OLIVIA
“You never see anything, do you?” I told Agnes, with the hope that she was going to understand me.
“I didn’t see what?
Sorry, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Are you sure everything is fine? You look so bothered,” Agnes asked me. She looked so clueless and dumb. I couldn’t tell if she knew what happened or just decided to play games with me.
“Forget it!
I should have known that you all are the same. All of you. No one is different,” I spoke aggressively and went back to my room.
It’s funny how my visit to Adrian’s mansion has suddenly turned out to be the worst decision I ever made. In the dining room, Adrian made me feel so special. He gave me the baby girl treatment to the extent that I didn’t want to leave.
The first call I received was from Kate. She has been calling repeatedly the whole time I was riding on top of Adrian’s penis. I intentionally ignored the call because I thought it wasn’t my phone ringing.
“Good morning, ma’am. Are you home already?” Kate hurriedly asked me. She sounded so urgent, which made me wonder if Cyril had started again with his troubles.
“Take a chill pill. Kate.
It’s Cyril, isn’t it?” I asked in a calm tone. Kate has never spoken to me in that tone of voice before. Is it Cyril or None?
“Yes, it’s Cyril.
Please, you need to come home quickly,” Kate replied. She won’t stop sounding so nervous.
I suspected there was an impending danger. Without being told, I knew it was time to leave.
“What has Cyril done this time?” I inquired while edging closer to the exit door.
“He’s at my place as I speak, threatening to get me arrested If I refuse to disclose your whereabouts to him,” Kate explained with a shaky voice. I could hear Cyril’s voice from the background to confirm that Kate wasn’t lying.
“I’ll be there in a bit,” I told Kate and stepped outside only to meet Adrian having breakfast in the living room.
“Do you need me to drop you off? I would gladly do that,” Adrian volunteered while sipping his cup of coffee.
The presence of Adrian in the living scared the living daylight out of me. I was shocked to see him. I thought he would still be in his room.
“I don’t recall seeking your help. Just so you know, what happened last night was a mistake that should have been avoided. I don’t care what you’ve got in your head about me, and it needs to stop immediately,” I issued the final warning to Adrian before stepping outside. He kept laughing without saying anything. He was confident that I was going to come running to him. I’ve never seen an egocentric man like him before.
“Wait, isn’t that Adrian’s voice echoing in the background?” Kate asked.
“Shit. Are you still on the phone? I thought you ended the phone already? What the heck are you still doing? We’re done having this conversation,” I scolded Kate. I had no idea that she was still on the phone.
I would have sworn that she ended the phone already.
“I see what you’re doing.
You are running away from the question, right? What is he talking about? Did you guys have sex last night?” Kate asked me with curiosity.
“Mind the damn business that fucking pays you.” I cautioned Kate and drove straight to her house.
“Wait a minute, is Cyril still at your place? Please don’t tell me he’s hearing our conversation right now?” I panicked. The last thing I want for myself is Cyril finding out that I had sex with Adrian, and I’m certain that Adrian won’t kiss and tell either. He might be naughty but certainly not a lousy fellow. I was comfortable with Cyril suspecting that I was cheating on him. I want him to continue having a panic attack with his assumptions.
“No, he isn’t.
He left already because I refused to provide the answers he sought,” Kate disclosed. That was quite relieving for me. Cyril is gradually making my life miserable and I can’t help it.
“Thank you for standing up for me. I’ll be there soon,” I told Kate.
“Please wait.
Don’t go yet,” Kate halted me. My already calmed soul became troubled again. I had a feeling that Kate wanted to disclose another shocking news.
“How was the sex with Adrian? How good was he in bed? Did you enjoy it? What am I even saying? I bet you did. I can tell how excited you are from the tone of your voice,” Kate teased me with a thousand questions. She left me clueless. I had no idea where to start providing the answers to her question.
“Like seriously?
I should have known better that speaking to you was a total mistake. You are so naughty, and you aren’t making a deal out of it. Get the fuck off my phone,” I hissed and ended the call. I just set myself up for trolling by making Kate find out about the sex.
Considering how inquisitive Kate is, she won’t stop until she forces the response from me. I was going to tell her at the right time. I never wanted her to find out in this manner. She’s going to taunt me for the rest of my life.
I already vowed that I wasn’t going to allow myself to fall for Adrian and have sex with him.
I failed Kate. I let myself down.
I defiled my wedding vows.
As I drove over to Kate’s apartment, I kept thinking about the numerous lies to come up with should Cyril start asking me questions about Adrian because I knew he would eventually. I’m never getting away with this.
I finally arrived at Kate’s apartment after five minutes of driving. On my way to her main residence, I spotted Cyril emerging out of the blue. I stopped driving immediately and parked elsewhere to strategize.
“I thought Kate told me he was gone? What the heck is he still doing there,” I asked rhetorically as my voice echoed back to me. I don’t want to believe that Kate lied to me.
If Cyril hadn’t left, there’s a possibility that he just found out about the sex,” I guessed. I shut my eyes quietly to pray for things to turn out in my favor.
I haven’t recovered from the trauma caused by the terrible nightmare I had. It is just a matter of time before the nightmare starts coming to pass. I am doomed.
