“Boss!” one of Anthony’s men shouted, his face pale and ashen after receiving a phone call. The voice on the other end, filled with panic, informed him about the raid on their operation. “Our goods… the police have seized everything!”
“Damn it!” Anthony growled.
Anthony’s gaze locked onto Daniel, who stood calmly in front of him, a triumphant smile etched on his lips.
“Was this your doing too?” Anthony hissed, his voice trembling with barely contained rage.
Daniel shrugged, his smile thin, a cold mockery playing on his lips. His actions, full of disdain, seemed to confirm that he was the mastermind behind the destruction of Anthony’s plans. “You should retire from your shady business. Take a break and accept your punishment now.”
Anthony clenched his fists, the veins in his hands bulging. Hatred burned in his eyes, gnawing at the remnants of his patience.
Meanwhile, outside the warehouse, police officers, armed with rifles and pistols, had surrounded the building. The sound of their footsteps grew closer, surging into the warehouse.
“You think you can escape us, Anthony?” one of the officers shouted, his voice echoing through the warehouse. “You’re surrounded!”
Anthony snorted, his eyes blazing like embers, struggling to contain his anger towards Daniel. He glanced at his men with a determined look.
“We’ll break through!” Anthony shouted confidently, his voice booming through the warehouse. “We’ll take them all down!” His hand reached for the pistol at his waist, ready for battle.
Anthony, his eyes flashing with rage, led his men to grab their weapons. The warehouse door creaked open, revealing a scene outside already filled with armed police. The warehouse finally became a vortex of chaos. Gunshots echoed, metal clanged, and screams filled the air.
Bullets flew through the warehouse, clashing with return fire from the police. The warehouse transformed into a battlefield, filled with smoke and the smell of gunpowder, a fight for survival.
“Anthony, drop your weapon!” one of the officers shouted.
Meanwhile, Daniel and Sean, injured, struggled against Anthony’s men who wouldn’t let them escape their clutches. Daniel, battered and exhausted, refused to give up, and neither did Sean. The only thing on Daniel’s mind was protecting Emily and getting out of this chaos.
As they managed to break free from the grip of Anthony’s men, Daniel and Sean ran towards Emily and Sophia, who were tied up in the corner of the room. Their breaths came in ragged gasps, cold sweat dripping down their foreheads. They charged towards Anthony’s men who tried to stop them. A brawl ensued, their hands clashing, producing loud impact sounds.
“Go, Dan! Save Emily and my mother!” Sean shouted, his voice strained. He grabbed a piece of wood he had discarded earlier, swinging it quickly to fight off Anthony’s men who tried to attack him.
Daniel ran towards Emily, his heart pounding. With a swift movement, he untied the ropes binding Emily’s hands and feet.
Amidst the commotion of the shootout between Anthony’s men and the police, Anthony took advantage of the situation to escape through the back door of the warehouse. However, his gaze stopped him in his tracks when he saw Daniel still busy untying Emily’s ropes.
Anthony immediately pointed his gun at Daniel, who was still busy untying Emily’s ropes, oblivious to the danger lurking behind him. The bullet in his gun was ready to fire.
Emily, realizing that Anthony was about to shoot Daniel, pushed him away, shielding him with her own body. A stifled scream escaped Emily’s lips as Anthony’s bullet flew, piercing her chest.
The gunshot echoed through the room. Daniel froze, his eyes wide, unable to believe what had just happened. Pain shot through Emily’s entire body, her breath coming in ragged gasps.
“Daniel…” she whispered, her voice weakening before her body finally collapsed in front of Daniel.
Daniel, shocked, only realized what had happened when he embraced Emily’s body. Fresh blood flowed onto his hands, staining his clothes. “Emily, no! Emily!” he cried, his voice strained, filled with panic.
Daniel’s eyes glared at Anthony, who seemed surprised that the bullet hadn’t hit Daniel. A moment later, a triumphant smile spread across Anthony’s lips as he saw how vulnerable Daniel was, realizing that Emily had taken the bullet for him.
Anthony immediately ran towards the back door of the warehouse, leaving his men still battling the police.
Several police officers who realized this rushed out, gunshots echoing in the air as they chased after the fleeing Anthony. Sean and Sophia stood frozen in place, their faces pale and ashen as they realized that Emily had been shot.
Sean, his eyes blazing with anger, turned to Anthony’s men in front of him. With swift and brutal movements, he struck them one by one with the wood in his hand, ignoring the pain they inflicted on him. Each blow was filled with rage, reflecting the pain he felt at seeing Emily lying helpless, blood pooling beneath her body.
Daniel’s eyes welled up, staring at Emily’s pale face. He hugged her tightly, trying to stop the bleeding. “Emily, hold on,” he whispered, his voice trembling, filled with panic. “Don’t leave me.”
Daniel kissed Emily’s forehead, trying to calm her. “Please, hold on.”
Emily tried to speak, her lips moving, but only a ragged gasp came out. The bullet that had pierced her chest made it difficult for her to breathe. Daniel felt his body trembling, fear gripping his heart.
“I love you, Emily,” Daniel said, his voice laced with deep sorrow.
Emily smiled weakly, her eyes meeting Daniel’s tear-filled gaze. Her smile seemed to absorb all the pain that was attacking her body. After seven years of being apart, and only now did she hear the word ‘love’ come from Daniel’s lips again. She thought Daniel had forgotten their love, but it turned out that feeling was still etched in his heart.
“Emily, you can hear me, right? I’m sorry, I couldn’t protect you. I couldn’t… save you,” Daniel said, his voice trembling.
Emily shook her head weakly, her cold fingers touching Daniel’s cheek, which was wet with tears. “G-Grace…” she whispered softly, her voice barely audible.
“Please… love and care for her. She’s your daughter,” Emily whispered weakly, the pain making it increasingly difficult for her to speak. Her eyes stared deeply into Daniel’s eyes, as if entrusting all hope for their daughter’s future in Daniel’s hands.
“Daniel…” Emily whispered. Pain crept through her body, but she tried hard to look into Daniel’s tear-filled eyes.
“I love you,” Emily continued, her voice breaking due to the pain. “Always…”
Daniel lowered his head, holding back the tears that wanted to burst. “Emily, don’t talk anymore,” he said, seeing Emily suffering from the pain while still trying to talk to him.
“Don’t be sad for too long,” Emily whispered, trying to coax a weak smile. “Forget me quickly and be happy…”
“What are you saying? Don’t say that, like you’re going to leave me,” Daniel pleaded, his voice laced with desperation.
Emily’s cold hand slipped from Daniel’s cheek, surrendering to the pain that was tightening its grip. Her eyes fluttered closed, seeking solace amidst the agony that was consuming her.
“Emily,” Daniel called out, his voice cracking with fear. He reached out, his fingers trembling as he tried to touch her face. “No… Don’t leave me. Emily!!”
Sean stood frozen, his eyes blank, staring at the scene before him. Sophia looked equally shocked, her mouth agape, as if she had just woken from a nightmare.
“Emily!” Daniel roared, his voice raw with grief.
