Harper pov
I stood next to the stovetop, preparing my favorite chicken sauce for breakfast. Although I had enjoyed pancakes with Ethan, it was not sufficient to satisfy my appetite. As soon as he departed for work, I hurried to the kitchen to create the chicken dish.
As I stirred the rich sauce, its enticing aroma filled the air, causing my stomach to rumble in anticipation. I reflected, “Pancakes with Ethan were enjoyable, but this-this is the true breakfast.”
I added a pinch of paprika, my secret touch, and observed the sauce as it simmered to perfection. My taste buds rejoiced, and I eagerly awaited the moment to indulge.
Just as I was about to serve myself, I heard the front door click shut. Ah, freedom! With Ethan gone, the kitchen-and my cherished chicken sauce-was entirely mine.
I played my creation, took a fork, and savored that first bite… sheer bliss! The flavors burst forth, prompting a satisfied “mmm” to escape my lips. This was my sanctuary.
As I relished my breakfast, I mused, “Who needs pancakes when chicken sauce is available?” Certainly not me! I enjoyed each mouthful, embracing the solitude and the simple joy of a meal crafted to my liking.
At that moment, my phone vibrated with a message from Ethan: “Hey, left in a rush. Hope you’re having a great morning.”
A playful smile crossed my face as I thought, “You have no idea how wonderful my morning has become.” I quickly replied, “Morning’s improved significantly since you left,” adding a winking emoji for emphasis.
With my hunger finally satisfied, I leaned back against the counter, feeling a sense of contentment and already contemplating my next culinary endeavor. Whatever the rest of the day held, one thing was clear-this breakfast was unparalleled!
As I was about to leave the dining area, a kiss on my neck rendered me momentarily paralyzed. “Who is it?” I inquired softly.
Another kiss followed, accompanied by hands that ventured beneath my bosom. “What on earth!” I exclaimed, spinning around in surprise. “You didn’t go to work?!”
“I couldn’t bear to be away from you, Harper,” Ethan confessed, gazing at me with an endearing expression.
I stood there, taken aback, my eyes fixed on Ethan’s playful smile. “You clever, alpha male!” I remarked, attempting to comprehend the unexpected situation.
Ethan laughed, his eyes glinting with mischief. “Guilty as charged,” he replied, his hands still resting on my waist.
I playfully swatted his chest. “You claimed you had to work! I thought I would have the entire day to myself.”
Ethan shrugged, looking somewhat contrite. “I know, but I simply couldn’t stop thinking about you and that delectable chicken sauce.”
I raised an eyebrow in disbelief. “You returned the sauce?”
Ethan’s expression shifted to one of desire. “No, Harper. I returned for you.”
My heart raced as he drew me closer, his lips nearly touching mine, sending a delightful shiver through me.
Just as the moment intensified, my phone rang, its sound sharp and persistent. I hesitated, but the allure of Ethan’s lips urged me to disregard it.
The ringing ceased, only to resume moments later. This time, I acquiesced. “I must answer this,” I said, breathless.
Ethan released his grip on me, his gaze sharpening. “Who is it?”
I glanced at the screen, and a wave of despair washed over me. “It’s Lucas.”
Ethan’s demeanor shifted, darkening with intensity. “Answer it,” he commanded, his tone low.
Taking a steadying breath, I responded, “Hello?”
“Harper, my dear,” Alpha Luca’s velvety voice flowed through the receiver. “I am aware that you are involved with someone new, but I must see you. It is urgent.”
I met Ethan’s eyes, noting the tension in his clenched jaw. “What do you want, Lucas?” I inquired with determination.
“Nothing, just missing you,” I retorted angrily before abruptly ending the call and tossing my phone onto the couch. I wanted to focus on Ethan. I desire you; this is my first time, but I want you.
Turning to Ethan, I locked my gaze with his and inhaled deeply. “I am finished with Lucas and his manipulations. I want you, Ethan. Completely.”
Ethan’s eyes blazed with intensity, his jaw still tight from the earlier conversation. “Harper, are you certain?” he asked, his voice deep and husky.
I nodded, my heart pounding. “I have never been more certain. I want my first experience to be with you.”
A possessive gleam flickered in Ethan’s eyes as he pulled me into his embrace, his lips crashing onto mine. The kiss was fierce, filled with passion and urgency.
As we separated to catch our breath, Ethan’s voice trembled with emotion. “I will make it unforgettable, Harper. I promise.”
He lifted me effortlessly and carried me to his bedroom, his gaze unwavering. The tension between us was electric, and I could sense the significance of this moment.
As he carefully placed me on the bed, a flutter of excitement surged within me. Ethan’s hands explored my body, igniting a warmth beneath my skin.
“You are stunning, Harper,” he murmured, his lips grazing my neck.
I leaned into his touch, my body responding eagerly to his every movement. “Ethan, please,” I implored, my voice barely above a whisper.
He hesitated, his gaze searching mine. “I want to make this perfect for you.”
I nodded, my heart brimming with emotion. “You already are.”
With gentle precision, Ethan led me into the realm of the unknown, his touch sparking a fire deep within me. As our bodies intertwined, I experienced a profound sense of wholeness, as if two pieces of a puzzle had finally come together.
In that instant, I realized I belonged to him, just as he belonged to me.
However, as we revealed in the aftermath, Ethan’s phone vibrated on the nightstand.
He sighed, reluctance evident on his face. “I need to take this.”
I nodded, my breath still quickening.
Ethan answered, his demeanor shifting to one of concern. “What?”
A brief silence followed.
“What do you mean Lucas is at the door?”
My heart plummeted.
Ethan’s gaze met mine, a fierce resolve igniting within him. “Stay here, Harper. I will take care of this.”
With that, he exited the room, leaving me to ponder what Lucas might have in store.
