Mireya noticed that the intensity of communication between her and Torin had increased lately. The reason was that there were many unexpected things that forced them to talk frequently. Just like this morning, Torin contacted her again, and the topic he brought up made her sure that the conversation would not end quickly.
Mireya blinked in disbelief. “W-what did you say, Torin? There’s a possibility that the Munest family is planning a revenge?” She shook her head several times. “That’s impossible.”
“It could be because of Vione’s scandal,” Torin said bluntly. Then he added a very reasonable possibility. “I’m sure the incident with Vione is enough to shake the loyalty of the Munest family. Surely they are now preparing a plan to take revenge on Usher and you.”
Mireya’s eyes narrowed. Her look reflected doubt. “That sounds plausible, but I didn’t think they would go that far.”
“As I said. They must be desperate. They are ashamed of the shame that has befallen Vione. Being a deposed Luna is indeed a very humiliating shame. So, I think it makes sense that they are preparing a plan of revenge.”
“Maybe. Um, it seems you are right.”
Mireya’s voice sounded deep, hinting at a little doubt. It seemed that she still didn’t completely agree with Torin. The reason was simple, she knew very well how much Vione loved Usher. Besides, she also knew that Vione had a gentle heart; revenge was not in her nature.
However, Mireya realized that anything could happen when a woman was hurt by love. So, she rolled her eyes and her expression changed as if she was mocking Vione.
“So, what are the results of your investigation?” Mireya asked a moment later. Now her focus was back on the actual topic. “You must know the details of their plan, right?”
Torin cleared his throat. “To be honest, I don’t know the details of the Munest family’s plan yet, but I strongly suspect that they will stage a coup.”
Mireya’s eyes widened. “A coup?”
“There is some evidence that Addy met with a mysterious man several times on the outskirts of the Amerotha forest. I don’t know what they talked about, but Addy’s behavior indicates that this man is someone he respects. You know? Addy actually knelt before this man.”
“Kneeled?” Mireya gaped. “You must be joking, right, Torin?”
Torin laughed. “Of course not, and it proves that the man is no ordinary person. I strongly suspect that he is an Alpha.”
Torin’s suspicion left Mireya speechless. Especially when Torin explained the situation in detail. Mireya was even more speechless.
Mireya was shocked. She had never thought that Vione and her family would go so far. Then a question filled her mind. “Do you know which pack he is from?”
“I don’t know yet. According to the spies I assigned, the man knows the Amerotha Forest so well that he easily evaded surveillance.”
Mireya’s brow furrowed in confusion. “I’m not sure there is another pack that knows the ins and outs of the Amerotha Forest. It is a sacred forest for the Frostholm pack. I’ve even heard that there are certain areas in Amerotha Forest that no one can enter. It’s as if a magical force protects it.”
“If this magical force exists, then it explains the failure of my spies, the reason they were so easily fooled. But we both know that there is no such magic force in this world.”
Mireya was silent. Torin’s denial sounded logical.
“On the contrary, it makes me more convinced of another possibility, namely that another pack is also watching the Frostholm Pack. That’s why he’s often in the Amerotha Forest, just like the pack did over twenty-seven years ago.”
As an important person with a vital role in the plan to conquer the Frostholm Pack, Mireya knew that it was not only the Nimbria Pack that had such intentions. In fact, countless packs were constantly monitoring the state of the Frostholm Pack, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike and take advantage. Just as Torin suspected now.
Mireya could guess Torin’s thoughts. It seemed that there was a pack out there that was watching the movements of the Nimbria Pack. In other words, this pack was waiting for the moment when both the Frostholm Pack and the Nimbria Pack were unprepared, waiting for the moment when the Frostholm Pack would fall while the Nimbria Pack was exhausted from the war, and then taking advantage of it.
“So, what are you going to do now?”
Torin was silent for a moment before he answered. “It seems that our plan is going to change a bit. First, we have to deal with the Munest family. I’m not going to let anyone take advantage of all the hard work we’ve put in all this time. Therefore, we must get rid of them all as soon as possible.”
Mireya listened attentively to Torin’s sudden plan. She carefully noted every instruction Torin gave her. Then she said: “Don’t worry, Torin. I will make sure that everything will be done today.”
After the call ended, Mireya found out that Torin had sent her several photos and videos. On them, Addy could be clearly seen talking to a mysterious man, just as Torin had mentioned before.
Mireya immediately took action, just as she had promised Torin. She hurried to Frostholm Palace and met with Usher. She showed him the photos and videos while saying, “The Munest family truly no longer sees you as their Alpha, Usher. Do you see that? Even Addy did not hesitate to kneel before someone else.”
Usher’s face changed. His jaw went completely rigid. His eyes sparkled, reflecting an uncontrollable rage. “How dare they,” he growled in a cold tone that implied anger. “Their actions are unforgivable.”
“Of course, Usher. They don’t deserve your forgiveness,” Mireya said, not wasting the opportunity to provoke Usher. She continued to stir Usher’s emotions. “Now all you have to do is show them who really holds the power here. You must act quickly before this coup spreads further.”
Usher clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles turned white. “You are right, Mireya. I must destroy them all without exception.”
A meaningful smile appeared on Mireya’s face. As she had expected, it was not difficult to provoke Usher. Usher’s reaction was exactly what she had hoped for.
Mireya moved closer. She approached Usher as he sat behind his desk, radiating intense anger. Her fingers brushed over Usher’s shoulders, caressing them from behind, and then she said, “This is a wise decision, Usher, and as you know, I will always help you whenever you want.” Her eyes twinkled mischievously. “I can handle this matter thoroughly.”
