I suppressed a smile. Blair was always rebellious and liked to break the rules. Everyone ignored her careless behavior in the past when she was very young, but now she was an adult and would soon find a mate or maybe had already found one. I didn’t know. So, I understood Catherine’s worry. I just wished the Moon Goddess would bless Blair with a mate as understanding and caring as she was herself.
“Shut up, Blair, and follow me,” Catherine scolded, and Blair gave me an apologetic smile.
“I will see you later,” she whispered.
“I heard you, Blair,” her mother yelled at her again, and Blair bit her tongue.
But, of course, they were werewolves, so they could hear even a subtle whisper.
Everything at lunch was of Blair’s taste. She enjoyed it and didn’t hesitate to appreciate it. The Omegas were happy to get some sweet words as a reward after their hard work to make this lunch so memorable. Zander didn’t join them for lunch because he went to his office and was going to return only in the evening to welcome his royal guest.
The day passed in a blur, and we did not even get time to breathe peacefully. Soon after lunch, we had to start preparing for the royal feast as the royal guest was arriving in the evening.
The omegas worked tirelessly throughout the morning and into the afternoon, our collective efforts turning the pack house into a gleaming testament of our commitment. Every corner was meticulously cleaned, every surface polished to perfection.
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, signaling the approach of evening, Eden inspected our work. Her stern expression became scowling as she threw a utensil on the floor to draw our attention.
“Hurry up, you lazy asses! I want everything ready and this mess cleared before the party starts,” she demanded brutally.
We had been working non-stop since morning, and I had to take care of Avery’s requirements for her diet also. Apart from being her personal butler, she told me that I also had to help in the kitchen and other housework because today was the big day.
Everything was set on the table, and the whole pack was invited to the feast. The kitchen was working nonstop to feed every single person in the Moonglow pack.
As the sky darkened and the moon hung high in the sky, the entire pack was gleaming with colorful lights strung up throughout the street. The front yard of the pack house was decorated and open for everyone, which provided more space for members of the largest pack of the North to gather to see the royal guest.
“Selena, the royal guest is about to arrive. We should hurry up and change clothes. We have been wearing them since morning,” Lola suggested.
“Lola, you go and change. I have some work left, and I have to finish it before the guest arrives,” I replied with a smile before turning my attention back to the gas stove.
After seasoning and plating the food decoratively, I went to set the royal dining table. I had done it a few times in the past, and I knew how to set it for the royal feast.
With the help of some omegas, I finally set the table perfectly. All the dishes were placed in the center. Plates and crockery were lined in a defined manner.
“You all should also change clothes because the party is about to start,” I suggested, smiling, and the omegas’ faces brightened. I knew they only got to the party occasionally because they had to stay behind all the arrangements.
However, when I was here this time, I could stay behind and manage the work. So they could enjoy it a little while I looked after the arrangements. Nevertheless, I didn’t feel the need to change. I was not here to impress anyone or have fun. I was here for a purpose.
Last night, I had been waiting for a message from my anonymous client, but again got no instructions from him. I was unsure of whether to stay or leave, as I was clueless about the situation.
After double-checking the arrangement, I picked up the lamb soup Avery needed according to her schedule and made my way to her room.
“Selena, you haven’t changed,” Lola’s voice made me turn around.
I stared at her, stunned. She looked so pretty, wearing a beautiful sea-green gown.
“My Goddess! Lola, you look so gorgeous,” I beamed.
“Thank you,” she giggled, blushing. “Where are you going?”
“I am going to deliver Luna Avery’s soup to her room,” I explained.
“Give it to me. I will deliver it,” she offered. “You go change into a pretty dress before our guest arrives,” she insisted.
“I am fine. I want this day to end quickly. So I can go back to my room and throw myself on my bed,” I sighed, turning hurriedly to go to Avery’s room and was startled, colliding with the rock.
Fuck!
How did, all of a sudden, this rock fall in midway?
The soup spilled, and my hand went reflexively to my face, fearing that the hot soup would splash on my face, anticipating scorching pain. But it never came because someone swung me swiftly before the soup fell on my face.
Wide eyes and breathing heavily, I looked up at my savior, and two twinkling blue eyes met mine, making me freeze momentarily.
“Arabella?!” The name left those full lips, the voice casting spells.
