Chapter 105
Hazel
My heart throbbed in pain as I hugged my pillow tightly, genuinely wishing that it could be exchanged with the competent arms of Hegar.
I was beginning to get offended. Why hadn’t he checked on me, yet? What could have kept him so busy that he didn’t bother to ask after me to know if I was doing well or not?
Iris kept assuring me that he still loved me and he’d come for me soon, but was it too early to lose hope?
A knock sounded on the door, jolting me from my reverie and an irritated sigh exited my lips. Hunger pangs gnawed in my stomach and the last thing I wanted was for anyone to drag me out of the room unnecessarily.
Sluggishly, I twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open and immediately, I froze. My breathing paused for a moment and I could tell that the world had stopped rotating.
Hegar stood before gracefully me, smelling like an edible flower. His lips spread into a wide grin and he splayed his arms, urging me to come closer to him. Several emotions ran through me, but my body decided to be faster than my brain and in the next minute, I was on him, nearly pushing him to the ground.
“Oh, Hegar, where have you been? Don’t you want to be my mate anymore?” I dumped the questions on him, clutching onto his shirt so that he wouldn’t disappear.
He chuckled deeply, amusedly. “Relax, girl, I’m not going anywhere?”
My senses finally returned and I climbed down from his body, glaring furiously at him. “I don’t think you mean what you said. How could you abandon me like that? Don’t I mean anything to you? Weren’t you the one confessing your undying love to me a few months ago and now you’re turning your back on me?”
I sounded dramatic and the smug smile on the face wasn’t helping. It felt like he was enjoying my rants and I didn’t like it.
“Say something,” I punched his face lightly and he winced, pretending to be in pain.
He raised in hands in surrender and ducked his head, his lips instantly locking on mine. I gasped and tried to push him away, but his hands were swift to keep me still, unmoving.
Seeing that I didn’t have a choice, I allowed myself to melt into the kiss that I’d been daydreaming about all week. I’d caught a glimpse of him when Alpha Gradel who was coronated yesterday, sentenced the traitors, but he became scarce after that.
A moan worked its way through my throat and I shivered uncontrollably. Instantly, he broke the kiss and wiggled his brows playfully.
“I thought you were breathing down fire and brimstone a few moments ago, I guess I quenched it fast,” He jokes.
I lowered my lashes, my cheeks heating up with shyness almost overwhelming me. “You can say that,” I giggled and pressed my lips.
He took my hand and kissed the back of my palm. “I’m so sorry, Hazel. I didn’t plan to leave you in the dark like that but with everything that happened, I had to save the pack from the hands of Elda. The only mistake I made was not carrying you along and I regret it deeply,”
“You don’t have to regret anything, Hegar. I would have slowed you down if you tried to let me in on your plans and I’m not angry at you, though I was a bit sad that we couldn’t see each other. But I consoled yourself with the fact that your safety was more paramount and you were doing something very noble for the pack. I’m so proud of you,” I confessed.
“Are you sure that you aren’t angry at me?” He asked.
I shook my head. “I can’t be mad at you for so long even if I try,” I admitted with another blush.
He moistened his lip and nodded, his eyes blazing with relief and excitement. “Alright then. I have something to show you and tell you,”
I ran my fingers through my hair messy hair and pulled away from him. It was already late in the afternoon but I hadn’t even taken my bath.
“I’m not looking so good right now,”
“You can go and take care of yourself, I’ll be right here waiting,”
I bit in a smile and inclined my head, wondering why I was blushing excessively. Even without looking at a mirror, I knew that my cheeks would have turned to the darkest shade of red.
“Well, I plan to make you wait for a long time,” I replied coyly and disappeared into the room.
An hour later, I was clad in a red off-shoulder dress with the flared skirt sitting above my knees. It was quite unusual for me to dress that way, but today wasn’t a normal day.
A reunion between my mate and I was happening and we had a lot of things to catch up on, coupled with the strange desire to look the part today. All of that made up for the choice of my attire.
I paired it with a pair of silver pumps and the set of jewelry he gifted me on the night of our consummation. Just thinking about brought shivers down my spine.
“I’m ready,” I blurted the second I walked out of the room.
And his smile was everything I wanted.
“You look ravishing, Hazel. You are indeed gorgeous and I don’t regret having you as my mate. Shall we?” He reached for my hand and I entwined both arms together.

My jaw dropped at the magnificent building standing before me. I snapped my gaze to him, then the building and back to him in awe.
“What is going on here? How were you able to acquire this expensive property?” I couldn’t hold back my excitement.
“The Alpha, Gradel, gifted it to me as the reward of my loyalty and he also said that he wanted our future children to live frivolously,” My eyes widened and my heart swelled with joy. “Don’t tell anyone he said that,” He whispered that part.
“Wow,” I gasped. “I’m going to thank him profusely once I set my eyes on him again,”
He laughed briefly. “He might air you. Don’t even bother and you want to know what else he did?” He asked, leading me into the living room.
“What else could be greater than this?” I rasped impatiently.
“He made me the third man in the pack after our Luna. So I won’t be a mere right-hand man any longer, I’ve become the third in command. Isn’t that awesome?”
My mouth was filled with words, but somehow they couldn’t get past my lips as I broke down in tears. I couldn’t believe that my fate-no, our fate would change this rapidly.
Hegar wiped the tears off my cheeks and snaked his arm around my waist. “I know that the tears you’re shedding are born out of joy, but how about we change the narrative?” A smirk tugged at his lips.
“And what could that be?”
“Let’s desecrate every room in this house while you shed pleasurable tears on your release,” He suggested naughtily while forming circles with the tip of his tongue on my neck.
“You want to defile this holy house?”
With a snap, my dress crumbled to my feet, exposing my underwear. “Yes, right away. I’ve stayed away from you for so long and my mind can’t think of doing any other thing aside from being inside of you,”
My walls clenched in anticipation and I felt a pool of wetness forming between my thighs. “I’m all yours, honey. Do whatever you please with me,” I surrendered to his touch.
