“Are you done crying your eyes out?”
I froze and fixed my gaze on him. The one who I had forgotten for 10 years was before me.
I stood up on my shaky legs and tattered clothes and faced him.
“Oh, you survived. Interesting!” He exclaimed. “I was just thinking of how to kill you.”
I gasped when he walked closer to me barefooted with his tattered clothes on. “You never cease to amaze me, Wendy Nightshade.”
My eyes welled up. “Oh! No. Sihwa.”
“Hmmm.” He seemed amused because I called his name.
“How! But you…how did this…”
“What happened?” He finished. “Isn’t that what you are supposed to ask me?”
“Where is everyone?” I finally asked and swallowed, looking at how deserted the pack was.
“Why do you want to know? I thought you hated your mates. Now, you wanna know what happened to everyone.”
“You are Sihwa.” I pointed out. “I remember you. You told me to come with you at the forest, but I didn’t come to meet you. I couldn’t come because…”
“What are you talking about?” He frowned as the wind blew through his hair.
“Wendy.”
I looked behind Sihwa and saw Gerhard, Donovan, Kellan, Riot, and Enzo.
“Gerhard.” I whispered. I almost ran to him when Sihwa stopped me with his arm blocking my view.
“You do not pay any attention to someone else while I am in front of you.”
“Aiden is dead. Everyone is-”
“I killed them all.” He blurted out and scoffed. “The survivors behind me are the ones who pledged their royalties before me. What about you? Do you want to join me to take over the world or do you want to be like your first love here? Whose body suffered irreparable damage?”
“YOU KILLED EVERYONE.” I shouted and lunged at him, and he held my wrist and squeezed it.
“Ahhhhh.” I screamed and saw how red my wrist was. The agony was unbearable and my blood was dripping down my arm.
I cried and begged him to stop this immediately. “Please, stop.” I screamed, and he released my arm. He let me go and added. “If you want to kill me so badly. You’ve gotta put in the energy. That sums it up.”
He landed a blow at the back of my neck in a swift move and, once again, I fainted.
“Take this piece of shit to the car.” Those were the last words I heard before I faded into a deep slumber.
My neck was aching so badly when my eyes opened and I saw Gerhard beside me, dressing the wounds on my legs. Most of the wounds on my body were almost healed.
He saw me with a solemn look and smiled a little before taking a seat.
I raised myself from the bed with hot tears dropping on the sheets and my clenched fist grabbing the sheets.
Bandages were in some part of my body and on my forehead.
I still couldn’t believe Aiden was dead. How could he just die?
What truly happened while I was unconscious?
“My father slept with his personal maid in the country he lives in and got her pregnant. She was Italian and irresistible. Anyone would wonder why such a woman was working as a maid when she could do so much more. She was glamorous and could pass for a model in a heartbeat.” Gerhard narrated and sat down in front of me and continued. “Accidentally, she got pregnant by my father and planned on aborting the baby. She wanted to kill me. My father, your stepfather, begged her to give birth to the child. She swore never to raise me and be a mother. That what she wanted was to be a model and not a wife and a married woman. My father and my mother came to an agreement. Once she gives birth to me, she would hand me over to my father and part ways with him. As soon as she gave birth to me, she became traumatized.”
“Why?” I questioned. I regretted asking because he sounded sad when he told his story.
I had always suspected his mother to be an Italian woman because of his features.
However, why does speak German instead of Italian?
He sounded so sad. Did his mother abandon him because she wanted to be a model?
Who would abandon their child to fulfill their dreams?
If she wasn’t ready to be a mother, she could have not gotten pregnant.
“She saw a baby wolf instead of a human.” I was trying to understand what he was talking about. “I don’t get it. Is that supposed to be a bad thing?” I asked.
“Not really.” He responded. “I think in a situation like this, when you are human and the man you’ve been sleeping with all along, is a werewolf. It is quite shocking to take in.”
“Oh, I’m sorry.”
“You don’t have to, Wendy. It freaked her out. She pushed me away from her and almost committed suicide.”
“Suicide?”
“Yes.” He agreed with me. “She was determined to take her life, but my father wouldn’t let her do it. Instead, he took away her memories and let her go. She lost her memories, recalling not a single moment with my father and giving birth to me. She moved on like nothing happened and became one of the greatest models today.”
“I’m sorry, Gerhard.”
“Yeah, you don’t need to be. It’s all in the past and I choose to get over it. Though, whenever I see her on TV, it hurts, but my father did what made her happy. She was at her happiest moment on the walkway.” His voice broke a little. “Sometimes, I wish I wasn’t a werewolf. Maybe my mother would have loved me and accepted me if I was human.”
“Gerhard.” I moved closer to him and held his hand.
He tried laughing it off. Yet, his expression failed him.
He was beautiful and who wouldn’t wanna love someone like him?
He was the kindest Omega I have ever seen in my entire life. I don’t think he should feel too low of himself. I know what it is like to be unloved.
I faced it with my mother too. When she divorced my father, she took it out on me.
“Don’t think that way. Always remember that you are special.”
“Yeah, I know. I am special and my mother deserves to be happy. So, I care about her a lot more than myself.”
“Have you tried visiting her once or twice?” I asked with a sigh. “Sorry, I know I shouldn’t have suggested it, but I just feel you should…”
“I don’t want to ruin her happiness. I know what it is like to get what you want and you don’t achieve it.”
