I cried out in pain and begged her to stop hitting me, and I was sorry for what I did.
It was a mistake, but she wouldn’t listen.
My eyes beamed with tears and all I wanted to do was to run away from this school and never come back here again.
Her presence with her friends was intimidating and sent chills down my spine.
“I’m sorry.” I muttered, and she slapped me again.
“Don’t you dare look me in the eye? Who do you think you are to apologize to me for that filthy thing you call mouth? Don’t think too highly of yourself because you would go down scum.”
She brushed past me with her friends, leaving me in terrible pain. As I kept sobbing, no one came to my rescue or tried to stop the fight.
They all just stood at their spot, staring at me.
As soon as the fight was over, they all walked past me as if nothing had happened.
When I got home on that day, I couldn’t look anyone in the face because of how embarrassed I was.
All I wanted was to never go back to school again.
I ran to my room and cried my eyes out for the moon goddess knows how long.
I felt the door opening behind me and quickly wiped off my tears.
Aiden.
“Wendy,” he quickly came over to me and hugged me. “What happened?” That was the next thing he said, and I just shook my head without saying a word.
“Did anyone bully you at school?”
“Everyone hates me because I’m an Omega.” I responded and sniffed my nose at the catarrh that was about to fall out from it.
“No one hates you.” He whispered and rested his jaw on my head as soon as he hugged me on my bed with his arms wrapped around my shoulders.
“But the school does.” I muttered as Aiden shifted himself away from me, cupped my face with both hands and said. “Tell me who bullied you, Wendy, then I will see to it, it stops.”
“Alpha Aiden.”
We both looked at who was standing behind us and it was Lucy, my mom’s personal maid now.
She bowed before us.
“What’s the matter?” He questioned.
“Luna wants to see you and Wendy.”
“Why? What happened?”
“She said she saw some bruises on Wendy’s body and the school called her about…” she hesitated.
“Speak faster. About what?” Aiden stood up on his feet, barefooted and stared at Lucy.
“She…she heard Wendy had a fight at school. So, she wants to have a word with her.”
Suddenly, I got scared because my mother just doesn’t want to see me to check how I was doing, but to scold me instead.
Aiden sighed as he rubbed his forehead, and his gaze fell on me. “Go on. Go meet your mother and know what she has to say, okay?”
I swallowed with a nod.
I stood up from the bed nervously and followed Lucy to go see mom.
As soon as we got to the living room, my stepbrothers were all there with her. She was sitting on the silver couch with her legs crossed.
They weren’t sitting close to her, but it seemed as if they were there to know what happened at school.
Lykan was snickering behind my mom’s back, waiting for me to speak.
“What happened at school, Wendy?” My mom’s cold tone sent chills down my spine.
I bit my lower lip to suppress my tears from spilling out of my eyes.
No! No! No!
I don’t want to cry in front of them. Lykan is in front of me.
If I cry, he would laugh at me and I don’t want to be ridiculed.
“Your principal called me and told me about the fight you had with your senior. He said you were insulting her friends and acted disrespectfully towards her.”
“No, mom.” I cried out and the tears I didn’t want to expose, spilled out of my eyes. “She started it.” I broke down. “She bullied me because I mistakenly stepped on her feet. It was a mistake. I apologized to her, but she spat on me, slapped me twice, and kicked me across the stomach. She started the fight, mom, not me.”
Lykan burst out laughing while sitting on his couch.
And Zane joined him, too.
Why are they both laughing at me?
I fell on my knees out of shame and couldn’t look them or my mom in the eye.
“And what did you do?” My mom stood up from the couch, came up to me and slapped me across the face.
Everyone in the living room went silent.
“You are nothing but a disgrace. You haven’t stayed up to a week in school and you are already causing trouble.”
“But mom it was…”
“SILENCE.” She yelled at me with a clenched fist. “You are nothing here, Wendy. If not for your stepfather’s influence, you wouldn’t be here. Even your pathetic father can’t even get you into such an excellent school. All he knows is to spread his scent around like the promiscuous Omega he is and get into anyone’s pants. It’s been 2 years, and he doesn’t even know if someone like you exists. You are his daughter, for crying out loud. Does he care? No! And you are complaining about some senior belittling you. Bullying you? Are you insane? Who do you think you are, Wendy? What a dried up old hot pocket.”
“But mom…”
“Shut your stinky mouth. I don’t want to listen to any of your silly excuses. If you don’t want to do what I want you to do just to give you a better life, you can get out of my home. I didn’t bring you here with me to embarrass the hell outta me. You can go out into the world to rot for all I care, like those Omegas selling their bodies on the streets to survive. This is my home. And you are not gonna ruin it because of your selfish desires.”
“Please mom, I don’t want to go to that school anymore, please. I didn’t mean any of this to happen and…”
She smacked me on my cheeks and shouted at my face. “Don’t be silly. Get up and go make yourself useful before I lose my temper and pounce on you. If it weren’t for me, you would be on the streets and no one would even care or know about your existence. I’m telling you what the world is like out there for people like you, and you are still asking for a choice.”
I got up on my feet with hot tears spilling down my cheeks.
“Don’t disappoint your stepfather, Wendy. He did everything for you. If you show any sign of being useless to me, I will kick you out of my house.”
