that she wanted him as much as he did but she was unnecessarily being secretive about her feelings for him. Why couldn’t she admit it just like he had? They could enjoy their time together instead of wasting it. Even the second cup of coffee didn’t help him and he finally ordered breakfast to be sent to his room and left the cafe. There was no point in wallowing in self-pity now as he had to get ready for his upcoming business conference. With a scowl on his face, he went upstairs to his bedroom to shower and get ready. Alyssa had already showered and was sipping her coffee sitting on the balcony. It was evident that she didn’t want him to disturb her. He picked up his clothes and dashed into the washroom for a shower.
Alyssa sighed hearing the door of the washroom click shut. She felt guilty for tormenting Nicholas so much that he was now mad at her. She couldn’t face him after knowing what she had done. How would they spend the rest of the nights with one another? She could request a spare mattress and use it to sleep.
“Yes, that would be the best thing to do,” she mumbled softly, finishing her coffee. The doorbell rang and she opened the door to see a server waiting outside with their breakfast. After he placed the food on the table and left, Nicholas opened the door and emerged from the washroom, wearing a fresh pair of sweatpants and a tee shirt.
“We need to be ready in an hour. Come here and have your breakfast, Alyssa.” Extremely conscious of herself, Alyssa sat down opposite him and served herself a little food, all the while avoiding his eyes. “Have you gone through the details I sent you?”
“Yes. We have a booking of the hotel’s conference room for three hours, from ten o’clock in the morning. The Sigma Group of companies wants our company to undertake all their financial operations worldwide. So, you’ll be signing the deal with Charles Spencer, the General Manager of the Signus Group of companies. I would need to note down the minutes of the meeting.”
“Impressive! We’ll have a business lunch with Charles Spencer and his secretary after the conference,” said Nicholas. Alyssa was surprised that he could act so normal as if nothing had happened at all between them. How could he be so unaffected when the kiss had totally unnerved her? Throughout the time, Alyssa ate in silence while Nicholas kept receiving important phone calls one after the other. She cleared up the breakfast while Nicholas went out to the living area to talk to his manager. Alyssa closed the door to the bedroom and quickly wore her deep coffee-colored business suit for the conference. Tying her hair up in an austere bun, she applied very minimal makeup and opened the door for Nicholas to get ready.
The moment she emerged, she could feel Nicholas’s gaze slowly appraising her from head to foot. Their eyes met and for a split second, Alyssa thought she saw an intense desire burn in his eyes. It was gone before she could confirm her thoughts. “I’ll get ready in a jiffy,” he said, tearing his gaze away from her and getting up from the couch where he was sitting. Alyssa’s eyes widened to see him approach her. Why was he coming towards her? Maybe because she was blocking his way to the bedroom! She moved away from the door to the bedroom but Nicholas too turned and headed towards her. What did he want now? Would he kiss her? Would he continue where they left off?
He stopped right in front of her and his glance fell upon her chest. Alyssa’s heart skipped a beat or two. What would he do now? He raised both his hands and slowly buttoned up the first two buttons of her blouse!
“Mine. Only mine!” he murmured in a low rumble while Alyssa stood dumbfounded by his possessive behavior. His eyes searched hers for a split second and then abruptly he left her and went into the room. With goosebumps spreading all over her body at his touch, Alyssa stood like a statue with flushed cheeks. What just happened? Did Nicholas claim her, brand her as his already? This was now getting so out of hand that she had no idea how they would stay in one room without devouring one another.
Going to the same couch where Nicholas was sitting, she sat down to wait for him. The buzzing of a mobile phone with a message notification made her look around. Her mobile phone was inside her bag. Then was it Nicholas’s phone? She looked around and fished out Nicholas’s phone from under her on the couch.
A message flashing on the screen got her attention.
Why the f*ck are you ignoring my calls, Nicholas? I’ll beat the shit out of you once you return. How dare you take my sister with you? She isn’t your f*cking plaything!
Alexander
Alyssa gasped with shock seeing her brother’s threat. She had completely forgotten about him. In fact, she was surprised that he didn’t call her after she left Eva’s apartment. She had found it strange but now knew that he had been calling Nicholas instead. Why didn’t Nicholas tell her about this? Didn’t he know that Alexander didn’t give useless threats? He meant every word he said!
