Chapter 43: Is he my son?

Book:His Unwanted Bride (Married by Mistake) Published:2024-11-1

Richard Lester arrived home. He was fuming with rage. So it really ended this way? Sam Leon died at the Lester mansion and at Adrian’s presence?
When did he become so irresponsible that he couldn’t raise his own son properly. What happened to him? Is it wealth that controls him or his love for Lola?
How can he be so obsessed with another woman while being married? Even if Sam Leon wasn’t Ava’s father, shouldn’t he respect him as an elder and a former employee of their home?
How can he treat that man that way, how can he deny him the privilege of being with his daughter even in death? How can Adrian become so inhumane? How , how?
Richard shed tears for Sam Leon. He’d done them a great favour in this life and they couldn’t appreciate him for that, rather they made him regret his actions at death.
Anna is responsible for Adrian’s attitude. She’d always see everything right with whatever he does. What had Sam Leon and his wife done to her, and what has Ava done to her in her past life that she decided to taunt her so much in this life?
Ava saved his father. He hadn’t heard the real story but father said Ava saved him and pleaded with him to take care of her until he fully recovers. How can he tell his father that Ava is dead and it can only be traced to the help she rendered to him.
Does it mean one shouldn’t be good again in this life? If one is kind, would that kindness ruin the person? It would deprive the person of happiness at the latter end?
That’s exactly what his family had portrayed. The Lester family are inhumane and they treated the Leon’s family bad for the good they’ve done to them. Why did this happen to them?
Richard wished he could turn back the hands of time. Neither Sam Leon nor his daughter deserves this treatment. They don’t at all. And now they are both dead and nothing can be done to reverse what has been done.
Caught in between, Anna couldn’t stay with her son in the hall to mourn his wife. She needed to return home to find Richard. He is broken and disappointed in Adrian.
She soon left and Adrian alone was left. Close to midnight he also left but instructed that the candles should be left on and should be changed as the need arises.
When he got home, his parents were in a fight. His dad was mad and said he wished he didn’t marry his mother because she’s the reason why this evil has befallen his family.
As soon as Adrian stepped in, his father shifted his gaze on him, staring at him like a predator would do before attacking his prey. He gnashed his teeth.
“Adrian, stop right there and listen to me” His father thundered and he stopped. Never in his life has he seen his father in such a fit of rage before.
“Am I your father huh, did I give birth to you, tell me if you are a product of my seed or you’re a bastard?” Richard fumed, going over and pulling him by his collars and violently pushed him into a sofa.
As Adrian was yanked into the sofa, he shrugged and wanted to get back on his feet when Richard lashed him a deafening slap and Adrian was puzzled, his father hit him?
“Richard!” Anna yelled and went forward when Richard turned his gaze on her “If you come another step closer I will choke you to death and you will be a companion to Sam and Ava Leon” He threatened, his eyes reddened in fury.
“You’re just hit my son,” Anna snapped at him. She saw how dazed Adrian was. He’d never raised a finger on him all his life and now, he slapped him? Does he want him to go deaf?
“Tell me, is Adrian my son or son of that wretched boyfriend of yours? He’s your son but it’s not certain if he is my son. If Adrian is my son, this meanness wouldn’t be there. Is he my son?” Richard thundered, walking away from Adrian towards Anna.
“Of course he is your son. And you’re just asking now, after twenty six years of his birth, it just dawned on you to question my faithfulness?
You’ve just insulted me, Richard. If you think he is not your son, go for a paternity test to ascertain that. But don’t you ever ask me that question again”Anna seethed.
To ask her such a question before her son Adrian, baffles her. He’d reduced her self worth before her son. She’s not going to take it from him.
“Please dad…” Adrian wants to come in when Richard thundered “Who invited you into this matter. You sit there and don’t move until I get back to you, idiot”
Turning his gaze on Anna he said “Oh I should go for a paternity test, right? I don’t need to do that. I only wondered why your heartlessness was all that you incubated into him.
Adrian’s attitude is nothing like me. The Lester family doesn’t produce senseless beings like him. There’s too much deposit of your inhumanity in him.
And you expressed it to the full dose in your hatred towards Ava Leon. You called her a poor tramp, you said her parents used her to get access to our Lester family.
When I met you, was that father of yours able to afford a bicycle? Can he put two meals on your table per day? Did I not pick you up and polish you?
Did my mother remind you that you are a worthless good for nothing product of two poor people? Did she?
But you taunted Ava so much that the poor woman has to demand for a divorce. Isn’t Sam Leon better than your father? And yet, you addressed him so horribly?
I watched the surveillance. I saw what happened. I heard what you said. You promised that Ava Leon would die in prison and it happened. I will have this whole matter investigated.
If I found out that everything that happened to Ava Leon was orchestrated, I won’t spare you. I won’t find out who did it, I’ll have you jailed for murder”
Shifting his gaze on Adrian, he continued “That Man begged you to save his daughter and you refused. He was sure of the innocence of his daughter and you shoved it aside.
You hated her simply because she was married to you. She hadn’t hurt or crossed you before and you wish you could smoke life out of her and you succeeded.
And you erected a mourning hall for the woman you’d always wish to die? The one you and your mother dehumanised? Why was I stupid to accompany you there until Patrick spoke some sense into me?
And now, you want to know what that family has done for us, why my father insisted that his grandson marry their daughter, do you want to know?” Richard asked, shifting his gaze from Adrian to Anna.
“This idiot seated here, called Adrian, is alive today, thanks to Sam Leon and his wife sacrificing their own child for him!” Richard blurted.
