Rezso’s POV
I was walking in the garden, I had just gotten out of duty and I decided to take a walk in the garden where everything seemed to be at peace.
Watching the morning breeze hit gently against the flowers, making petals fall to the grassy floor, causing the garden to be filled with different scents of the flowers.
I smiled when a particular scent hit my nostrils, reminding me of her Highness, the Queen. I moved my nose, sniffing in the floral scents that smelled like Her Highness.
A smile tugged at my lips, remembering my first time with her, right in the garden. How she smiled brightly even though her mind seemed to be bothered.
“She’s such an amazing person, smiling when her world seemed to be crumbling down at her feet.” I chuckled, my cheeks heated up as I smiled at the thought of the Queen in my head.
“Why am I even blushing?” I whined, my palms going to my cheeks as I tried to wipe out whatever reddish stuff that must have found its way to my cheeks.
It was true that I had the slightest crush on her Highness the first time I set my eyes on her. I never knew who she was then, every single admiration I had for her died the moment I realized she was for his Majesty.
“Why would a guy like me dare crush on His Majesty’s woman?” I laughed at myself, plucking out a petal and stared lovingly at it, “Besides, I also have a man now.” I felt my cheeks heat up even more as my mind went to Dixon, the champion who not only won a battle but also won my heart without putting up a fight.
“I must be out of my mind, thinking about a man this early in the morning?” I chuckled and turned around to leave when I bumped into someone.
“Watch it!” I gasped and hastily wrapped my arms around the person’s waist before she hit the ground.
“Th-Thank you!” the person stuttered, her head bowed and I raised my hand to lift her head, the voice sounded familiar.
“Rez…”
“Shayna!” I chuckled, putting her on her feet before taking a step back from her, “I knew it was you.”
A faint blush on her cheeks as she stared at me, her puppy eyes flickered happily. “How did you know it was me?
“Huh?” I smirked, wrapping my hand on my arm, “I have gotten familiar with your voice, you see.”
She giggled shortly before she let out a sad sigh. Her face fell and I arched my eyebrows, wondering what was going on with her.
“You okay?” I asked, walking out of the garden with Shayna trailing behind me.
“I’m not okay. I’m far from being okay.” she breathed out, I halted on my track and turned around to face her.
We were completely out of the garden, and back to the maids quarter. I found a bench in a corner and pulled her towards it.
“Tell me, what’s the problem?” I asked, sitting down quietly on the bench, before pulling her to sit down with me.
Shayna gulped, her head bowed as she picked on her nails. “I can’t find Princess.” she groaned, her throat vibrating as she spoke.
“Huh? Princess? You mean… The Queen?” I asked to be sure we were on the same page.
“Yeah… The Queen.” she raised her face, staring at me with her worried gaze.
“Can’t you just mind linking her and asking her where she is? Aren’t you like… Um, same species?” I stared at her, my eyes shifted to her lips, watching her bit her lips until there was a trace of blood on her lip.
“I have tried that, but I can’t connect with her, I think something bad happened to her, don’t you think so too?” tears shimmered in her eyes as she stared at me.
“You know, just because you can’t get to her doesn’t have to mean that she’s in danger, you know?” I uttered, trying to make her calm down at least.
“I’m worried, you see, she hasn’t for once locked me from mind linking with her, I think Princess is in danger for real.” Shayna pouted as she bit on her thumb.
I shook my head, not wanting to believe that something would happen to the Queen and that her maid would be the first to know. I mean, the King should be the first to know, right? And if the King should have known, everywhere wouldn’t be quiet and peaceful like that it was, no?
“Hey, I think she’s okay, but doesn’t want anyone to disturb her mind, remember where she is?” I smirked to myself and shook my head as I watched her get all worried over someone who was likely to be in her husband’s arms.
Wasn’t it just last night they were both staring lovingly at each other on the dance floor?
Shayna glared at me, her puppy eyes slightly widened as she raised her eyebrows. “Okay? I think she’s far from okay. I haven’t seen her ever since the beginning of the banquet when I watched her enter the hall with His Majesty.” she wrapped her arms around her chest, her eyes told me she knew what she was saying, but I didn’t want to believe that the Queen would be in trouble when she was with his Majesty all night at the banquet hall.
“I think you’re worrying for nothing.” I sighed, and carefully placed my palm on her shoulders, making sure she was fine with my hands on her shoulders before I began to pat her shoulders.
She heaved a sigh, her shoulders thrust up and down under my palm as she did that.
“Stop worrying.” I forced out a reassuring smile, my head snapped in the opposite direction, watching the maids move around the compound, and guards, standing guide at their various spots, none of them was bothered with worry and I nodded my head, realizing I wasn’t the only person who seemed to be at peace.
Nothing was wrong with the Queen, Shayna had just been worried over nothing.
“Do you see that?” I removed my hands from her shoulders, pointing out to the maids and guards who were going about with their activities.
“See what?” she groaned, moving her eyes in the direction of my hand.
“Those guards and maids over there,” I smiled, making sure she was getting my point even when I hadn’t said a word, “they seemed too relaxed and it wouldn’t have been like that for them if the Queen was truly in danger.”
“I think you’re right.” she sighed, standing up from the bench.
“Where to?” I raised my head, staring at her, watching her strengthen her dress.
“Lady Everest called for me earlier, but I was too worried about Princess that I couldn’t acknowledge her calls, now that you’ve assured me that the Princess is safe, I’m going to meet Lady Everest.” she smiled, her eyes sparkled and I nodded at her.
“Okay?”
“Okay.” she smiled, jogging away from the spot. I sighed, rubbing my forehead tiredly.
“Staring at a lady, huh?” someone groaned behind me, large arms wrapped around my waist from the back.
That scent, that strong arms, that hoarse voice? Without looking, I already knew who it was. I could recognize him from anywhere.
“Dixon!” I called out, moving my head back, resting on his large chest that seemed to be made for me.
“Hmm,” he mumbled, resting his chin on my shoulder. His breath was uneven, and I could hear the sound of his heartbeat.
“What are you doing?” I asked, wrapping my hands around his arms, trying to break free from the hug, but who was I kidding? He was stronger than the three of me combined.
“What does it look like? I’m hugging you!” he chuckled, his hot breath on my cheek made my inside melt in joy.
“I know,” I cleared my throat,
“But what if someone is watching?” I asked, my voice was filled with worry as I moved my gaze around, trying to check if anyone was looking our way.
Dixon scoffed, tightening his grip on me. “So?” he put his nose on my neck and breathed in my scent, “Are you ashamed or scared?” he asked, gently sucking on my neck.
“None!” I moaned out the word, I was losing my breath until he suddenly stopped and I heaved a sigh of relief.
“Good! Exactly what I want to hear.” he smiled, placing a soft kiss on my collarbone. Making me tense into his touch.
“Can you move away?” I chuckled, moving my hand to his face, he placed a soft kiss on my palm and I couldn’t help but chuckle like a fool who was completely in love.
“I don’t want to.” he grinned, taking my finger into his mouth and sucking gently on it.
Pervert! I chucked before pulling my hand away from his face before he decided to lick my entry hand.
“We can’t be like this, we might get in trouble.” I sighed, rubbing his arms on my waist.
“Trouble? Meaning?” he groaned, moving his chin away from my shoulder.
“What if someone sees us and reports it to His Majesty? The rules, have you forgotten there must not be romance among the…”
Dixon hissed, moving a hand up to my chest, pressing me into his chest. “Fuck the rules, I don’t care.”
He wouldn’t back out, would he? “What if someone reports us to His Majesty…”
“Shhh! He wouldn’t care less. The King already had a lot on his plate, believe me, he wouldn’t care about us.” he smirked, rubbing his palm on my chest. Searching for my nipple with his fingers.
I held my breath as he slid his palm into my shirt, pinching my nipples real hard.
“Sure?” I bit my lip as I tried to stop myself from screaming out loud when he pinched my nipple with his nails.
“Hmm,” he moaned into my ear,
“Just don’t complain and let’s be like this for a little while. I miss you.” he breathed into my ear, placing a light kiss on my cheek.
