“What is more challenging about it, is if she would accept us as her family. Will she accept me as her mother? Wouldn’t she think so despicable about her mother and think that I didn’t love her?
You all see what my worries are all about? My only daughter, separated from me from birth. How will she feel now, what would she think, that we abandoned her and didn’t love her?
How can a mother do that to her own daughter? How will I probably have lived all these years at ease when my daughter is under the roof of another woman as her mother?
If I had died when giving birth to her, perhaps it would have been better…” Nancy Blake was tattering and her emotions let loose, her voice choked and she started sobbing.
Jimmy massaged the space between his eyes. “Oh Mom, why are you blaming yourself unnecessarily? This is not your fault at all. The hospital has been sued already and they will pay a huge compensation for what they’ve made this family go through” he declared.
“Jimmy is right. You should stop blaming yourself. What is important now is our daughter’s well being. We’ll find her and bring her home. Every one of us will be happy as a family, that I promise you” Simon coaxed.

In jail, Luna Wesley was tossing back and forth, she seemed to be waiting for someone. Soon, the officer who helped her get information about Sam Leon’s death, signal to her and she whispered to Ava “come with me”
The naive Ava followed and Luna took her to a quiet corridor and picked a phone under a cabinet and said “Talk to your mom” she said and was looking around, taking surveillance for her.
Ava was dazed. How did she do it, how did she succeed in getting a phone? But more than being surprised, she was excited. She’s going to get to talk with her momma.
She knew her parents cell phone number off hand and she dialled it. It was answered and Ava was quiet until she heard her mother’s voice ” Hello, This is Clara Leon” she introduced herself.
“Momma…” Ava said and started sobbing. Her mother’s voice sounded so distant and faint. How is she feeling now?
When Clara heard the voice, she knew who it was. Her eyes welled up with tears and she stood up, leaving the few people who had paid her a condolence visit and went to her bedroom.
As soon as she shut the door and said “Ava, are you still there? Your papa is gone, he’d left us. I know what Adrian and his mom had done to you…” she was saying, wanting to empty everything out of her heart to Ava at a time.
“Momma, tell me, did Adrian kill my Papa? Did he suffocate him with injurious words until his weak heart couldn’t bear it? Did he hurt my Papa and let him die?” Ava asked.
Papa had been trying to stay strong and happy. He’d wished to stay alive for her and her momma. How can her papa die so suddenly after Adrian has come to threaten her that he’d ruined them.
“Adrian Lester and his mother are the worst humans that ever crossed this earth. Your Papa died at the feet of Adrian Lester. For what they did to you and to your Papa, may they experience pain all their lives…” Clara said, not remembering to ask Ava what led her to jail.
“I promise you momma, if I come out of this prison alive, I will not let Adrian off. I’ll take revenge on him and his mother for what they’ve done to my Papa…” she declared and started sobbing.
“Tell me Ava, did you do what Adrian accused you of? Did you try to hurt the old man of the Lester family?” Clara asked, she knew her daughter couldn’t do it but all the same she asked anyway.
“Someone hurt grandfather Lester and I went to rescue him. I don’t know..” Ava was saying when Luna suddenly took the phone away from her, hung up and threw it inside her trouser.
“You should behave yourself here. Don’t think that because you are new here and beautiful, you can carry yourself with the hair of fragility, I’ll break your bones, anyone who dares to cross me, I’ll bite and scratch them with my nails…” Luna Wesley was saying, poking Ava’s chin with her fingers.
Ava was lost. What had she done to Luna? Aren’t they friends already? She was staring at her strangely wondering why the sudden lecture when she heard footsteps.
“Hey, don’t try to hurt that woman. You’re a notorious woman and I don’t know why you’re still alive. A criminal like you ought to have been dead, a long time ago..”An officer bellowed.
“And are you going to hasten my death by pulling the trigger huh? And don’t you dare refer to me as a criminal. Next time you do so, I’ll pluck your eyes out and then agree to be called a criminal” Luna threatened arrogantly.
Oh! She knows now, why Luna acted weird, she was actually protecting her from being caught. She sighed softly and replied “I am not afraid of you” and snorted before walking past Luna with a loud hiss.
