Rosiley stretched out and turned around to look at her equally hardworking colleagues, a satisfied smile appearing on her face.
She stood up and clapped.
Everyone turned around to look at her. She smiled and asked, “Are y’all hungry? Let’s call for something to eat.”
“I am hungry!” Hearing that, Xiao Xu’s hand shot up.
Rosiley could not help but snigger. “since you are the first one to raise your hand, I shall assign you the important task of ordering.”
“I promise to complete my mission!” Xiao Xu responded without hesitation. He walked over to Rosiley’s side with his notebook and asked, “sister Rosiley, what do you want?”
“I don’t need anything. Order anything you want, I will be paying.”
Her words stirred up a delightful commotion within the office.
Rosiley smiled as she looked at the happy face of Xiao Xu. She then slowly walked to the pantry with her.
She was not used to having dinner. Hence, she got herself a cup of milk before walking to the window of the pantry.
The night had fallen and the sky was pitch black without a single source of light. However, in contrast, numerous lights were shining over the land.
sipping her milk, she had a gentle gaze as she stroked the window.
“I wonder if Sachin has reached home?”
“sister Rosiley.”
Hearing someone call her name, she turned around and saw Xiao Xu standing by the door.
“sister Rosiley, someone is calling you.”
Rosiley frowned. “Who could be calling me at such an ungodly hour? Is it Sachin?”
She walked hastily out of the pantry back to her seat to retrieve her phone from her bag. She examined the caller ID as astonishment flashed across her eyes.
It was Yan Xu.
She quickly answered the call. “Hello, I am Rosiley.”
Her polite tone made Yan Xu frown on the other end, his shut lips showing displeasure.
The silence on the other end made Rosiley feel as if he had hung up the call. She quickly checked her phone.
He was still on the line!
She placed the phone back to her ears. “Yan Xu, what do you have for me at such a late hour?”
“Yan Xu, what do you have for me at such a late hour?”
Her question seemed to imply that he couldn’t call her for no reason.
Yan Xu smiled helplessly before slowly opening his mouth. “Rosiley, I am downstairs.”
“Downstairs?” Rosiley frowned. “At the company?”
Rosiley frowned more as the other party responded affirmatively. She had not met him for quite a long time indeed.
However, it would be inappropriate for both of them to meet at such a late hour, especially since he had confessed to her. If Sachin knew that she met Yan Xu at such a late hour, he would perhaps be upset.
However, it would be impolite to ignore him since he had purposefully come over to see her.
After an internal struggle, she took a deep breath and replied, “I will come downstairs.”
Afterward, she hung up and turned to the busy Xiao Xu to say, “I will go out for a while but will be back soon.”
“Sure, please go.” Xiao Xu lifted his head to look at her before lowering it to continue with his busy work.
Rosiley walked hastily out of the company’s building and saw the black SUV parked by the road instantly.
“Is that Yan Xu’s car?”
With this question, she slowly approached the car. Before she reached it, the car window rolled down.
She saw Yan Xu sitting in the back seat and halted before running over.
