Nova’s POV
Walking down the hallway with my palm gently pressed to my mouth, I smiled, recalling what had happened in the Lycan King’s apartment.
My hand found its way to my chest and I ran my fingers on my breast through the light shirt and double foam bra.
Even though I was unable to run my fingers on my breast, I could still feel the hardness of my nipple and how Prescott had softly pinched it earlier.
“Oh,” I grinned, taking my hand off my chest as I slowly approached the infirmary. I could hear soft groans coming from the inner part of the infirmary and a light sigh escaped my mouth.
“Never knew it was that bad!” I blurted out, a wave of guilt washing over me.
After I left Prescott’s apartment in search of my family, I heard from a guard that they were in the infirmary, taking care of the injured. I never knew anyone got hurt in the fight because Prescott never mentioned anything about anyone getting hurt.
I entered the infirmary to see my mom, standing in front of my Dad as they were paying a closer eye on a guy that was been treated by the physician.
“Dad!” I called, running up to them. Mom was the first to turn, followed by Dad.
“Princess,”
“Novalie, dear,”
They both said, smiling as they spread their arms for me.
“I’m glad you guys are safe.” I cried out and jumped into their arms while sobbing quietly.
“I was worried when I heard that you left the palace in the time the rogues came, but now, I’m more than relieved to see that you’re okay.” Mom sniffed, running her hand on my back.
“I heard from the royal driver that his Majesty asked you to hide in his apartment, hope you didn’t hurt anywhere?” Dad mumbled, he looked worried as he scanned my body with his eyes.
I smiled, moving away from them. “I am okay, You don’t have to be worrying about me, Mom!” I nodded my head while smiling, for her to see that I was not hurt and that I was doing great.
“Yes, I was at His Majesty’s apartment on his order, I didn’t even know what the outside of his apartment looked like until he returned.” I smile, remembering the incident in his room.
“Oh, dear!” Mom heaved a sign of relief.
I moved my gaze around, seeing some maids on the beds, their whimper filled the room as the available physicians attended to them.
“Where is Tam?” I asked the guard told me she was with my parents, and it didn’t seem like she was at the infirmary.
“Huh?” Mom raised her brows, looking around in search of my sister.
“She’s over there.” Dad pointed out to a closed door and I gave him a thankful smile. He always seemed to know where my sister was when Mom would seem clueless about where she might be.
“Your sister is doing amazingly well, taking care of the injured when she should be resting in her room,” Dad added, grabbing Mom’s shoulder and rocking her to his body.
“She’s a strong girl.” Mom nodded, sighing as her head gently pressed against Dad’s chest.
“I agree with you.” I smiled, turned on my feet and walked up to the closed door.
The door opened from inside and a maid stepped out of the room. Her arm was bandaid and she bowed before walking away.
I grabbed the doorknob and pushed the door open. I watched my sister pack up the medical box.
“Tam?” I called, She turned back and smiled before moving her gaze back to things she was doing.
“Hey, my precious little girl is here.” She chuckled and closed the lid before sitting back down on the seat.
“How are you?” I dragged my feet closer to her and plunged into the seat beside her.
“Aside from my back that hurt like hell, I’m fine.” She chuckled, grabbed a waste bin and began to shove the used wool into it.
“Pitch.” I scoffed, eyeing the bloodied wool in her hands. “Stop being a tease.”
Tamsyn suddenly stopped, staring at my face like she suddenly remembered what she wanted to say.
“My back hurt. I think one of those double-crossing bastards scratched my back with his claws.” she hissed, dropping the bin after moving every used wool inside.
“Does it hurt?” I gulped, moving my gaze to her back, but I couldn’t see anything since she was wearing a dress.
Tam knitted her brows, chuckling as if I had just asked a stupid question.
“It hurt as hell,” she smirks, staring at me with her face void of emotions.
“Um, should I help you treat it?” I asked, not knowing what else to say to her.
“Sure,” she shrugged, relaxing back into the seat.
“Then, come let me treat you here.” I moved my seat back, staring at her to do the same.
“I would rather die than get treated in a place like this.” She smirked, glaring at the four corners of the infirmary room.
“What happened to a place like this?” I asked, moving my gaze around the room but I couldn’t see anything wrong with the room.
“Here… With all these sounds and horrible smells? I will pass.” she smirked, moving her fingers up to block her nostril from perceiving whatever smell she said she was perceiving.
I sighed, not knowing what else to say. Or perhaps, I could have her treated in my room.
“So, are you done here? Let get you to my room and I’ll treat you there.” I smiled, hoping she would agree to follow me, considering how she was avoiding me that morning.
“Yes, let me quickly return these and I will join you.” Tam stood up from the seat, grabbed the medical box and walked over to a tall shelf.
“Okay,” I mumbled, watching her open a drawer and drop the box inside.
“Hey, I’m back. Let’s go.” she returned to me. I nodded my head before standing up from the seat.
We walked out of the infirmary after telling our parents that we were done there. Tam bumped her shoulder against mine and I was forced to look at her.
“Where were you, I heard no one saw you earlier,” she asked, I already knew what she was talking about because our parents had also asked me the same question.
“Yes, I… I was at his Majesty.” I gulped, moving my gaze away from her as I mentioned his name.
“Oh, great.” she chuckled, clamped her mouth shut as we made our way to my room.
“Sit on the chair, I’ll go grab the box,” I told her as soon as we got to my room.
“Yes, Your Majesty… Or what do they call you over there?” she smirked, plunging into the seat at my study.
“You… just wait here, I will fetch the box.” I groaned, turning on my feet before walking over to my bathroom.
“Alright.” I heard her faint chuckles as I shut the door behind me.
I let out a soft sigh as I grabbed the box. I walked back to my room to see her taking off her dress.
“So, what happened this morning? You literary ignored me. You stood us during breakfast too.” I asked, remembering that the same person who was sitting in my room was ignoring me like a shit this morning.
“I don’t remember any of it, do you know why I acted like that?” she threw the question back at me and I shook my head before sitting on the table, dropping the box beside me.
“Hmm,” I opened the box, staring at the little scratch on her back.
“I don’t know. If I do I wouldn’t be asking you.” I feigned ignorance, even though I knew what was going on in her mind.
“Good. I’ve forgotten about it either.” She grabbed candy from the box and shoved it in her mouth.
How can she eat things like this when she was pregnant? I groaned, watching her chew the candy as I dressed her back.
“I think I’m done,” I uttered, grabbing the box and closing it.
“Done patching everything? That was fast.” she gasped, staring over her shoulder, staring at the neat band-aid on her back.
She smirked, resting back in the seat. She turned her seat to look at my face.
“So, now that the fight against the rogues is over, how about that beast? When should we take our revenge on him?” she asked, I sighed, propping my arms on the table as I stared into space.
“Let’s do that after everything is over…”
“Everything is over, Nova! Don’t give me an excuse.” She groaned and I gulped hard like never before. “Bring him to the ground store after breakfast tomorrow. We will end everything there,” she smirked, picked her dress off the table and exited my room.
“How the hell am I going to do this?” I cried out, gripping my head as I realised what I had gotten myself into.
