“What about Sihwa? Is he the strongest of them all?”
“Yeah.” I gave a nod. “I think so. With what I’ve heard, he is the strongest of them all.”
“You seem to have feelings for him.”
“What!” I gave out sarcastic remark. “That bastard.”
“Not everyone can tell what their feelings are all about?” She shrugged her shoulders. “I think you like him, but you don’t want to admit it, or you are not aware of your feelings. Or maybe you and him seem connected. You mutter his name in your sleep all the time whenever I come over to take some strawberries from you.”
“I do?”
That was new.
“Yep. Connected in some sort of way.”
I don’t understand what she is saying.
“No way.” I shook my head. “I can’t get connected to a murderer. He killed my family and took over the clan. He killed Aiden too. How can he and I feel connected? That’s ridiculous.”
“But it is what it is.” She gave a long, extraverted sigh. “My best solution to what is happening to you is to go back.”
“NO.” I yelled. “I can’t go back, Chelsea.”
“Wendy.” She turned solemn. “You are dying.”
I gasped.
“You reject them or not, it is up to you. But don’t die because of them.” She slightly frowned. “The only way out of this is to make them hate you. Do something that will affect them and weaken the bond. They would feel tortured and cry in agony.”
“What?” Her solution took me aback. “That is possible?”
“Yes, now you’ve grown and can control your wolf form and powers. It’s time you take hold of your life. Beat them down, Wendy.”
“What about Sihwa?”
“He would definitely feel it too. He’s no exception.”
“Wow!” I smiled with a nod. “I love your idea.”
“Thanks, friend. I just gave you an idea, not a plan yet.” She grinned and asked. “How many are they?”
I swallowed and wondered what was going to happen when I answered that question.
“No qualms if you don’t want to say it. I understand. They are a lot. I know.” She held my hand. “Call your grandfather-”
We both paused when I heard my phone ringing.
“Stay. Let me get it for you.” Chelsea stood up and got the phone for me on my table beside the window.
I took the phone and answered the call happily when I saw my grandfather’s name.
Alpha Aiden (My Loving Grandfather) was the name I stored on my phone.
“Hello, grandpa.”
“Are you Wendy Nightshade?” This man’s voice was strange. I have never heard about him before.
Who was he? My grandfather’s new bodyguard? He didn’t tell me he got another one, though.
Did he forget to mention it?
“Yes, I am.” I responded. “Where is my grandfather?”
“I’m sorry, Miss Wendy. Your grandfather is dead.”
I froze, and my phone slumped off my hand.

“Haha. Ahhhhhh.” Larcade and I heard a loud scream upstairs and ran to Wendy’s room to know what was happening up there.
“Hey! Stay calm.” Chelsea held Wendy’s shoulders and tried to stop her from sobbing.
“What happened here?” Larcade asked, and Chelsea didn’t give an answer.
“I got news.” Wendy trembled, pushed Chelsea away from her and got out of bed. “I need to go.” Her stained voice broke through me. “I can’t keep staying here.” She went on. “I need to meet my grandfather. Nothing should happen to him.” Wendy ran to her wardrobe and began arranging her bags. “This-This would be all my fault if anything should happen to him. I will never forgive myself.” She panicked.
“What happened?” Larcade asked Chelsea instead.
“She received news about her grandfather’s death.”
“You are joking, right?”
“We hope so,” Chelsea added.
And ran over to Wendy and pulled her up to her feet, away from her pink bags. “Calm down. We don’t know for sure that he is dead. It could be a prank call from them to know your location.”
“I don’t care. I have to meet him. He’s the only family I have,” Wendy cried out. “I don’t care if it’s a prank. I don’t want them to hurt my grandfather because of me.” She burst into tears and pulled her arm off Chelsea’s grip.
“And you think going there would stop them from killing your grandfather?”
“Yes.” She went back to packing up her bags. “I’m leaving. I can’t stay here anymore. And you can’t stop me.”
“I don’t plan to stop you. I’m just saying…”
“Why don’t you calm down for a second, okay?” Larcade suggested. “Chelsea is right. This could be a prank call. You could fall into their trap.”
“I still don’t care, Larcade. You don’t know these alphas like I do. I’m not hiding anymore. I’m still gonna do what I’m gonna do.” She got up and pulled her clothes from the wardrobe and shoved it in her box.
“Wendy, why don’t you…”
“I’m not listening to anyone.” She wiped off her tears using the back of her hand. “My grandfather is in grave danger. I don’t think he is dead, but he is in danger and I don’t want to standby and let those jerks take over my life.”
“Are you doing this alone?” Larcade folded his arms on his chest. “Don’t tell me you intend to leave this island and go to the city all by yourself?”
“Yes, I do. I’m the one they want.” Wendy grabbed her make up materials and shoveled them into her box.
“We are not letting this happen.” He revealed. “We can’t let you face those people alone. You don’t tell me much about yourself, but I know those people are dangerous like it sounds to me.” He walked up to her and stood three feet away from her. “Wendy, you are not doing this alone.”
“I have no choice.”
“Yes, you have a choice. And that’s us.” He pointed at all of us. “We can’t let you do this to yourself.”
“I’ve decided, Larcade.” She stood firm. “I’m going back to the pack to face them. I’m…tired…of running away from them.”
“Then we leave at midnight.” Chelsea butt in. “The guardian of the Twilight Springs wouldn’t let us through the portal at this hour. It’s perfect we leave at midnight.” She suggested with a scoff.
“Are you supporting her to face those perverts?” Larcade reacted with a slight frown.
“She got a call about her grandfather. Should she sit down at the fresh grass outside and watch the stars at night without knowing what’s going on out there? She tried calling back, but the number says unreachable. It’s understandable she wants to check on her grandfather. She can’t -“
