Book 2: Chapter Twenty-Two – Are You Seducing Me?

Book:The Temptation Series Published:2024-11-6

Alyssa’s eyes widened seeing him park his car at Montgomery Street. So where exactly were they going to? The whole drive Nicholas had been beating around the bush about their destination and at last, Alyssa gave up and just waited for his surprise. What was with men and their date night surprises?
He led her towards Pier 36 and Alyssa smiled knowing what they were about to do. “So dinner cruise it is!” she exclaimed, absolutely loving the idea. Nicholas smiled and led her towards a sleek blue streamlined three-deck vessel anchored there. The moment she saw it, her eyes widened and his words echoed in her head.
Blue turns me on!
She glanced at Nicholas to check if he was turned on when her eyes met his amused ones. “I only meant humans that too of the other se*!” He chuckled while Alyssa rolled her eyes. Humans of the other se* indeed! Wouldn’t it be easier to say women instead? However, the main concern here was that her enemy could easily read her mind and it was very creepy indeed!
They boarded the vessel and Nicholas led her towards the VIP section with sky deck views. Seated beside each other they were served welcome drinks. Although Alyssa had gone on a cruise of the Upper Bay many times with her friends, tonight she felt a strange thrill, a strange excitement with Nicholas. She knew it had nothing to do with the kiss they shared earlier and neither was it due to his constant gaze fixed upon her. Then why did she have butterflies in her stomach every time their eyes met?
“So, how many times have you been on a cruise around here?” he asked, watching her like a hawk. Alyssa smiled remembering the last time she came on such a trip with the girls but found her brother and Ashton already there. It wasn’t a coincidence and they had fought like cats and dogs. Eva had slipped and fallen and Alexander had carried her to his car and then to his apartment while they went ahead with the cruise.
“Your smile tells me how much you enjoyed it with him!” he said and Alyssa gave him a startled look. Him? Who was he talking about?
“Who are you talking about?” she asked with confusion.
“Your boyfriend or any other hook-up or fling you might have gone out with.” His eyes shone with curiosity as he waited for her reply. He wanted to know so much about her relationships yet she was so secretive about them. A beautiful and spoiled girl like her surely couldn’t be an innocent virgin. Since he himself was no saint, he wanted to know more about her link-ups but Alyssa just gaped at him with disbelief.
“Are you crazy? Do you think such a guy would have been alive if I had a relationship with him? Alex would have killed him with his bare hands. So no thank you. I have no one in my life and neither have I ever dated or hooked up with anyone. I’ve successfully saved myself from such stupid flings for the last twenty-two years of my life and wish to continue to do so.” Nicholas’s whole body tingled with excitement hearing that there wasn’t anyone in her life. It was too good to be true!
“So you mean to tell me that you never kissed anyone before?” he asked with his jaws dropped to the floor.
“Of course, I have been kissed. On my sixteenth birthday, someone stole my first kiss in a game of truth and dare. He landed up at the hospital,” she admitted with an eye roll while Nicholas sat gazing at her with admiration. This girl was something else! Every time he met her and talked to her, he knew something more about her that completely bowled him over.
“I don’t think that was your first kiss at all! Your first kiss was at age twelve when you kissed me.” Alyssa gaped at him wordlessly. He was right actually.
“Oh!” Her cheeks flushed with color remembering their last kiss.
“And your last kiss was at the apartment until we kiss again,” Alyssa looked away shaking her head.
“This is the first and last date I’m going with you. That kiss was an accident and there won’t be anymore.” The vessel started to leave and Nicholas smiled at her, his eyes fixed upon her rather than the views beyond.
“Anything to make you sleep well at night.” Alyssa looked away since it was useless arguing with him. No one knew what was going on in his mind and it would be better if she concentrated on the view and food instead.
Nicholas bought them drinks from the premium sky deck bar and they tucked into the delightful appetizers as the vessel cruised along. There was live DJ music and many activities going on but Nicholas pulled her along to the dance floor where a few couples were gyrating to the upbeat music playing. Alyssa wasn’t interested in the crashing rap music and started to walk away when Nicholas ran up to the DJ to have a word with him. Suddenly the music stopped and so did the couples dancing along. What was going on?
Alyssa turned around to see Nicholas approaching her. He pulled to the dance floor and a remix version of Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s, Senorita, started blasting from the speakers all around. Nicholas pulled her into his body, her back touching his front and she gasped as his arm went around her and he swayed and gyrated to the music. His whole body came alive when she responded and danced taking his lead. With his hot body molded to hers, his breath fanning her neck and face, Alyssa couldn’t help but feel an aching need to tease him a little. After all, this date was nothing but revenge on her brother! She had realized that Nicholas had come over to her apartment only to rile Alex up so why shouldn’t she do the same to him for using her?
She danced, rubbing herself against his hard length, defiance flowing with the silky movements of her body, making Nicholas instantly hard. His hold tightened around her and he embedded his face into her long hair that swayed against her tiny waist.
“Are you seducing me, Alyssa?” he whispered against her neck, making her tremble a little.
“Why should I waste my time?” Nicholas smiled and played along but soon it wasn’t a game anymore as he was getting out of control. He whirled her around to face him, her eyes widening at the suddenness of his actions. He felt his heart skip a beat when his eyes met with her sultry ones.
“Do you want to take this somewhere?” he asked, his voice husky with lust.
“Where? To Liberty Island? That’s where we’re heading to right now.” Nicholas laughed and the music came to a stop and so did Alyssa Van Every’s seductive moves.
She pulled him to their seat to enjoy the views as dinner was about to be served. Nicholas groaned inwardly as he was clueless as to how she could act as if nothing had happened between them a few minutes ago. How could she look so nonchalant after that hot encounter? Here he was dying of blue balls while she was happily munching the food being served. If he didn’t know otherwise, he would have easily mistaken her for an experienced player.
“Try the shrimp cocktail, Nicholas. Mmm, this is delicious,” she said, savoring the roasted chicken and the shrimp cocktail but Nicholas’s attention was on her lips. The way she moaned made him feel more aroused deep down and he couldn’t help the sinful thoughts from rushing to his mind. Would she moan the same way when he embedded himself deep inside her? Would she moan when he ate her to the point of no return? He would love to know!
The food tasted bland when his attention was on her. The plunging neckline didn’t help his condition at all and his mind just couldn’t help conjuring up images of their lovemaking. If her kiss could be so addictive, how would her love-making feel like?
“Wow, every time I see the green lady, I’m under a spell by her beauty,” said Alyssa, staring at the gigantic statue of well-lit-up statue of Liberty. It brought Nicholas out of his dreamland and he concentrated on the views around him. Unlike Alyssa, it had been years since he had the time for such things. Ever since his dad had fallen ill and died, he had the responsibility of the company on his shoulders. With both Lucas and Marcus not taking any interest in the business, he was left all alone to cope.
“I saw her seven years ago from this close,” he told her and her jaws dropped with surprise.
“How? Were you away from New York?” she asked unable to understand how he could have not seen the iconic attraction of their city.
“No, I took up the responsibility of managing dad’s business after he died. I didn’t get time to indulge in such things.” Alyssa gaped at him.
“Oh, didn’t you come here on dates?” she asked with a frown. He might have brought many women out on a date here as he brought her.
“No, I don’t do dates. You’re the first.”
