3rd person’s POV
The grand hall of the Werewolf Council was a place of immense power, with high, arched ceilings and walls lined with ancient furnitures depicting the long history of the werewolves. Each interior told a different story of triumph, loss, and perseverance. Dimitri stood at the center of the room, flanked by Louis and two of his trusted warriors, as the Council members sat in a half-circle around them, their expressions a mix of sternness and intrigue.
On the far end of the room, a group of representatives from the Council of Coexistence, consisting of both humans and werewolves, observed the proceedings. They were the guardians of the fragile peace between humans and werewolves, a balance that had been disturbed by the recent attacks orchestrated by the werewolf hunters and the Alpha Damien of Twilight Fang pack.
Dimitri’s eyes flickered toward Rowan a member of the Twilight Fang pack, who sat on the opposite side of the room, flanked other high -ranking members of Twilight Fang Pack. His face was unreadable, though Dimitri could sense the tension between them. The striping off of Alpha Damien power and jailing him after the Bloodmoon Pack provided the crucial information to the Council about his dealings with Rogues and hunters had not sit well with Rowan and some other members of the Twilight Fang pack. Now, they are here to see if they can plea with the council to reconsider their judgement but that doesn’t seem to be possible.
At the center of the Council sat Elder Cree, the most respected voice among the werewolf elders. His silver hair was slicked back, and his piercing amber eyes scanned the room as he prepared to speak. His voice, when it came, was deep and resonant, commanding attention.
“Alpha Dimitri of the Bloodmoon Pack,” Cree began, his gaze settling on Dimitri, “you have presented evidence that proves the involvement human werewolf hunters and Alpha Damien of Twilight Fang pack in the attack from rogue werewolves on your in the just concluded battle you won and that has endangered the peace we have long fought to maintain. The Council has reviewed this evidence and finds it to be both compelling and alarming.”
Dimitri nodded, his jaw tight as he spoke. “The Bloodmoon Pack fought tirelessly and won the battle and also track down the rogue hideouts across the kingdom as well as get information on Twilight Fang Pack and expose their dealings with the hunters. These hunters have repeatedly broken the peace accord, and their attack your pack and some other packs across the kingdom have grown bolder.”
These has caused you to lose a large number of your Warriors.
Cree inclined his head. “Indeed. And for that, we owe your pack a debt of gratitude. The information you provided has allowed us to act swiftly, and the Council has already begun hunting down the remaining rogue werewolf as well as the Werewolf hunters responsible for the attacks. And give a fitting sentence to Alpha Damien However, this is not the end of the matter.”
Dimitri’s eyes narrowed slightly. He had expected this meeting to be about bringing the werewolf hunters to justice, but there was something else coming, something that had yet to be revealed.
Elder Cree continued, “The rogue werewolves who assisted these hunters in their plot against our kind must also face justice. Their actions not only threatened the lives of their fellow werewolves but also jeopardized the very peace that has allowed our kind to live alongside humans without conflict. We have already begun tracking down the rogues involved in the attack on the Bloodmoon Pack.”
Louis stepped forward, his voice steady as he addressed the Council. “Maksim the rogue leader and his second- in -command, Zane were both lost in battle but then the remaining rogues responsible for the attack on our pack are dangerous, cunning, and well-organized and they are still out there. They’ve been working with the werewolf hunters for years, hiding in the shadows. If we don’t root them out completely, they’ll only regroup and strike again.”
Cree’s gaze shifted to Louis, his expression contemplative. “Your concerns are valid, Louis. The Council has dispatched its most skilled trackers to hunt down these rogues, and we are confident that we will locate them soon.”
From the corner of his eye, Dimitri saw Rowan stiffen.
“You’re confident you’ll find them?” Rowan’s voice cut through the hall, sharp and challenging. “The rogues are slippery. They know how to hide, how to survive. Even with your best trackers, there’s no guarantee.”
Elder Cree fixed Rowan with a steely gaze. “We will find them, Rowan. Their days of hiding are over. The Council will not rest until those responsible for the attacks are brought to justice.”
Rowan’s lips curled into a faint sneer, but he said nothing further. His eyes briefly flicked to Dimitri, filled with venom, before he looked away.
Elder Cree turned back to Dimitri. “As for the werewolf hunters organization, the Council of Coexistence has already been informed. Representatives of the human government are currently reviewing the evidence, and they agree that the hunters have violated the terms of the peace accord.”
At this, one of the human representatives, a stern-looking woman with dark hair tied into a tight bun, rose from her seat. Her name was Mariah Eldridge, and she was a key figure in the Council of Coexistence, a liaison between the human government and the werewolf community.
“Alpha Dimitri,” Mariah began, her voice cool but not unkind, “the human government takes these violations very seriously. Werewolf hunters are a dangerous element, even among our own kind. They operate outside the law, often with little regard for the consequences. The attacks on the Bloodmoon Pack and other werewolf territories are a direct breach of the peace accord.”
Dimitri inclined his head. “I appreciate your support in this matter, Ms. Eldridge. The werewolf hunters have shown no mercy in their pursuit of our kind, and their actions have endangered both human and werewolf lives.”
Mariah nodded, her expression grave. “The human government is committed to maintaining the peace between our species. As such, we are prepared to take immediate action against the organization funding the werewolf hunters responsible for these attacks. Those found guilty of violating the peace accord will face severe punishment under human law, including life imprisonment.”
There was a murmur of approval from the werewolf side of the Council, but Dimitri could see that Mariah wasn’t finished.
“However,” she continued, “there is concern among some human officials that not all werewolves were innocent in these events. The rogue packs, in particular, pose a significant threat to the delicate balance we’ve maintained. The human government has requested that the Werewolf Council take steps to ensure that these rogue packs are dealt with swiftly and decisively.”
Elder Cree nodded, his expression somber. “We have already begun the process of dismantling the rogue packs that were involved in the attacks. And we have also sentenced Alpha Damien and his Beta who have been found guilty, Any other werewolf found to have colluded with the hunters will be tried before this Council and, if found guilty, will face the appropriate consequences.”
Dimitri could feel the tension in the room rising, especially from the rogues in attendance. He knew that some of them were innocent, caught up in the chaos without having played a direct role in the attacks. But the lines were blurred, and the Council’s decision would have far-reaching consequences.
Rowan’s voice broke the uneasy silence once again. “And what of the Bloodmoon Pack?” he asked, his tone dripping with contempt. “They claim to be the heroes in this story, but they’ve been at the center of this conflict from the beginning. How do we know they haven’t used this situation to further their own agenda?”
Dimitri’s jaw tightened, but before he could respond, Cree raised a hand, silencing Rowan’s accusations.
“The Bloodmoon Pack faced countless attacks, they lost Warriors and provided us the critical information that led to the downfall of your Alpha and exposed the connection between the rogues and the werewolf hunters,” Cree said, his voice cold. “Without their sacrifice, the Council would still be in the dark about these threats. I suggest you remember that, Rowan, before you make baseless accusations.”
But Alpha Dimitri isn’t all innocent, Rowan smirk we all know he- A loud growl interrupted him
I don’t want to hear you say anything again till this meeting is over,” Elder Cree snapped
Rowan’s face flushed with anger, but he said nothing further. Dimitri’s eyes locked with his, a silent battle waging between them. Damien’s fall from grace hadn’t diminished thirst for power for some of his Men just like Rowan had displayed, and Dimitri knew this wouldn’t be the last time they would cross paths.
Mariah Eldridge spoke again, addressing the room. “The human government stands ready to support the Werewolf Council in hunting down any remaining werewolf hunters and rogues involved in these attacks. Cooperation between our two species is more important now than ever.”
Elder Cree nodded, his gaze sweeping the room. “Then it is decided. The rogue werewolves and the hunters responsible will be pursued until every last one is brought to justice. The peace between humans and werewolves must be preserved, and we will not allow these elements to tear it apart.”
Dimitri let out a quiet breath, the weight of the Council’s decision settling over him. The battle wasn’t over, not by a long shot, but at least now there was a clear path forward. The Bloodmoon Pack had fought tirelessly and played their part in exposing the treason, but there was still work to be done.
Louis had left in rush has he received a shocking news of Diana’s deteriorating health, he had left her this morning with a smile and a renewed hope, since she was carrying yet another pregnancy, this time around after series of treatments and medications. But it seems though having a cub is impossible for them.
As the Council session came to a close, Dimitri exchanged a glance with his Men, and gave them a small nod of approval. They had fought long and hard to bring this information to light, and now, the Council would do its part.
It had taken every last ounce in Dimitri to stay back till the meeting ended, after the news about Diana’s deteriorating health reached them
As they turned to leave, Dimitri caught sight of Rowan once more, his face twisted with barely-contained fury. Dimitri knew that Magnus wasn’t finished. Not by a long shot.
But neither was the Bloodmoon Pack.
The hunt for justice had only just begun.
