The two of them were the only ones left in the room.
They looked at each other. After a long time, Nelly finally spoke up. “Is this what Tony wanted to talk about at first?”
Alpha Kilian glanced at her. He hesitated momentarily, then walked over and brushed his slender fingers through her hair. While cupping her face, he asked, “Would you be disappointed if I said no?”
“If that’s the case, it would be a more fitting explanation of the earlier situation,” Nelly replied flatly. She knew that much.
Alpha Kilian was aware that she was extremely bright. It would only make things look worse if he kept trying to hide it from her.
As he pondered, his gaze remained fixated on her face. “It’s true that what he said is something I’ve secretly been deliberating over, though.”
That single sentence had Nelly a little stunned. She stared at him without saying a word.
“I’ll compensate you for everything I’ve owed you over the years. I won’t skimp on a single thing,” Alpha Kilian promised while looking at her.
“There’s no need for that. I don’t care about such things,” she answered. “How can I say that I love you if I don’t even pay you back?” he countered. “You know I don’t mind,” she insisted.
“But I do,” Alpha Kilian argued. Gazing at her, he promised, “I’ve already owed you once. I don’t want to owe you a second time. I’ll carry out every promise I make to you, Nelly .”
Nelly stared back at him, her lips quirking into a small smile. “Okay.” Alpha Kilian gently brought her in front of him and planted a peck on her forehead.
The woman smiled, then said, “Your injury’s almost completely healed, Alpha Kilian . Let’s go back in another two days. I miss home, and I miss Grandpa.”
For a moment, Alpha Kilian was dazed. Something peculiar flashed across his gaze, but he casually concealed it. Glancing at her, he answered, “Okay!”
“I’ll give Grandpa a call, then, and tell him that we’ll be going back together. I don’t want him to worry,” Nelly explained.
In response, he nodded. “All right.”
“Give me your phone.” She stretched her hand out instantly.
Without hesitation, Alpha Kilian took out his phone and placed it on her palm. After getting it, Nelly turned around to make the call.
He observed her for a moment, then slowly retracted his gaze and headed outside. Meanwhile, Tony was lazily leaning against the wall beside the door.
From time to time, he would check his fingernails and clothes. The boy seemed so relaxed and carefree.
Right then, he looked up and saw Alpha Kilian walking out of the room. “Out so fast?” he asked, raising his eyebrows.
Alpha Kilian stared back at him. This kid is a lot more ruthless than I thought, though I have to admit that he’s also a lot like me.
Without moving his gaze away from his son, Alpha Kilian replied, “I knew you were waiting for me. Of course, I had to come out and have a chat with you.”
At that moment, Tony eyed him. There was a grin on his face. “Daddy, if you’re having second thoughts, I can run into the room now and tell Nelly .”
“You’re threatening me,” Alpha Kilian stated, his gaze still on his son. Tony nodded in a nonchalant manner. “That’s right.”
In response, Alpha Kilian narrowed his eyes.
“Even a vicious tiger will not eat its own cubs, Daddy. I’m your son, so you won’t do anything to me.
What’s the point of this, then? Even if you look at me like that, I’m not scared,” Tony taunted while shaking his head.
The boy had obviously thought it through and planned it all out in detail. However, Alpha Kilian would never let himself be under someone else’s thumb.
At that point, he grabbed Tony with one hand and stared him down. “Indeed, I can’t do anything to you.”
The latter looked back at him with a smug smirk on his face. “Good that you know.” “I heard that you’re ticklish?” Alpha Kilian raised his eyebrows.
When Tony heard that, his eyes widened immediately. “W-Who told you that?”
“It doesn’t matter who told me. What matters is whether it’s true or not,” Alpha Kilian stated. His large hand then slid down to Tony ‘s waist.
The thought of it alone already made Tony feel ticklish. He immediately blurted, “If you do that, I’m going to scream for Nelly , Daddy.”
“It’s not like I’m beating you up. So what if you scream for Nelly ?” Alpha Kilian pointed out.
Just as he was about to start tickling him, Tony quickly got out of his grip while giggling.
When he turned to look back, he was both angry and indignant. “How can you be so unreasonable,
Daddy? I’m helping you, yet you want to bite the hand that feeds you?” “What are you helping me with?” Alpha Kilian asked.
“Getting together with Nelly , obviously. With the words I said earlier, I’d helped resolve the crisis and also aided you. Your relationship with Nelly will progress naturally, am I right?” Tony elaborated.
Alpha Kilian eyed him. “So, you’re saying that I should be thanking you?”
Tony was silent for a moment. “Well, it doesn’t matter if you thank me or not. However, you still can’t bite the hand that feeds you.”
Alpha Kilian chuckled. “Well, since you said it, I suppose I’m going to do just that.”
Upon hearing that, Tony placed a huge distance between the two of them. “How could you say that, Daddy? As an adult, you should be setting a good example for us, right?”
That baffled Alpha Kilian . A good example? Since when do I have to do that?
He continued staring at Tony . In a calm voice, he replied, “You didn’t grow up under my care all these years, yet it seems to me that you share many similarities with me. Obviously, it isn’t because of the example I’ve set. It’s the work of genetic inheritance!”
