Sarah pov
After that ridiculous ball, Alessia has decided to create chaos by humiliating me. I intended to remain composed in the mansion and devise another plan to sabotage Harper’s relationship with Ethan. I can’t bear the thought of seeing them together, living their so-called happy ending.
As I stood on the balcony, gripping the railing tightly, my anger simmered at the sight of the love triangle involving those three foolish people: Alessia, Harper, and my childhood crush, Alpha Ethan, all caught up in their football antics.
The cool night air did little to soothe the storm brewing inside me. My knuckles turned white as I held onto the railing, frustration boiling over. The stars above seemed to taunt me, sparkling like the diamonds adorning Harper’s neck, a constant reminder of her place in Ethan’s life.
I replayed the ball’s events in my mind: Alessia’s plotting, Harper’s innocent smile, and Ethan’s protective demeanor. The sight of them together ignited a fire within me. How could he choose her? She paled in comparison to my wit, beauty, and cunning.
Alessia’s quest for revenge was the perfect opportunity for me. I would stoke the flames, direct the chaos, and revel in the downfall of Harper’s chances with Ethan. The mere thought sent a thrill through me.
“Sarah!” Alessia’s voice broke my thoughts as she approached the balcony, her footsteps light on the stairs. I knew she could sense my turmoil.
I turned to face her, locking eyes with her playful grin. “What is it?” I asked, my voice low and filled with intrigue.
Alessia started, her eyes gleaming with mischief. “Let’s talk about rumors. You’re hurting to see my brother living his life, but guess what? That pain will linger because he’ll never love you.” She sneered, her gaze fixed on me.
Her words pierced through me like a knife, twisting painfully in my chest. I felt my cheeks flush, but I stood my ground.
“You think you’re so smart, don’t you?” I retorted, my tone sharp. “But you’ll never grasp what Ethan and I have.”
Alessia laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “Oh, I get it just fine. You’re fixated on something that’s out of reach.”
My fists tightened, but I maintain my composure.
“Tell me, Alessia,” I said, my voice laced with contempt, “what’s your interest in this? Why are you so invested in Harper and Ethan’s relationship?”
For a brief moment, her smile wavered before she regained her confident smirk.
“Let’s just say I have my reasons,” she replied. “Now, are you ready to start living your own life? Staying in the mansion is dragging you down.”
I inhaled deeply, channeling my frustration into resolve.
“Don’t you have better things to do?” I shot back, glaring at her with disdain.
The most crucial aspect of my time will always be you. I can’t take my eyes off you because of your blend of foolishness and cleverness. She whispered, her tone serious.
Alessia’s gaze locked onto mine, sharp and penetrating. Her words lingered, thick with defiance.
“Your animosity drives me,” she murmured, her voice just above a whisper, barely cutting through the rapid beat of my heart. “But remember, Amanda: my allegiance lies with Ethan, not you.”
My glare deepened, every muscle in my face tightening. Alessia remained composed, yet her eyes sparkled with mockery.
“You’re consumed by your fixation,” she pressed on, her words slicing into me. “Ethan will never care for you, no matter how much you try to ruin Harper.”
My hands balled into fists, nails digging into my skin. The pain was trivial compared to the fury igniting inside me.
“I’ll show you,” I hissed, my voice low and threatening. “You’ll regret getting in my way.”
Alessia’s smile twisted, her lips curling in amusement.
“We’ll see,” she replied, turning to walk away.
As she departed, a wave of anger surged through me. How could she disregard my feelings? How could she obstruct my path?
I charged after her, my footsteps reverberating through the mansion’s corridor. The portraits lining the walls seemed to scrutinize me, their gazes filled with judgment.
“Alessia, stop!” I shouted, my voice reverberating off the marble floors.
She turned sharply, her eyes filled with defiance.
“Complete what you began, Sarah,” she sneered, malice dripping from her words. “Or are you just empty threats?”
My frustration boiled over, years of pain and resentment spilling out.
She stormed away, and I immediately retreated to my room, slamming the door behind me without a second thought.
I leaned against the door, my chest rising and falling rapidly. Alessia’s mocking laughter echoed in my mind.
Rage surged through me, but I fought to keep it in check.
Taking a deep breath, I surveyed the room.
The once comforting walls now felt like a prison.
I began to pace, attempting to quell the turmoil inside.
But memories plagued me.
Ethan’s smile, Harper’s laughter, Alessia’s taunts.
My phone buzzed, shattering the silence.
A text from an Alessia number:
“You’ll never have Ethan. He belongs to me and Harper.”
Her words sliced through me like a knife.
My anger flared anew.
I typed back quickly:
Why not marry your brother, you lonely fool?
Alessia replied instantly.
“You’re pathetic, Sarah. Your jealousy is consuming you.”
My eyes burned with fury.
“How dare you!” I typed back. “You know nothing!”
The phone buzzed again.
I tossed it aside.
Time dragged on.
Agony.
Anger bubbled up inside me. I needed to clear my head in the bathtub.
I walked into the bathroom, the cool marble floor refreshing against my bare feet. The mirror showed a face I barely recognized eyes fiery, skin heated.
I turned on the faucet, water rushing into the tub. Bubbles formed as I added lavender bath salts.
Steam filled the air, enveloping the space.
I stripped off my clothes and lowered myself into the soothing water.
With my eyes shut, I exhaled deeply.
The warmth penetrated my muscles, relieving some of the tension.
Yet, my thoughts remained restless.
