“Who are you people?”
As Billy and his group approached the town, a black-robed elder, accompanied by twenty or thirty others, emerged from the town.
“Get lost!” Jennifer replied.
“How dare you!” a man among them shouted angrily. “Do you have a death wish?”
“You have three seconds to leave, or you die!” Jennifer said again.
“So eager to die? I’ll grant your wish!” The man frowned and attacked Jennifer.
He barely took a few steps before being thrown back three or four kilometers, landing at the town’s entrance. He rolled several times before spitting out a mouthful of blood and then lay still.
“Huh?!” The group was stunned.
“Attack! Kill them!” the black-robed elder shouted angrily.
He charged first, followed by the thirty others.
At that moment, a crescent-shaped blade flashed through their ranks like lightning.
Thud… Including the black-robed elder, over a dozen people ran a few more steps before collapsing, their legs twitching briefly before they went still.
The strongest among them was the black-robed elder, who was only at the third-rank Prime Source Realm. With Billy’s strength, a casual strike was enough to kill a third-rank Prime Source Realm.
Seeing this, the remaining people gasped in shock and quickly stopped, their faces filled with fear.
“Who… who are you people?” a man asked, trembling.
“Get lost!” Billy replied.
“You… you have some nerve. We are from the Nether Clan. How dare you kill…” The man took a deep breath and continued.
Before he could finish, a blade flashed, and his body split in two, collapsing to the ground.
The others didn’t dare to speak anymore and scattered like birds and beasts.
After Stout collected the black-robed elder’s storage rings, the group continued toward the town.
A few minutes later, they walked down a main street in the town. The passersby glanced at them briefly before continuing with their business, seemingly used to such scenes.
After walking for about fifteen minutes, they arrived at an open area at the edge of the town.
In the distance, there was an ancient well, and next to it, an old hunchbacked man was chopping wood.
One person, one well, one axe-an unusual sight!
“Judge, can you sense any aura from that person?” Soul Chaser asked Judge.
“No aura fluctuations at all. He should be a non-martial artist,” Judge replied after shaking his head.
“I’m afraid it’s not that simple,” Soul Chaser said, shaking his head.
“You’re here?” The hunchbacked man suddenly spoke without looking up.
Billy and his group were puzzled.
“Excuse me, sir, are you talking to us?” Judge asked.
“After all these years, you still haven’t given up?” The hunchbacked man ignored Judge and continued after a pause. “Everything is destined. You can’t go against fate. Just let it go.”
Hearing this, Billy and his group vaguely understood and turned to look at Jennifer.
It was clear that he was talking to Jennifer!
“Maybe my coming here today is also fate,” Jennifer replied.
“Sir, are you from the Demonic Clan?” Billy asked Jennifer after some thought.
Upon hearing their conversation, he had a sudden realization and guessed as much.
“Huh?!” Casey and the others were taken aback but seemed to understand as well.
“I am a sinner of the Demonic Clan,” Jennifer responded. “Without me, the Demonic Clan wouldn’t be in this situation today.”
“You don’t need to blame yourself too much. What happened back then wasn’t your fault; it was just bad timing…” The hunchbacked man continued.
“Wrong is wrong. There’s no excuse!” Jennifer interrupted him and asked after a pause, “Has anyone from above come down over the years?”
“Yes,” the hunchbacked man nodded. “They don’t want the Demonic Clan to rise again, fearing it will be uncontrollable like ten thousand years ago.”
“Understood,” Jennifer nodded.
“Sir, can you explain what’s going on?” Judge asked.
“Interested in hearing a story?” The old man turned to Billy.
“We’re all ears,” Billy replied.
“A thousand years ago…” Jennifer began.
At that moment, an overwhelming aura swept through the sky, making even Billy feel suffocated.
“What perfect timing!” The hunchbacked man looked up at the sky and said calmly.
Shortly after he spoke, three figures flew down from the sky.
Leading them was a middle-aged man in green robes who appeared to be in his forties or fifties. Behind him were an elderly man and woman.
Billy released his spiritual power to probe their cultivation levels and narrowed his eyes slightly. The elderly man was at the eighth-rank Prime Source Realm, while the elderly woman was at the ninth-rank. As for the middle-aged man in green robes, he had no aura fluctuations, indicating he was above the ninth-rank Prime Source Realm.
“Miss Jennifer, long time no see!” The middle-aged man in green robes greeted Jennifer as they approached.
“You didn’t come here by chance, did you?” Jennifer asked calmly without much expression on her face.
“There are no such coincidences,” Neil Armstrong, the middle-aged man in green robes, smiled faintly. “I came specifically to see Miss Jennifer.”
“I’m flattered,” Jennifer responded. “What do you want?”
“Nothing much, just to deliver a message,” Neil Armstrong replied.
“If I’m not mistaken, you’re asking me to return to the mid-tier star domain?” Jennifer asked.
“As expected of Miss Jennifer,” Neil Armstrong continued. “Actually, staying in the mid-tier star domain isn’t bad for you.”
“What if I refuse?” Jennifer asked.
“You should know the consequences of doing so,” Neil Armstrong replied. “The era of the Demonic Clan is long gone. Persisting is meaningless. If I were you, I wouldn’t come back…”
“You are not me,” Jennifer interrupted him.
“Are you really going to be stubborn?” Neil Armstrong asked again. “You know very well that you can’t defeat me!”
He pointed at the hunchbacked man. “Even with his help!”
“Let’s try,” Jennifer said calmly.
“You really want to try?” Neil Armstrong responded.
“If you’re afraid to try, don’t block my way!” Jennifer looked at him.
“What arrogance!” The elderly woman at the eighth-rank Prime Source Realm sneered coldly. “Do you still think you’re the young lady of the Demonic Clan? Mr. Armstrong is being polite to you out of respect. You better know your place!”
“Huh?” Billy and his group were stunned again. Jennifer was the young lady of the Demonic Clan?!
Before she could finish speaking, an invisible wave of energy flashed before her, distorting the void.
The one who acted was the hunchbacked man!
“Get lost!” The elderly woman frowned and struck out with her palm.
With a loud bang, she was sent flying two or three kilometers away, spitting out blood with a pale face.
“If your master didn’t tell you to speak, you’d better keep quiet!” The hunchbacked man said calmly.
“You…” The elderly woman spat out another mouthful of blood and spoke harshly.
“Enough!” Neil Armstrong waved his hand and looked at Jennifer. “Since you’re so determined, come with me. Let’s have a duel!”
“If you can last three moves against me, I’ll leave immediately!”
With that, he flew into the air!
