“Congratulations on becoming the leader of the Niarak branch,” Rose said as she approached the sofa. With a graceful gesture towards the empty chair across from her, she sat down, crossing her legs elegantly.
Kendal Roy responded indifferently, “After Mr. Powell’s death, the position of leader naturally belonged to me.”
“Nothing surprising there.”
After her last setback, she had traveled to the Alwood Mountains.
Staying there for a couple of days, she suddenly heard that Maximo had gathered six thousand experts to eliminate Flynn.
Kendal Roy knew she was outmatched and couldn’t help much, so she could only watch events unfold.
She felt Flynn’s chances were slim.
She was even more worried about her own future.
She hadn’t expected Maximo to have such an extensive network, with so many friends.
By comparison, her few sisters seemed insignificant.
Who would have thought that Cruz and Yves Yancey would intervene and annihilate Maximo and his followers?
The headquarters of the Eight Extremities School were on high alert.
They thought the military was about to move against them.
After much investigation, they learned that Maximo’s actions had angered General Yancey, leading to heavy losses for the Eight Extremities School.
At a meeting held early this morning, the high-level officials of the Eight Extremities School decided that all branches should keep a low profile from now on.
Especially in Niarak, it was crucial to appease General Yancey’s anger.
The headquarters initially planned to send a Grandmaster to Niarak but eventually decided that Kendal Roy, who had been working in Niarak for years, was the most suitable to host a gathering.
Thus, Kendal Roy was appointed as the leader.
Upon receiving her appointment, Kendal Roy returned to Niarak overnight.
At that time, Molly had already prepared breakfast, which Rose and Scarlet declined.
After placing a portion in front of Flynn, he asked:
“Have you had breakfast? You can have mine if you’d like.”
Athena Ross, without looking up, said coldly, “I’m not hungry, keep it for yourself.”
Genevieve Everett, with a look of disdain, sneered, “Still the same after half a year, half-dead, playing the victim!”
“Just go away, you’re annoying!”
“Fine, I’ll leave.” Molly said sadly, lowering her head and turning towards the kitchen.
“Eat in the living room,” Flynn said calmly after sipping some soy milk.
Molly paused, timidly replying, “No, you’re discussing business, I shouldn’t intrude.”
“I want you to eat in the living room, and you must sit next to me!” Flynn’s tone was firm.
Hearing this, Kendal Roy and the others frowned, their expressions darkening.
“Are you trying to disgust us on purpose?” Genevieve Everett glared at Flynn, displeased.
Flynn, peeling a tea egg, replied without looking up, “If you’re disgusted, then leave! Did you think I asked you to come?”
“How dare you!” Genevieve Everett stood up abruptly, her presence intensifying.
Rose narrowed her eyes and leaned back on the sofa silently, her gaze cold as a blade.
Clearly, she was at her limit with Kendal Roy and the others.
“Genevieve, sit down!” Athena Ross commanded softly.
“Yes, sister,” Genevieve Everett glared at Flynn resentfully before reluctantly sitting down.
Athena Ross’s sharp gaze turned to Flynn, saying coldly, “Flynn, we are your friends, not enemies. I hope you can show some respect.”
Flynn took a bite of his side dish and chuckled coldly, “Is this how friends treat me?”
Athena Ross’s brow furrowed slightly, then she said indifferently, “We have some personal grievances with Molly. If it weren’t for her back then…”
“What does that have to do with me?” Flynn interrupted impatiently, looking up at Athena Ross with a cold laugh, “I don’t care what Molly did to you back then, she’s my person now, and you have no right to order her around!”
This statement stunned Kendal Roy and the others, their faces turning extremely grim.
Seeing Flynn defend her like this, Molly’s eyes flickered slightly, and a warm feeling surged in her heart.
In the past three years, besides her master, Flynn was the first to stand up for her like this.
Despite his flaws, the man never faltered in what mattered most.
“Do you claim her as your own?” Genevieve Everett scoffed. “Such audacity! Not just scolding her, but even if I slapped her, would you dare stand up for her?”
“Is being a mid-level Grandmaster that impressive?”
“Don’t boast about Athena being at the peak of Grandmasters. Even if you were at the same level as me and we crossed swords, you wouldn’t gain the upper hand,” she added.
Kendal Roy, after visiting the Alwood Mountains, recounted Flynn’s duel that day.
According to her, Flynn easily defeated three Semi-Grandmasters, proving herself to be a mid-level Grandmaster.
The reason she wasn’t considered a peak Grandmaster or even a Great Grandmaster was that they never really respected Flynn.
It was already shocking enough that Flynn had achieved the status of a mid-level Grandmaster.
It was like a student, consistently ranking last in class, who suddenly scored 90% and ranked tenth in the fifth grade. His classmates would only see it as a fluke, his absolute limit.
Genevieve Everett said this with a face full of pride, then slowly leaned back on the sofa.
Her figure was petite and exquisite, her face as white and cold as snow, her eyes sparkling with disdain and chill.
Athena Ross simply held her teacup, taking a gentle sip.
Her eyes were deep like autumn waters, her eyebrows long, her nose high, her lips delicate, her gaze bright and proud, her entire presence exuding a cold aura.
“Slap her?”
Upon hearing Genevieve’s words, Flynn snickered, raising an eyebrow and coldly snorted:
“You could try and see if I can’t best you!”
After saying this, Flynn barked at Molly, “What are you standing there for? Sit down, next to me!”
“I want to see how they’ll slap your face!”
“Not sitting, right? Fine, then don’t ask me for any information about that power ever again.”
Flynn looked annoyed at Molly, thinking she was too timid in front of the group of older sisters, yet towards him, she acted like a fierce tiger, often baring her teeth.
“I… I’ll sit,” Molly hurriedly sat down after Flynn’s words.
She had come to Niarak to investigate the annihilation of the George family, and Flynn was the one who knew the most about it, so she had no choice but to sit.
“That’s more like it,” Flynn said with a smirk that didn’t reach his eyes. “Remember, you owe them nothing, and there’s no need to apologize.”
“If these women dare insult you again, just smack them hard in the face!”
“You… are courting death!” Genevieve Everett suddenly erupted, her eyes seething with murderous intent.
Rose frowned, turning to Kendal Roy, “Second in command, Molly is my friend. If you’ve brought people here just to humiliate her, please leave; you’re not welcome here!”
Athena Ross’s eyes narrowed slightly, she spoke indifferently, “Molly’s issues are family matters that shouldn’t be aired in front of outsiders.”
“We are here today to support Kendal. Let’s not discuss other matters!”
“Kendal, let’s focus on the main issue!”
Kendal Roy nodded at Athena, then looked at Rose with a sneer, “Ms. Sharp, always so high and mighty!”
“Did you think we came here to beg you for favors?”
“And you want us to leave? Ha, believe it or not, if we leave now, you’ll come begging on your knees for us to return!”
She had been silent since sitting down, quietly observing as the situation unfolded.
But Rose and Flynn always acted so superior, which irritated her.
Previously, as deputy helmsman under Maximo, it was one thing for Rose to disregard her.
Now promoted to helmsman, with the high ranks of the Eight Extremities School clearly stating they would support her position in Niarak as long as she appeased the God of War.
How dare she still look down on me?
“Oh? Second in command, tell me why I would need to kneel before you?” Rose leaned forward, staring at Kendal Roy with a cold laugh.
