Her eyes, her smouldering eyes which drew him like a magnet or was it her milk skin that called out to him, dangling him over the precipiceof lust?
Her dark wavy hair which seemed so silky and soft, he wanted nothing more than to sink his fingers into her warm scalp and pleasure her all the ways a man could pleasure his woman.
Luciano was unable to concentrate. He was loosing his mind and his entire body was burning with such a fiery and pulsating hunger. A hunger that only Jade could satisfy. Even now in a meeting with Damien, he could barely even focus on anything else than how Jade had him drooling like a starved man last night.
“Luciano are you listening?” Damien snapped his fingers across Luciano’s hooded eyes.
Luciano blinked, having been snapped out of his daze. “I am sorry what were you saying?” Luciano asked, he was clearly not paying attention.
Damien crossed his arms over his chest and raised a brow, “We were talking bout the wedding preparations Luciano. I was telling you that the Inspector General of this particular district will be in attendance”
Luciano stiffled back a chuckle, “You really will invite him huh?”
Damien nodded, “I am Damien Valentino and this is my sister’s wedding. I shall invite men of power and authority” Damien boasted proudly.
Luciano shook his head and let out a dissatisfied sigh. If only Damien knew the raging war within himself. How could he get married to Valerie when clearly his body, soul and heart longed for Jade? She owned him body and soul.
Marrying another woman would not benefit neither of them.
“What’s the problem Luciano? You have been so absent minded since you got here? Do you know what to marry Valerie? Is it Jade?”
“Damien…” Luciano opened his mouth to speak but was quickly cut off by him.
“Let me remind you Luciano that this marriage is for your own benefit. You will have more stronger allies in fighting off and squashing any uprising your half brothers are planning.
I mean you have been away from home for so long. Who knows what those delinquents are up to?” Damien let out a sly smile.
“I still control the mafia. I still control my mafia from any part of the world Damien. Whatever they are up to, I will deal with it accordingly.
Damien I truthfully can not do this. I can not marry Valerie” Luciano voiced out.
“And why? Jade agreed to it and you agreed to it too days before so why the change of mind?” Damien inquired, his fingers impatiently tapping on the broad mahogany office desk that separated him and Luciano.
“I do not love Valerie. I can never love Valerie”
“Oh and you love Jade?” Damien mocked. “Since when did love become important to you Don Luciano? Capo dei Capi”
Luciano’s eyes darkened and his hands balled into fists.
Valerie had already spread the word that he did not have feelings for his wife.
“Love has never been a basis for marriage in our world and you know that. You claim you can’t marry Valerie because you do not love her but you do not love Jade either and Valerie is not asking for you to divorce Jade either. So I do not see the issue here”
“I do care so much about Jade. I can not share what I feel for her with another woman. Valerie will suffer emotionally if she marries me Damien and that is the simple truth.
I never wanted to marry her but Jade pushed me to. Apparently she cares for the power I possess in the mafia more than she does for our relationship but still, it doesn’t change the fact that I still care for Jade and that I do not want Valerie in my marraige” Luciano spoke, venom laced in his acrimonious tone.
“Oh bullshit!” Damien scoffed, bolting to his feet at once. “Fucking bullshit. How do you expect me to go tell my sister all these shits? Luciano why can’t you see that this marriage is for your own good?
You will get more allies, another woman and also more stronghold in Equador” Damien tried to coax Luciano but Luciano shook his head at him.
He had made up his mind already and he would not go back. He just couldn’t marry Valerie. Not now or never.
“No Damien. Go back and tell your sister that or better still I’ll do it myself. I care about Jade too much to do this to her”
Meanwhile, Valerie perched by a corner outside the office, tears in her eyes as she overhead the heated discussion between Damien and Luciano.
Even after everything that had been done, Luciano was still being so adamant on marrying her.
Jade had accepted the marriage so why couldn’t he just give in? Or was Jade the one making him to go back on his words?
Her chest heaved, anger settling in and the initial sadness completely wiped away.
Valerie swiped her tears with the back of her palms before she angrily marched away towards the parking lot and into her waiting jeep.
She was infuriated at Luciano and also at Jade. Why was Jade being so selfish with Luciano?
‘He was not getting married to her for nothing. He was getting married to her so that he could secure his mafia so why was Jade finding it so difficult to let go of him?’ Valerie thought to himself.
She had come to his office to surprise him but she ended up getting the shock of her life by Luciano’s blatant refusal to get married to her.
After everything that had happened!
Lurching into the car, Valerie quickly pulled out her phone and dialed Luciano’s house line knowing fully well that Jade would pick it.
“Hello. Who is this?” As expected Jade answered the call.
Valerie’s face twisted into a distasteful glare and she hissed loudly over the phone,”why are you so selfish Jade?”
“What? Excuse me who is this? Valerie?” Jade asked one more time. She wondered why someone would just call her to tell her she’s selfish.
“It’s Valerie and you heard me right. You are so selfish. The most selfish woman I have seen” Valerie spat.
“Oh I am selfish? This is coming from the woman that wants my own husband and you dare call me selfish?!” Jade snapped back.
“Yes I want him. I was the one who was to marry him before you came into the picture. But yet, I am still willing to share him with you. I am still willing to co-habit with you.
If I was really selfish as you claimed I would have used everything within my power to make sure you were out of the way and out of Luciano’s life forever so I could fully take your place but I am not doing so even though I can do it” Valerie’s words sent chills down Jade’s spine.
She spoke like she could actually completely erase Jade out of Luciano’s life with just the snap of her fingers.
“You are a sick person and you have a sick mentality. Why are you bothering me anyway? I agreed to the marriage didn’t I or are you suddenly feeling insecure? ” Jade mocked her in retaliation.
“You snake” Valerie gasped. “You should be the insecure one. Why are you even clinging on to him? Why won’t you let him marry me? What have you ever given to Luciano since you got married to him apart from your endless troubles?” Valerie scowled.
Her words made Jade recoil, tears filling up her eyes.
“Nothing! You do not come from a politically powerful family, you can’t be a real mafia queen, you depend on him for everything. You can’t even use the gun. Your marriage is of no use to Luciano. But look at me, if Luciano marries me, he will get enough allies he needs for being the most feared and powerful don. His half brothers are already causing issues for him, what have you done to help him?” Valerie kept on ranting and deep down Jade felt she was right.
Truly her marriage was really off no benefit to Luciano and she could barely help him.
“Exactly you are quiet because you know I am right yet you still won’t let him be with me. Fuck! You are so selfish!”
“I am not!” Jade yelled back, forcing her tears away.
“Yes you are. I can give Luciano everything. Power, money, protection, I am even ready to give him my body and soul but I doubt you even let him touch you. I wonder what he sees in you. You will definitely regret doing this Jade”
And with that, Valerie hung up, leaving Jade broken.
Her hurtful words still echoed in her eyes. She was really right. She could not even let Luciano touch her but Valerie was willing to give him everything and more.
She really needed to get Luciano to bed before Valerie actually did it.
