Chapter 2268: The Whereabouts of the Heaven Book

“I am not willing to accept this!” Aarav Callahan roared hysterically.
He truly was unwilling! After being sealed for so many years, he had finally been released. He had hoped to lead his people to unify The Wilderness and then return to the Seventh Star Domain. But now, he hadn’t even had the chance to properly see this world before facing death. Who wouldn’t be unwilling in his place?
Rather than this, he would have preferred to remain sealed, at least he could have stayed alive!
Before he finished speaking, his head flew into the air! The nether clan leader had fallen!
“Leader!” The remaining members of the nether clan cried out in pain and began to flee in panic. However, Casey and Stout had no intention of letting them escape alive and swiftly pursued them.
“You actually killed the leader?!” At that moment, an elderly voice full of shock reached Billy’s ears.
Billy turned to see Isai Callahan, whom he had previously met at the Demonic Clan.
Isai’s face was filled with disbelief. How could someone as powerful as the clan leader be killed by a mere Supreme Ancestry Realm youth?
“Elder Isai, run!” Several people behind him shouted simultaneously.
Realizing the situation, Isai Callahan turned and fled, with the others quickly following. Billy didn’t chase them; they no longer posed any threat to him and he figured they would meet again someday.
Five or six minutes later, Casey and Stout returned to the courtyard. Stout’s first action was to check the storage ring.
“Damn, a nether clan leader and he’s this poor?” Stout cursed in dissatisfaction after examining Aarav Callahan’s storage ring.
“What’s inside?” Casey asked with a smile.
“Nothing but a few thousand-year Spirit Fruits! What a pauper!” Stout clicked his tongue.
Casey: “…”
“Boss, when are we going to Wilderness City? Their treasury must be full of treasures!” Stout looked at Billy and asked.
“The nether clan’s main base isn’t in Wilderness City,” Billy replied.
“Damn, I forgot about that. We should have left someone alive!” Stout slapped his forehead.
“Alright, let’s go check on the Harmon family.” Billy said as he walked towards the main hall.
At the same time, Azure Dragon and Azure Fang emerged from the Nine Dragons Cauldron.
“Mr. Billy!” Bradyn Harmon, who was busy working, stopped what he was doing and walked over. After a brief pause, he continued, “Mr. Billy, what about the nether clan?”
“They’re dead,” Billy replied calmly.
“Dead?” Bradyn Harmon was stunned. “What about Aarav Callahan?”
“He’s dead too,” Billy said again. “We’ll talk later. Let’s help them with their injuries first.”
With that, Billy, Casey, and Stout began tending to the wounded.
After about an hour, they were done. The injuries of everyone, including Trent Harmon, had stabilized.
“Thank you again for saving us, Mr. Billy!” Bradyn Harmon walked up to Billy and bowed deeply.
He couldn’t help but feel amazed. He had confirmed that all the nether clan members, including Aarav Callahan and Devyn Callahan, were indeed dead. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have believed it. Aarav Callahan was a late-stage Prime Source Realm expert, one of the strongest in The Wilderness if you didn’t count the Demonic Clan. And yet, he had been killed by Billy!
It was unbelievable!
“No need to thank me; it was a small effort,” Billy waved his hand.
“Elder Bradyn, were the nether clan after that Heaven Book?” Azure Dragon asked.
“Yes,” Bradyn Harmon nodded. “The allure of the Heaven Book is immense. If one could obtain and comprehend it, even a single volume could lead to great power.”
“Why were they so sure your family had a volume of the Heaven Book?” White Tiger asked after a pause. “Just because of something Kash Harmon said?”
“Kash Harmon holds a high position in the Seventh Star Domain, and his skills are among the top there. His words carry significant weight,” Bradyn Harmon replied.
“I have a question,” Azure Dragon continued.
“If you didn’t steal that volume of the Heaven Book, why did Kash Harmon target your branch specifically? After all, you are still part of the Harmon family.”
Bradyn Harmon took a deep breath and looked at Billy.
“Mr. Billy, I must apologize for previously hiding something about the Heaven Book.”
“What do you mean?” Billy asked, puzzled.
“The truth is, I did steal Kash Harmon’s volume of the Heaven Book,” Bradyn Harmon admitted after taking a deep breath.
“What?!” Everyone, including Billy, was stunned.
“You really stole the Heaven Book?” White Tiger asked after a pause.
“Then why didn’t you hand it over when Starry Palace and the nether clan pressured you? Is that book more important than your entire family’s lives?”
“You don’t understand,” Bradyn Harmon sighed again.
“First, not handing over the Heaven Book was precisely to save my family’s lives. If I handed it over, none of us would survive; they would wipe us out to keep it secret.”
“Second, the Heaven Book is no longer in our possession.”
“It’s not with you?” Judge asked in surprise. “Then where is it?”
“In Skyreach City,” Bradyn Harmon replied.
“Skyreach City? Where is that?” Judge pressed further.
“Skyreach City is one of the core cities of the Seventh Star Domain and home to the Harmon family. We were exiled from there to The Wilderness,” Bradyn Harmon explained.
“As they say, the most dangerous place is also the safest. Kash Harmon would never dream that the Heaven Book is still in Skyreach City!”
As he spoke, he took out a token-like object and handed it to Billy.
“Mr. Billy, you have saved my family twice now. I have nothing to repay you with but this token as a token of my gratitude.”
“What is this?” Billy asked.
“I entrusted the Heaven Book to the head of Cloudhaven Sect for safekeeping. If you ever go to Skyreach City, visit Cloudhaven Sect,” Bradyn Harmon explained.
“Show this token to their leader, and she will give you the Heaven Book.”
“Are you serious?” Stout clicked his tongue. “You really gave such a treasure to Cloudhaven Sect’s leader? Are you sure she’ll give it back?”
“She will,” Bradyn Harmon nodded. “Otherwise, I wouldn’t have given it to her.”
“Moreover, no one in Cloudhaven Sect can comprehend that Heaven Book. To them, it’s a curse they’d rather be rid of.”
“You couldn’t comprehend it either?” Judge asked after a pause. “If you couldn’t understand it, why not return it to Kash Harmon?”
“Kash Harmon always suspected I stole it but had no proof,” Bradyn Harmon continued. “If I returned it, I’d be admitting guilt. Knowing him, he wouldn’t spare my branch.”
With a self-deprecating tone, he added, “Human greed is insatiable and can lead to trouble. If I hadn’t coveted that Heaven Book in the first place, I wouldn’t be in this mess today.”
“What kind of person is Kash Harmon?” Azure Dragon asked.
“In public, he’s seen as a highly respected leader of a major family in the Seventh Star Domain,” Bradyn Harmon replied.
“And in reality?” Azure Dragon pressed further.
