Emily looked surprised, while Daniel massaged his furrowed mid-brow. He hadn’t expected that Fred could think that far ahead.
“What? Pregnant? How could you, Dad… er, I mean, how could you possibly think that far ahead?” protested Emily, who was in Daniel’s body. Again, she was close to revealing her identity that she was Emily.
“Can you guys get out of my room now?” asked Daniel, his voice cold. He felt dizzy and massaged his temples.
“I want to rest. You better get out,” Daniel added in a stern tone, gritting his teeth in annoyance. Despite his irritation, Daniel tried to keep his demeanor calm.
“B-but, Em… Are you okay? How’s your stomach? Does it still feel nauseous?” Fred asked worriedly, but Daniel immediately raised a hand to stop her.
“Go on, I can take care of myself. Put the cup and plate down and get out of my room,” Daniel ordered firmly.
Fred and Emily finally left the room. As they exited, Daniel closed the door rather violently, making both of them gasp in shock.
“What happened to her? She’s really not like my daughter,” Fred muttered, staring at the door to his daughter’s room with a puzzled look.
“How can you have such thoughts?” asked Emily with a disappointed expression, shaking her head.
“Emily and I have nothing more than a superior and subordinate relationship,” Emily explained firmly.
“Is there really nothing going on between both of you?” asked Fred with a probing look.
“Of course,” Emily replied firmly.
“I just overheard you apologizing to my daughter. I also overheard a conversation about hiding something, but I didn’t understand what it really meant,” Fred explained, trying to seek clarity.
“You’re wrong, there’s no relationship between us,” Emily insisted, at a loss how to explain the situation to Fred.
“I’m sorry if I came to the wrong conclusion. Be angry at me, but don’t blame Emily,” Fred said.
“Please, you’d better focus on yourself instead of worrying too much about your daughter,” Emily said. In her heart, she wished Fred would pay more attention to himself without worrying too much about her. She didn’t want to make Fred feel sad or anxious.
“Yes, I’m sorry. I am indeed overprotective of Emily. She grew up without a mother and because of that…” Fred paused, not continuing his words anymore, but every word he said touched Emily’s heart, making her eyes tear up again.
“Ah, sorry. Why did I tell you about myself instead? Sorry. Are you going home soon?” asked Fred.
‘Ah, right, I have to go back to Mr. Daniel’s house. How will I live my life as a CEO in the future? Dad, if only you knew it was me, your daughter’ Emily thought to herself.
“Ah, that’s right. I have to go home soon,” Emily replied.
“If you don’t mind, please eat here first,” Fred said.
Emily just nodded in response, but she couldn’t hold back her tears. When Fred wasn’t looking, she quickly wiped her tears away.
“Have a seat, sir,” Fred invited Emily to sit in their dining room.
The two of them finally ate together, the atmosphere calmer.
“Thank you for such a delicious meal,” Emily said before excusing herself.
“I also thank you for taking care of Emily. I’m sorry for my presumptuousness in accusing you of something,” Fred said.
Emily smiled before saying, “It’s okay.”
With hesitant steps, Emily left Fred’s house. Fred escorted her to the front of the house. Daniel’s personal driver had already opened the door to let Emily in. As she turned around, Emily saw Fred still standing there, smiling to take her home. Inside, Emily felt a deep sadness. Her tears finally fell as she got into the car.
I don’t know how long I’ll be in this body; I hope a miracle will happen soon, Emily thought, while wiping her tears.
“Where are you going, sir?” asked Daniel’s personal driver, breaking her reverie.
“We’re going home, sir,” Emily replied.
Daniel’s Mercedes-Maybach left the house. However, a feeling of emptiness suddenly came over Fred as he watched Emily leave.

After receiving the news from Daniel’s grandpa that evening, Emily seemed to prepare to attend the planned dinner. She was browsing through the walk-in closet looking for a suitable outfit to wear to the event. Suddenly, her cell phone vibrated and Emily quickly picked it up.
“Have you heard from Grandpa yet?” came Emily’s voice on the other end.
“Yes, sir. I’m getting ready to go there,” Emily replied.
“Alright, let me know later,” Daniel said.
“Are you feeling better?” asked Emily.
“Mmm, I’m a little better,” Daniel replied before ending the call.
“Hufftttt… I’m nervous as hell about meeting her grandfather. What if I make a mistake later?” muttered Emily, but a moment later, she shook her head.
“No, no. I can do it,” Emily said as she took a deep breath, trying to encourage herself.
“What should I wear to the event, huh?” Emily looked confused at the clothes in front of her.
She took photos of some clothes and sent them to Daniel.
What should I wear, sir?
Not long after, a message notification from Daniel came in. He sent back the photo sent earlier by Emily, but this time with an extra tick in it.
Just wear this, Daniel replied.
After dressing, as Daniel suggested, Emily looked at her own face in the mirror.
“This face is really perfect. I envy him. His face is even more shiny than mine,” Emily muttered before finally exiting her walk-in closet.
Daniel’s personal driver was waiting outside and opened the car door, allowing Emily to get in. Emily told him about their destination. Soon, Daniel’s car arrived at a five-star restaurant. Despite her hesitant steps, Emily got out of the car.
Emily entered the five-star restaurant, greeted by a friendly server. She took a seat at one table, awaiting Daniel’s grandfather. Suddenly, not long after, there was the sound of footsteps approaching.
“Been waiting long?”
Emily looked up to see who was coming and was surprised to find a familiar woman standing before her.
“Hi, we meet again,” the woman greeted as she took the seat in front of Emily.
“How did you get here?” Emily asked.
“Didn’t Grandpa tell you anything?” the woman asked.
“What do you mean?” the woman’s words confused Emily.
“Maybe it’s better if we get acquainted first. We haven’t got acquainted before,” the woman continued as she extended her smooth, white hand, smiling to showcase her row of white teeth.
The blonde woman introduced herself. “My name is Olivia.”
Emily also responded by returning Olivia’s hand, “Daniel.”
“Now, can you tell me what you meant earlier?” Emily asked.
“I came here because of my parents’ and your grandfather’s intention to set us up,” Olivia explained in a calm voice.
“What?” Emily was both surprised and surprised that she would be given another surprise. She hadn’t fully adjusted to being in Daniel’s body, yet she was again shocked because she was being matched with a woman.
