Early in the morning, Mireya had already left the palace. Unlike usual, she, who was obsessed with being in control, refused the driver who usually took her wherever she wanted to go. This time, after living in the palace for so long, she drove herself, and her destination was her old home.
Arriving at the house, Mireya immediately got out of the car. She looked around for a moment, as if she was afraid of being followed. Then she entered the house.
An embrace greeted Mireya’s arrival. She was surprised for a moment, then laughed happily and returned the hug. “Oh, Torin. You surprised me.”
Torin planted kisses on Mireya’s lips and ran both hands over her body. Mireya didn’t stand still and did the same. Her slender fingers slid down and grasped Torin’s masculinity.
Torin’s growl echoed in Mireya’s mouth. Then he led Mireya into the bedroom, and all the clothes on their bodies were removed, landing on the floor.
Torin and Mireya wrestled passionately on the bed. Torin didn’t leave any part of Mireya’s body untouched, he touched everything with fiery passion. Mireya also enjoyed all the touches with great pleasure, moaning and then screaming Torin’s name.
Her breathing became erratic as pleasure washed over her. They felt dizzy from the overwhelming sensation and their entire bodies were covered in drops of sweat.
“Oh, Mireya,” Torin said breathlessly. He pulled Mireya into his arms and kissed her head. His face looked extremely contented. “I love you so much.”
Mireya smiled in Torin’s embrace. Her eyes closed and she leaned against Torin’s chest. “I love you too, Torin.”
For a moment, they did nothing but hold each other, occasionally kissing again. Apparently, the longing had really overwhelmed their chests, for Mireya had stayed too long at Frostholm Palace.
Ten minutes later, Torin stood up in his nakedness and fetched a glass of water. His throat felt dry from the lovemaking that drained his energy.
“So, how is Frostholm Pack now? I hope my arrival the other day didn’t interfere with our plans.”
Mireya didn’t answer right away. Instead, she stood up and leaned back against the headboard. She let the blanket fall, exposing her breasts. Torin narrowed his eyes. “The situation in the Frostholm Pack is the same as always. They are still focused on Usher’s condition,” she said, accepting a glass of water offered by Torin. She took a sip, then put the glass down on the bedside table. “You know? They regularly visit the Amerotha forest to pray for Usher’s recovery.”
Torin approached Mireya with a furrowed brow, somewhat incredulous. “Really?” he asked, and Mireya nodded immediately. “Oh, my goodness. I didn’t think they were that naive.”
“That’s what I thought, and I couldn’t help but join in the prayers for Usher so that no one would suspect me of being the mastermind behind Usher’s illness,” Mireya said with a sigh. Then her hands went up and she ran her fingers through her messy hair. She began to straighten her hair carefully. “But there’s something else that amuses and annoys me.”
“What is it?”
Mireya looked at Torin who was sitting next to her. “Garth wants to summon Ayla to The Palace. He wants Ayla to predict Usher’s fate.”
“Wow!”
Mireya couldn’t stop herself from laughing. “Honestly, I didn’t think the Frostholm Pack still believed in such mystical things.”
Torin felt the same way. But he couldn’t ignore it. “I’m surprised too, but won’t this affect our plans?”
“I don’t think so,” Mireya looked thoughtful for a moment before she continued. “Even if Ayla knows the cause of Usher’s condition, it won’t affect us in any way. Ayla can only predict the ill, she can’t cure it with magic.”
A crooked smile appeared on Torin’s face. He stroked Mireya’s cheek. “You really are clever, Mireya. Really, you amaze me.”
Mireya’s flushed cheeks from their earlier lovemaking became even redder at Torin’s words. Especially because Torin kissed her lips again so tenderly afterwards.
Happiness spread in Mireya’s chest. The plan she and Torin had worked out was coming to an end. One could say that everything was under their control and most importantly, Usher was currently unable to do anything.
In Mireya’s eyes, the Frostholm Pack was like a fearsome predator without fangs and claws. Without an Alpha, the Frostholm Pack would be easy to conquer.
But Mireya reminded herself not to be arrogant and ruthless. She realized that even though she held the reins, there were some people who clearly couldn’t be controlled by her. Besides, there was another mystery that remained unsolved until now.
“Torin, what about your investigation?” Mireya asked after a moment. “Did you find any traces of the golden wolf and Vione?”
Torin shook his head. For a moment, there was a bead of sweat on his forehead, which then slid down the side of his face. “Me and the others combed the place you mentioned, but we didn’t find any traces. I did, however, get some important information for you.”
“What information?”
“It seems we’re not the only ones looking for the golden wolf and Vione,” Torin said, greeted by Mireya’s wide eyes. She nodded. “Your guess was right. The Frostholm Pack is also looking for them.”
Mireya’s chest quivered with frustration. Her hands clenched and she hit the pillow in anger. “Damn you, Storm. You didn’t listen to my orders and went looking for Vione instead. I won’t forgive you later.”
“It seems there are some people who don’t obey you, Mireya.”
Mireya became even more frustrated. Torin’s words were like a confirmation of her earlier thoughts; there were indeed some people she couldn’t control. “You’re right, and now I’m beginning to think that none of them really obeys me. Not only Storm, but also Garth. Even that little Cora didn’t hesitate to show her displeasure in front of me.”
“Let it go, Mireya. There’s nothing to worry about,” Torin said, feeling slightly amused. He took Mireya’s hand and stroked it gently. “Besides, you don’t need it.”
“You’re right, and it makes me impatient to destroy them. I want to see them in pain, suffering and begging for my forgiveness.”
Torin nodded. “Soon, Mireya. We just have to wait a little longer.” He took Mireya’s hand and kissed the back of it. “We will destroy the Frostholm Pack, and after that the Nimbria Pack will rule everything. Besides, we will lead the Nimbria Pack together. So be patient. Don’t let the plans and efforts we’ve made for so long go to waste.”
“You’re right.” Mireya realized this very well. “Besides, my intuition about Garth is not good either. I have the feeling he’s planning something. I’m sure he won’t keep quiet after he saw you in Usher’s room. He seems to be very suspicious of you.”
Torin remained silent. So did Mireya. It seemed they were both thinking about how to get rid of Garth. They realized that Garth would be an obstacle to their plans.
At that moment Mireya’s phone rang quietly. She reached out and took her phone from the bedside table. There was a message and she smiled as she read it.
Torin became curious. “What is it?”
Mireya didn’t answer right away, but her smile widened. Then she said, “It seems that luck is indeed on our side.”
