Chapter 57: Lost in love

Book:His Unwanted Bride (Married by Mistake) Published:2024-11-1

Adrian was driving back home. He must finish the business of the day. He feels his heart stiff from emotions and the realisation of what Lola has done to him was not so important as fetching the mole put among his men.
So it was Sabastian who had something to do with grandfather’s attack? He sabotaged his contracts, fuck his supposed woman and even hurt his grandfather. He would get back at him, certainly, he would bring him down to zero level.
As he drove into the vast compound of the Lester mansion, he felt being at home again but not a part of the home. Whatever he does now, he is doing it as Richard Lester’s son and not being a Lester himself. Grandfather has disowned him.
Everyone stepped out of the mansion, security officials quickly surrounded him and he alighted from the car, looking slimmer than he was.
“Richard, Richard, Adrian is home” Anna chimed, going over to hug her son when the latter raised a hand and stopped her from coming any closer.
“Where are others?” He asked, directing his question to one of the securities standing by. He wants them to gather together first before fetching the culprit out.
“They’ve been sanctioned and suspended” the security replied and Adrian paused, sanctioned? Can it be that his dad had suspected the culprit and already had him interrogated?
“Your father investigated everything that happened and when the securities were interrogated, he found out that Nathaniel was working for someone and he attempted to murder your grandfather…” Anna explained.
Adrian sighed softly. He’d always been a failure. What he locked himself up to do for days was what his father did from his comfort zone.
“Your father is in his study” Anna said, praying silently that Adrian steps in and he does without another word. But when he got closer to his father’s study, he heard his conversation with his grandfather.
“… but Adrian would not listen. He lost himself in love with that woman. I told him I needed to see him urgently without knowing they had something up their sleeves for me.
Even if I do not accept her to be Adrian’s woman because he was married, I do not expect to see her with another man. That’s what brought about the attack..” grandfather’s voice echoed in Adrian’s ears.
He squinted. That definitely was Lola. He was the only one who couldn’t see because he was indeed lost in love with that bitch. He had seen her with another man and wanted to inform him but before he could, they attempted to murder him and conceal it.
“If Ava hadn’t stepped in on time which made Nathaniel take to his heels, he would have stabbed me a second time and I wouldn’t have survived. Ava saved me. Adrian’s girlfriend wanted me dead but his wife saved me…” grandfather concluded.
“He has confessed to the crime but has refused to expose his master. He prefers to face the consequences alone than mention his name…” Richard was explaining when Adrian stepped in.
“Sabastian Walker is the man he’s working for” he blurted as his fathers both turned and shifted their gaze on him.

Clara laid down on her bed but her thoughts were wildly roaming around and she was afraid to accept that the woman was indeed her daughter.
Besides her classical wears and adornments, she was everything Ava was. The voice, the looks, the emotional display of tears and even calling her momma.
Can Ava probably still be alive? But the social media were all over the place with the news of the fire outbreak in prison until she was told the only victim in the accident was her daughter.
Why does it have to be her? Aren’t there other people there, why would it be Ava? If that woman calls again, she would say a word to her. A word that only herself and Ava usually say to each other.
How she wants to believe that she’s in her real senses and that this whole thing wasn’t happening in her imagination alone.
4 years later
Adrian Lester stood before Ava Leon’s grave side with a bouquet of flowers
He was dressed in a black trench coat, and a dark shade. Everything about him from his head to his toes were black except his fair facial complexion exposed.
A little grave was erected too, which belonged to his unborn baby. Since it couldn’t see the life of this life, the least he could do was prepare him or her a resting place.
It has been the tradition of him after Ava Leon died to always dedicate that day to her and his unborn baby. His appearance on such days is always cladded only in black.
Though his family couldn’t stay with him at the graveside, they will all come and drop flowers and wish her perfect rest in the great beyond.
But Adrian always spends the entire day with her. The cemetery guards are used to seeing him from dawn to dusk on that particular day and wondered if there are men who still love their wives even till death like CEO Adrian Lester.
And the next day after, Adrian would always visit the orphanage homes in New Jersey to celebrate with them. He calls it Ava’s day. And every year, they would anticipate his coming.
On this day, Adrian went on his knees before her grave and said “Ava my dear…” he paused and fresh tears cascaded down his cheeks.
