Book 1: Chapter 37 – Sweet Surrender

Book:The Temptation Series Published:2024-11-6

Cara shyly pulled his head down to hers and planted a sweet kiss on his lips that made Marcus burn for more. He cupped her face and claimed her lips in a slow, lingering kiss that explored and savored her sweetness. Bolder and more confident than before, Cara kissed him back with equal fervor. Soon the languid kiss transformed into a battle of their mouths and Marcus groaned and slipped his hand beneath her top, caressing her firm and smooth skin. Cara trembled with a need so acute that she was surprised at her body’s reaction to him.
Within seconds, he stripped off the top in a desperate and almost car*al movement, making a gush of molten heat release from her already wet folds. His fingers got rid of her bra and stroked her brea*ts softly, while she arched her back to give him more access. His mouth released hers and trailed to her ear, tracing her earlobe as he murmured what exactly he wanted to do with her.
“I want to eat you all night. I need to embed deep within you and make you come for me. Then I want to brand my touch upon your sweet body and completely make you mine. Are you ready for me, Cara?” he whispered with eyes that promised more than he just mentioned. At that point, Cara knew what she had agreed upon but strangely she didn’t feel any need to back out. She wanted this as much as he did. She wanted him.
“Who’s stopping you, Marcus?” she whispered back. Marcus raised his head to gaze deep into her eyes as if trying to read what was in her soul.
“Are you sure? This won’t be a one-time thing between us,” he warned, still staring at her. He just couldn’t believe that she actually agreed.
“I’m very sure,” she whispered shyly. Marcus wasted no more time, his hot mouth clamped over her pebble-like nip*les while his hands roamed around everywhere, making her melt in his touch.
“Do you like this, mia Cara?” he hummed in a hoarse voice that was enough to make Cara soaking wet for him. Her heart reacted every time he whispered the new endearment into her ears. It felt as if he almost loved her!
“Yes,” she breathed, tugging at his hair as he devoured her. His fingers trailed down her abdomen and her breath hitched when they unbuttoned her jeans and pulled it down along with her underwear. Within seconds, his shirt was off his body as well while his eyes held hers in a hypnotic spell. His eyes slowly took in every inch of her body, followed by his hands, touching her like a delicate flower. Cara’s heart sped up even more than ever before in anticipation of what was to follow. It was uncharted territory and although he gave her ample opportunities to back off, strangely she didn’t want to. She wanted to make memories with him the entire year. After all, she had only one year with him to make memories of a lifetime.
“And this?” he prompted, his fingers rubbing her mound softly with his thumb. It invoked a strange heavenly pleasure that seemed out of this world, making her spread her legs wider for him. She gasped with pleasure and grabbed onto his shoulders for support as he continued to touch her sensitive spot.
“Ah! Don’t stop,” she moaned when he plunged a finger deep inside her dripping wet folds. This was nothing like she had ever imagined. Within minutes, his mouth followed his fingers as he leaned down, grazing his nose against her wet folds. Her heart started racing and she felt herself throbbing with a tremendous need, as if ready to explode. Then he used his tongue in long and slow movements, working up a rhythm with firm yet teasing strokes that made her cling to him with urgency. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head as the pleasure mounted till she exploded right into his mouth. Licking her clean, he looked up at her sated body and peppered her face and neck with soft comforting kisses.
“You are so beautiful, so pure, so innocent, mia Cara. I don’t deserve you at all. I don’t deserve this but I can’t stay away from you even if I tried. I don’t think I can proceed further knowing that you’re a virgin, knowing that I’m too bad for you.” He raised his head and desperately searched her eyes for an answer.
“Don’t you think it’s too late for this talk? We have already surrendered to one another, haven’t we? Can we go back to where we started after this?” Her honest answer made her more endearing to him. All he could do was shake his head. Nothing could ever be normal between them.
“Still I think we should stop here now. I want to take this slow and steady with you, Cara. I want you to enjoy each and every moment we share, hmm?” She was overwhelmed by his tenderness after his passionate approach.
“Okay.” To her utter amazement, Marcus helped her with her clothes, slowly, tenderly as if she were the most precious thing in the entire world.
“I’ll make dinner tonight. What’s your favorite dish?” he asked as he buttoned up her top.
“Steak,” she answered shyly, completely bowled over by his charm.
“Steak it is, then.” He got up from the bed and pulled her up with him. “Watch me make it for you, mia Cara.” Cara’s heart did a somersault at hearing him call her that. What did it mean, she wondered. He led her to a barstool near the kitchen counter and walked away towards his studio.
“Wait here, don’t move,” he said over his shoulder. Cara sat and waited with a small smile on her lips. She had no idea what Marcus was up to but she was enjoying the special treatment he was giving her. Within minutes, he emerged with a brand new laptop and a mobile phone and placed them in front of her.
“These are for you. You’ll need these when you start college.” Cara’s eyes widened seeing the expensive objects in front of her. How could she afford these things when she couldn’t afford basic things like clothes and food?
“I can’t afford them, Marcus.”
Marcus looked offended and with a scowl on his face, he walked over to the refrigerator to take out the ingredients he needed to make dinner. “I mean it. I can’t afford such expensive things,” continued Cara. Marcus pinned her with a displeased look on his face.
“Did I ask you to pay? Take them as a gift,” he shrugged, not understanding why she was making such a big issue out of it. Women loved getting expensive gifts, so how was she any different? However, it seemed as if he was wrong in his judgment!
“I can’t. You’ve given me a lot. I want you to deduct the amount from my pay every month, otherwise, I won’t accept them, Marcus.” Marcus was taken aback by the grim and determined expression on her face. He sighed, giving in at last.
“Fine, happy now? I have saved my number on your mobile phone.” Cara smiled and nodded, picking up the mobile phone to check.
“Thank you, Marcus.”
“Why don’t you go to the dining table and set them up while I make dinner?” Cara nodded and left excitedly. She had used aunt Maggie’s mobile phone many times and knew exactly what to do. The first thing she did was to open the browser and search for the term, mia Cara. Her eyes widened seeing the meaning of the Italian words.
My dear,
My beloved.
She felt dazed as the most important question that crept up in her head was why did Marcus call her his beloved when he didn’t love her!
While Cara battled with a million questions in her head, Marcus felt thoroughly confused by his own behavior. Today, he had done things he had never done in his twenty-six years of life. He wasn’t a caring sort of guy and usually was always in a hurry to strip and get the deed done and then throw the woman out thereafter but today with Cara, every moment was different, every moment was blissful. Not only did he stop himself from pumping wildly into her but he had tenderly asked her for her permission before proceeding with anything with her. He had stopped himself after hearing the little grumble in her stomach which most probably she herself was unaware of. He had helped her put on her clothes which was another first-time stunt and it stunned him beyond words. While his brain went into overdrive thinking of answers to his behavior, his fingers created magic producing the best steak he had ever made, all for Cara.
What was happening to him? How could he change? He couldn’t! He was still the cold, hard Marcus who never trusted women, and neither did he believe in love. His heart was too bitter to fall in love. Then why did he do stuff for Cara that he had never done for Cassie even when he was engaged to her! Then what was this madness all about?
