The silence in the air was thick, heavy with tension, as Nelly’s lips curled into a slight smile. She knew. She knew all along who was behind it all, who had orchestrated this elaborate plan to bring her here. Boss, with his manipulative ways, had been waiting for this moment, relishing in the power he held over her.
But Nelly saw through his facade. She saw the cunning and darkness lurking beneath Boss’s ordinary exterior. And she wasn’t about to let him use her as a pawn again. Her voice dripped with a mixture of confidence and warning as she spoke, her words laced with a werewolf’s primal instinct.
“You knew who it was from the beginning, but you didn’t want to tell me, all so you could lure me here. You’ve been waiting for today, haven’t you?” Nelly taunted, her eyes gleaming with a predatory glint.
Boss’s gaze met hers, his eyes dark with secrets and reluctance. He refused to admit his intentions, but Nelly saw through his lies. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said, his voice laced with venom.
A mocking smile danced on Nelly’s lips. “It doesn’t matter whether you understand what I’m trying to say,” she countered. “We are even now. If you dare to use me as a pawn again, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”
Boss scanned their surroundings, a hint of uncertainty flickering in his eyes. “You’re in such a dire situation yourself. How are you a threat to me?” he challenged.
Nelly’s response was filled with quiet confidence. “Just wait and see,” she warned, her voice carrying an eerie undertone.
Boss couldn’t decipher the source of Nelly’s assurance, but he knew there was more to her than met the eye. With hidden plans and tricks up her sleeve, he wasn’t willing to divulge the truth just yet. “I admit I wanted to use you in the beginning. However, it was never my intention to harm you,” Boss finally confessed.
Nelly found his words amusing, scoffing at his feeble attempt at justification. “It doesn’t matter whether you believe it or not,” she countered. “General Will wants me to stay here for now. But be warned, I won’t be your pawn anymore.”
As Boss turned to leave, Nelly’s eyes narrowed, unfazed by his departure. She had her own demons to face, her own past to uncover. Her life was a constant battle, haunted by the nightmares of her parents’ demise. Determined and unyielding, she knew her fate would only change once she found the truth.
So who was Boss to judge, to claim she didn’t understand suffering?
Her resolve strengthened, Nelly watched as everyone left the room. Composing herself, she saw an opportunity, noticing a surveillance camera above her head. The idea formed in her mind as she headed towards the door, a steely determination in her eyes.
“I want to go to the restroom,” she declared, her gaze challenging the guards who stood in her way.
The guards chuckled, dismissing her request. “Just relieve yourself here. We won’t look,” one of them jeered.
Nelly’s voice held a hint of authority. “I am not a prisoner,” she retorted. “General Will did not give you permission to mistreat me.”
Caught off guard, the guards stumbled for a response. “We only have male restrooms here,” one of them explained, eyeing Nelly with amusement.
Undeterred, Nelly pulled out some cash. “Surely, these are enough,” she remarked, her eyes glinting with mischief.
Caught by the allure of money, one of the guards approached her. “Well, we do have a vacant restroom… I suppose we could make an exception,” he reluctantly admitted.
Nelly smiled, her voice dripping with cunning. “Lead the way,” she said, her hand hovering over the guard’s awaiting palm.
But Nelly had her own plans, secrets yet to be revealed. And as the guard opened the door, she knew this was just the beginning.
As Nelly was making her way inside, the air was thick with the growls and howls of werewolves. One of the guards, his voice deep and menacing, grumbled, “Why don’t we just knock her out and snatch the money?”
The other guard, his voice filled with caution, responded, “General Will specifically ordered us to keep tabs on her. What if something happens to her? Besides, Boss also asked us to take good care of her. We can’t just defy him right after he leaves, right? Let’s just wait and see.”
The second guard nodded in agreement, his eyes narrowing as he cast a skeptical glance at Nelly’s back. “That wench’s clothes look expensive. I bet she’s rich,” he remarked.
A sinister grin appeared on the first guard’s face. “So, let’s extort money from her while we’re the ones guarding her these two days! Just don’t let anyone else know about this,” he suggested.
The second guard agreed eagerly, his voice laced with malicious intent. “That’s a great idea!”
Their voices carried through the night, their conversation loud enough for Nelly to hear from a distance. It was as if they didn’t care whether she overheard their wicked plans.
Nelly, however, paid no mind to their discussions. A half-smile curled on her lips as she sauntered forward. Initially filled with worry and anxiety, she now saw a glimmer of opportunity. If all they desired was money, then she could use it as a means of escape.
Regret filled her as she realized she hadn’t brought much cash with her, unaware of the treacherous circumstances awaiting her. Pushing those thoughts aside, she continued to make her way inside, her steps deliberate and unhurried.
As Nelly approached the dead end behind the house, the guards showed no concern. They believed she had nowhere to run. Little did they know that Nelly had other plans.
While the guards were engrossed in their conversation, Nelly glanced over her shoulder, ensuring they made no move to pursue her. With a sigh of relief, she turned around, a determined glint in her eyes.
Removing the watch from her wrist, followed by her ring, earrings, and finally her bracelet, Nelly swiftly assembled a small computer. Its screen projected onto the wall before her, revealing a virtual keyboard.
Her smile widened as she glanced at the keyboard, her fingers moving swiftly as she set everything up. She knew time was of the essence.
Using Morse code, Nelly transmitted her urgent message to Tony, hoping he would receive it. She informed him of the impending danger and urged him to inform Alpha Kilian, emphasizing the need for caution and a substantial amount of money.
Unexpectedly, a quick response from Tony arrived. Relief washed over Nelly as she deciphered the coded numbers, a method they often used to communicate.
“You’re there?” she replied, her fingers flying across the virtual keyboard.
Tony, excited to hear from Nelly, eagerly responded, “I’ve been waiting for your news.”
With limited time, Nelly informed him that she was currently at Midnight Fang Pack and unable to exchange further messages. She stressed the need for Tony to protect himself and relayed all the crucial information to Alpha Kilian.
Anxiety dripped from Tony’s words as he questioned when they could rescue her. Nelly assured him that she was close to uncovering the truth and asked them to wait patiently.
“Be careful!” Nelly desperately wanted to say more, but she knew brevity was essential.
“Got it,” Tony responded, his determination palpable.
Before she could finish, a deep voice interrupted her. “Are you done?”
Nelly stole a quick glance behind her, sending off one final message to Tony: “I’m going offline now!” With deft movements, she disassembled the computer and transformed it back into her accessories.
Satisfied with her covert actions, Nelly slowly exited the house, her steps silent and purposeful. The guards, too consumed by their own greed, failed to notice anything amiss.
Approaching them, Nelly spoke softly, gratitude lacing her voice. “Thank you.”
Their attention shifted momentarily, their fingers rubbing together expectantly. Nelly smiled knowingly, handing them the promised cash.
Finally, a flicker of satisfaction crossed the guards’ faces as they spoke in unison, “Let’s go.”
Meanwhile, back at Tony’s location, having received Nelly’s messages, he and Ben prepared to deliver the information to Alpha Kilian. As they entered his room, they noticed Alpha Kilian engaged in a heated phone call. Dave, a silent figure in the background, motioned for them to remain quiet.
Tony, his gaze fixed on his father, stammered, “Daddy, was that Boss?”
Alpha Kilian’s eyes burned with fury as he nodded curtly. “Yes.”
Tony, determined to share Nelly’s messages, spoke up. “Daddy, Nelly sent me a few messages just now.” Alpha Kilian’s attention sharpened, his gaze piercing through Tony.
Anxiously, Tony relayed the information he received, the urgency evident in his voice. As Tony spoke of General Will, the agreement with Boss, and the impending demand for a substantial sum of money, Alpha Kilian’s anger escalated.
“How can I believe you?” Alpha Kilian’s voice was filled with suspicion. “I don’t care about the amount of money, but I want her to be handed over once I pay you.”
After a moment’s pause, Alpha Kilian continued, his voice steeped in defiance. “What right do I have? Why do you care? We do not share the same goal here. I’m just saving a damsel in distress, and you’re after the money. I can choose to call off the deal at any time, but you’re not going to be able to find another buyer who can offer you such a good deal. I’m only going to give you half an hour to consider my offer. Forget it if you don’t agree to my terms.”
With that, Alpha Kilian abruptly ended the call, his grip on the phone tightening.
“Daddy, how is she doing?” Tony’s voice trembled with concern, hoping for reassurance.
His gaze softening, Alpha Kilian glanced at Tony. “She’s all right,” he replied. Tony noticed his father’s eyes flicker towards the phone and added, “But I think you’ve already heard what she wanted to tell you from Boss himself. In addition, Nelly mentioned that Boss and General Will have reached an agreement and will brazenly demand a huge sum of money. Also, it seems like Midnight Fang Pack lacks funding.”
The tension in the room grew, the gravity of the situation weighing heavily on their shoulders. The fight for survival and the imminent clash with Boss intensified, leaving them with no choice but to face their adversaries head-on.
