Williams always had a slight furrow in his brow and said with some concern, “Mom really likes this Lisa.”
“Do you like her?” Jane asked.
The man focused on her, thought for a moment, and then seriously answered his wife’s question, “You can’t tell a person’s character just from their resume; it takes time to get to know them.”
“What was your first impression?” Jane asked again.
“She is quite pretty,” Williams replied frankly. “But any girl who can win over my mom must be very capable; she’s not just an innocent little rabbit.”
Jane laughed.
She raised an eyebrow, took a step toward her husband, and then closed the book in front of him. “There’s a girl named Bubu. As for her relationship with Tom, I’m not sure, but they are definitely more than just friends.”
Williams was slightly stunned, hearing this for the first time. He looked up at her, “How did you find out?”
“This morning when he went out for a run, he left his phone with the butler, who then gave it to me. Early in the morning, this girl named Bubu sent him a message, and it was a video.”
“Also, Tom’s cat named Bubu is being taken care of by her.”
The cat is like family to their son; he wouldn’t trust just anyone to take care of it.
And since both are named Bubu… there must be a story behind this.
“Things are not complicated right now,” Jane told him. “Let’s stay neutral and not help anyone. Let’s meet this Bubu first.”
Williams did not object to his wife’s suggestion.
In the yard.
Lisa sat with Grandma on wicker chairs. They played chess, drank tea, and chatted while the air was filled with the fragrance of roses and a gentle breeze blew by, making it very pleasant.
After finishing a game of chess, which Lisa won again, Grandma was particularly happy.
“Lisa, I love playing chess with you the most.”
Mrs. Fritz had told her this many times because when she played chess with others, they would always let her win due to her status. But Lisa didn’t do that.
So with Lisa, Mrs. Fritz felt respected. Their chess skills were evenly matched, and she enjoyed this feeling.
“Grandma, who is that man washing the car?” Lisa asked sharply, taking advantage of the moment when no one else was around.
She thought that if she were lucky enough to marry into the Fritz family in the future, understanding the relationships within the estate would be beneficial to her.
The old lady looked up towards the distance-
A tall and thin middle-aged man in a suit was washing a car himself.
He was washing Williams’ car.
As he wiped the water droplets off the car with a cloth, it was as if he was treating a treasure with great care.
It showed his attitude towards his work but also indicated that he wasn’t an ordinary servant.
Both of their gazes fell on the man washing the car.
Mrs. Fritz answered kindly, “His name is Jeffery. He is a distant relative of the Fritz family. When Tom worked at the company before, Jeffery was always by his side as his driver and bodyguard and also served as his mentor in life.”
It seemed that Jeffery must be someone who knew Tom Fritz’s emotional situation well?
So Lisa made note of Jeffery’s appearance.
After playing two more games of chess with Grandma, she said she was feeling a bit tired and wanted to take a nap.
“Grandma, let me help you inside,” Lisa quickly offered as she helped her up.
“No need to help; I can manage myself,” seeing through her thoughts perhaps. The old lady said to her kindly, “Are you thinking of going to Jeffery to learn more about Tom?”
Lisa smiled without answering.
The old lady was very understanding and said with a smile, “Go ahead; don’t worry about me. While Tom isn’t back yet, have a good chat with Jeffery and get to know him better so I can be at ease too.”
“Alright.” Lisa’s smile was as sweet as honey. “Thank you for understanding me so well.”
