3rd person’s POV
The sky darkened as the Bloodmoon Pack battled the influx of rogues wolves. A storm was developing, both in the air and on the ground, as stress heightened the mood. Kate stood by Dimitri’s side, her silver wolf fur smeared with blood, both from her own wounds and from the foes she had defeated. Her muscles hurt, but her determination was as strong as ever. The battle was far from over.
They had caught them by surprise, the time they attacked, the way at which they attacked. They had not attacked through the front gate of the southern border, rather they attacked through the secret passage Dimitri had said they will take while they attack.
Dimitri snarled deep in his chest, golden eyes searching the battlefield. The rogues were regrouping, hovering like vultures, waiting for a weakness to emerge. But the Bloodmoon soldiers refused to back down.
“They’re relentless,” Kate mumbled via the pack link, her voice strained yet resolute.
“They won’t stop until we make them,” Dimitri said, his eyes stern. “But we are not alone. Our allies have sent some warriors and they are on their way. We just need to hold the line.”
Kate nodded, her breathing steadying as she concentrated on the battle ahead. She had trained for this moment, grown stronger through innumerable trials, but battling with Dimitri as Luna was a one-of-a-kind challenge. Her thoughts turned to the figure she had seen lurking at the edge of the trees during the previous attack, a presence that still frightened her. He had vanished, but she knew he was not gone.
“Let’s end this,” Kate replied firmly as she looked at Dimitri. His eyes met hers, and a subtle accord passed between them.
The fight resumed again as the rogues pushed forward, their cries piercing the air. Bloodmoon warriors confronted them head on, and the clash of bodies was swift, vicious, and ruthless. The earth rattled beneath their boots as the combat became more intense.
Dimitri refused to give into transforming into his Lycan form, who is already clamoring to be unleashed. But his very presence in his human form caused a ripple of terror through their ranks, yet it did not deter them from assaulting. His claws ripped through the air, cutting into a rogue who had strayed too close. His power was unparalleled, but Kate understood this fight was more than simply raw might. The rogues had a strategy and were waiting for the ideal time to strike deeper into their area.
Kate jumped into the battle ground, her wolf’s speed and agility leading her across the battlefield. She escaped a rogue’s attack by whirling on her hind legs and striking with her fangs, clamping down on the rogue’s throat. He collapsed immediately, but Kate hardly had time to regain her breath when another renegade charged at her.
She could feel her wolf instincts strengthening, and her link to her inner power becoming stronger with each fight. Her previous training and testing had all prepared her for this. However, nothing could have prepared her for the rogue’s’ ferocity. They battled with no code or honor, only desperation and bloodlust.
As she struggled, Kate saw something unusual. The rogues weren’t attacking randomly. Their motions followed a pattern, which surprised her. They were exploring the fortifications for weaknesses. And once they located it, they would attack with everything they had.
“They’re testing us,” Kate said across the pack link, as her wolf dodged another strike. “They’re trying to find a way in.”
Dimitri, who was busy bringing down two rogues at once, said, “I understand. We cannot allow them to break through.”
Kate’s gaze scoured the battlefield, looking for any sign of the commander who was giving order to the wolves. Whoever was controlling these rogues had sent them on purpose, and she needed to locate him. Her intuition told her he was around.
Suddenly, a big rogue charged at her, his eyes blazing with wrath. He was bigger than the rest, his hair matted with blood, and his snarl savage. Kate braced herself, coiling her muscles in preparation for the hit. He collided with her, and the impact caused her to slip backward. Pain surged through her side where she had been injured previously, but she clenched her teeth and refused to give up.
The rogue snarled at her, his jaw dangerously near to her throat. But Kate was quicker. She twisted her body and used her momentum to get out from under him. She returned to her human form in one rapid motion, surprising the rogue. She swiftly took a silver sword from her side and plunged it deep into the rogue’s chest. He howled in anguish and collapsed at her feet.
Kate arose, breathing hard and examining the battlefield once again. The fight remained furious, but something had changed. The rogues were withdrawing into the forest’s darkness. She could feel a change in the air, an easing of their attack.
“They’re pulling back,” she murmured across the pack connection, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
Dimitri, stood tall with his chest up high, looked over the dead rogues. His chest heaved and his golden eyes narrowed. * “Why would they retreat now?” *
Kate’s attention shifted back to the tree line, her senses warning her that something was wrong. Then she saw him again-the same person as before. This time, he did not disappear. He emerged from the darkness, his big, powerful figure standing just outside the edge of the battlefield.
That was him. The rogue leader, Maksim
Dimitri’s Lycan Drey growled in his head, let me out Dimitri let me tear him apart once and for all, Dimitri push back and maintain control over into Drey, his gaze fixed on the person in the distance. “Stay back,” he hissed, his tone harsh and threatening. “I’m going to deal with this.”
Kate shook her head, resolve shining in her eyes. “I’m coming with you.” I’m your
Dimitri hesitated, his jaw clenched. He didn’t want her to endanger herself any further than she already had, but he knew better than to disagree. Kate was not someone to be shielded; she was a warrior, and she had demonstrated that today.
They marched toward the rogue leader, the anxiety rising with each step. As they approached, the rogue leader’s eyes flashed with cold, calculated intelligence. He did not look astonished or alarmed when he saw them. He exuded an unsettling serenity, as if he had all the cards.
“So here is the great Lycan King and his Luna,” the rogue leader scoffed, his voice low. “I’ve been waiting for this.”
Dimitri’s eyes flared. “You’ve made a mistake coming here.”
The rogue leader’s smile spread, but it did not reach his eyes. “Oh, I do not think so. You see, this strike was only the beginning. A warning, if you will. We’ll come back, and next time you won’t be so fortunate.”
Kate felt a shiver go down her spine. There was something about the way he stated it that made her believe he wasn’t lying.
“What do you want?” she questioned, her voice firm despite the horror that gripped her insides.
The rogue leader’s gaze went to her, and his countenance darkened. “I want you all destroyed and I will have this territory to myself ,” he replied with a cold voice. “And when the time comes, you’ll know exactly what that is.”
Before Dimitri or Kate could respond, the rogue leader turned and went into the trees, his departure as quiet and unsettling as his presence.
They remained there for a minute, taken aback by how quickly everything happened. Dimitri growled beneath his breath and clenched his hands. “He’s playing a game,” he hissed. “And we’re not going to let him win.”
Kate nodded, but her thoughts were already racing. What exactly did the rogue leader mean? What did they have that he required? And, more crucially, what was next?
With the rogues gone, the wounded warriors are being taken to the pack clinic, they had lost few of their warriors,
The rogues had the hemlock poison under their claws as last time, the doctors and nurses were busy, Sir Gareth also joined in helping to give the milk thistle plant to all the warriors who had sustained injuries, the dead once are taken to the morgue.
Warriors from the Shadowwalker pack and the Dawnrunner pack had arrived, they are loyal allies to the Bloodmoon Pack and they are always fast in responding to crises when there is, the Shadowwalker pack sent Thirty strong warriors warriors while the Dawnrunner pack sent Twenty strong warriors.
“Thank you for offering your support in such a short notice,” Dimitri said.
” The attack had came at the least expected time,” Dimitri said facing the warriors, and the rogues had find away to penetrate us despite all our measures but I want you to also know that we must not relax in our defense, so I want you to keep the borders secured and keep on patrolling through the night.
As the upheaval from the Battle faded, Kate felt a stinging agony spread from her side wound. Her legs buckled beneath her, and she slumped on the ground. Dimitri seized her before she struck the ground, his face filled with concern.
“Kate!” His voice was panicked as he hugged her in his arms. But, despite the anguish, Kate’s gaze remained fixated on the trees, where the rogue leader had vanished.
She muttered between tight teeth, “We must be ready. Something terrible is about to happen.” We can’t let him win, we must show him we are not some weakling.. her voice sluttered.
Dimitri ran with Kate in his arm to the pack clinic,
The hemlock poison is spreading in her body, she had decided to stay back with Dimitri at the southern border, and think the wound will heal up in no time since it wasn’t that much, she had forgot that the rogues uses poison as part of their weapon.
Please keep the border safe, he mind-linked Louis as he runs at his full pace.
He rushed into the clinic with Kate now unconscious in his hand , with his heart pounding hard against his chest.
