After a long sleep, the sound of a knock on the door awakened Emily. Wriggling, she stretched her body, that had just woken up from sleep.
“Yes, just a moment,” Emily said, rising from her sleep, and sitting up for a moment to collect herself, who was still not fully awake.
Emily walked towards the door of her room with slightly staggering steps. When she opened the door, there stood Daniel with a serious look on his face.
“What’s wrong, sir?” asked Emily while rubbing her eyes, still looking sleepy.
“Are you sleeping?” asked Daniel.
“Yes, sir. I was unconscious and just fell asleep,” replied Emily.
“Come out, let’s get something to eat,” said Daniel, inviting Emily to come out of her room.
“Can you wait a minute, sir?” asked Emily.
“Hurry,” Daniel replied.
Emily immediately rushed to the bathroom and washed her face, then cleaned it using a clean towel. When she was done, she went out to meet Daniel.
Daniel walked ahead of Emily. Emily followed Daniel’s footsteps as usual, but this time it was not too difficult because Emily felt helped by Daniel’s body, which certainly had longer legs.
“Where do we want to eat, sir?” asked Emily curiously.
Daniel didn’t answer Emily’s question, but his footsteps kept moving until they reached the elevator. They entered the elevator together, and Daniel pressed the button for one of the hotel floors.
Emily looked at Daniel with growing curiosity. “Where are we going, sir?”
“Stop asking questions. You’ll find out later,” Daniel replied briefly.
The elevator finally stopped at the destination floor, and after walking a few steps, they arrived at the restaurant inside the five-star hotel. The restaurant was dazzling with elegant decorations and a breathtaking view.
The restaurant was on the highest floor of the hotel, providing a stunning view of the Chao Phraya river. Large windows reveal views of the river flowing with the city lights, creating a romantic and charming atmosphere.
Emily and Daniel sat at a strategically placed table, allowing them to enjoy the breathtaking view.
“Sir, this place is amazing,” Emily whispered in awe.
A well-dressed waitress with a friendly smile approached them. She politely handed Emily and Daniel the food and drink menu. The menu contained local dishes to exclusive international dishes, with appetizing descriptions.
After ordering some food and drinks, the waitress left.
“Tomorrow we’ll go home,” Daniel said, breaking the silence, making Emily immediately turn her head.
“But before we go home, we’ll go back to the forest and look for that old lady again,” Daniel explained. Emily nodded in agreement, realizing that they had to find her again to restore their bodies.
“Hopefully, we’ll meet her,” Emily replied firmly. “We have to find her and return our bodies to their rightful place.”
Who knows what will happen to them tomorrow, but they just hope that a miracle will be with them.
“Em, I’ll leave you for a while, okay?” said Daniel suddenly, getting up from his seat.
“Yes, sir,” Emily replied.
When she saw Daniel leave, Emily immediately took out her cell phone and started capturing the atmosphere of the restaurant into her phone. When she finished taking photos, Emily looked at her shots with a satisfied smile.
“You are Mr. Daniel, aren’t you?” someone’s voice suddenly startled Emily, and she immediately turned to the person who spoke.
“I think that I was right in assuming that you were Mr. Daniel,” said a woman with a smile that spread wide when she saw Emily.
Who is she? Emily thought because she didn’t recognize the woman in front of her.
The woman radiated an aura that was so distinctive. Her blonde hair that glistened in the light and was adorned with glittering barrettes added to the impression of luxury and elegance. The luxurious pink dress she wore revealed the beauty of her perfect body lines.
“I didn’t expect to meet Mr. Daniel here. It’s an honor to meet you in a place like this,” the woman said with a smile. Emily could only return the smile, saying nothing, mesmerized by the elegance of the woman before her.
“It turns out you’re more handsome than the media has been reporting,” added the woman before her again with a seductive smile.
That meant she had never met Mr. Daniel, right?
“Excuse me, but who are you?” asked Emily, with a bit of courage to ask.
The woman swept her long hair back, revealing her long neck, and smiled so sweetly before extending her hand. “My name is…” but before she could continue her introduction, Daniel came over to the two of them.
“This is my seat,” Daniel said firmly to the woman, showing that it should be his.
The woman looked Daniel up and down with a sharp gaze, as if analyzing every detail. Smiling with one of her lips lifted, giving the impression of disdain.
“Are you an acquaintance of Mr. Daniel?” the woman asked in a tone that found it hard to believe that Daniel could know someone who looked so ordinary and certainly not from the upper crust.
“I’m his business partner,” Daniel replied casually.
The woman was slightly surprised at Daniel’s answer. Her gaze became more serious as she considered this new information. However, she maintained her dismissive smile.
“So, can you give me my seat back?” asked Daniel calmly.
“Alright, I won’t bother you guys. Mr. Daniel, I am thrilled to meet you tonight and I hope this meeting can be a wonderful beginning for us,” said the woman in a soft voice.
After saying those words, she stood up gracefully, swept her hair back with such an elegant gesture. Her eyes glanced briefly at Daniel with an expression of dislike.
After the woman left, Daniel calmly returned to the seat left by the woman.
“Why did you lie that I was your business partner?” asked Emily curiously.
“To get rid of that woman,” Daniel replied.
“Do you know her?” asked Emily again.
“No,” Daniel replied briefly.
Not long after, a waitress arrived with a food trolley filled with appetizing dishes. The food was placed on the table, filling the room with a tantalizing aroma.
“That woman is beautiful. She seems to like you,” Emily said, but Daniel didn’t seem to care. He was busy cutting the meat in front of him without taking his eyes off it.
“I wish I had a face like that,” Emily muttered to herself as she looked admiringly at the woman sitting close to them. However, the woman suddenly realized that Emily was looking at her and she smiled so sweetly that it took Emily’s breath away.
“She keeps looking at us, sir,” Emily said.
“Don’t keep looking at her. She might think that I’m interested in her,” Daniel said as he put down the fork and knife he was holding with a slight thud.
“Why aren’t you interested in dating?” asked Emily.
“It’s none of your business,” Daniel said firmly as he continued eating.
“If there was someone who really liked you, would you keep your heart closed? I’m sure if you opened your heart, many women would be interested in you,” Emily explained, trying to make her point.
Daniel felt impatient with Emily’s explanation, and he rudely put down his fork and knife with such force that there was a clinking sound. “Don’t interfere in my love affairs. You weren’t able to keep your boyfriend either, so why should you interfere in my romance? Don’t think that because we spent a few days together, we’re close enough to discuss my love affairs,” Daniel said in a stern tone, trying to give Emily a warning.
Hearing Daniel’s harsh words, Emily fell silent and her eyes began to tear up. “That’s right, I can’t keep my boyfriend even though we’ve been in a relationship for so long,” Emily said in a choked voice, smiling sadly.
“I’m sorry if I interfered too much in your affairs. I didn’t realize I was just a subordinate,” Emily continued in a voice that sounded weak. She then fell silent, not daring to say any more words. Emily continued eating without saying much more.
Daniel felt frustrated. “You really made my appetite disappear,” he said in an annoyed tone.
Hearing Daniel’s words, Emily immediately stopped eating. She was devastated and felt that she had disturbed Daniel’s comfort. “I’m sorry if I’ve made you feel disturbed. In that case, I’d better leave. Enjoy your meal, sir,” Emily said. Without waiting for any further reaction, Emily simply left Daniel.
