ALPHA JAKE’S POV
“You can’t just dish me and now you say you don’t want to see me, Jake” Violet yelled.
“Stop it, Violet, stop it” I retorted.
I was at the club with my boys when she walked up to me. I have been avoiding her for months now and I tried not to go to places where she could find me and here at the club was one of such places.
But how was she able to gain access to this place? Oh, I forgot, she still has the visitors’ card that I gave to her and that is what she must have used to come inside. Now I have to face her and say my mind to her. It is high time that she got herself a mate and live a meaningful life.
“No, you cannot just stop it. We cannot just stop it and act as if nothing happened between us. You told me that you wanted to control and I gave myself to you willingly and with not even an iota of resistance but where has that gotten me?” she asked.
“I am your master, Violet and you have no right to ask me any question. Please leave now” I replied.
Maybe I was wrong with the way that I treated her, but she was just too much to bear. She was becoming a burden to me and added no value whatsoever. Now I have my luna and she is giving me all that I want. As a matter of fact, I have no need for Violet or any other woman for that matter.
“Not anymore, alpha, I have lost you long ago to the strange woman even before I realized it. You left me, alpha, you threw me away like a piece of trash” she cried.
“See I will come for you when I need you, okay. For now, there is a lot going on that I have to take care of especially the issue with Dark Age Pack” I responded.
“But then there was always an issue but you still have the time for me and only me” she drew closer to me and tried to rub my neck.
I pushed her away gently. “Stop it now, Violet, this is not the place for that,” I said.
“What difference does it make, my master? You never seem to care. You love weird romance and I am here to give all of that to you” she whispered and tried to touch me again.
I removed her hands. “Don’t push me, Violet. This is a public place don’t you have any shame?” I blasted.
“No, now it is my turn and you have some rules about dignity. But when it was the strange woman you were ready” she retorted.
“She is your luna, Violet, and this should be the last time that you should address her in such a derogatory way before me or anyone else. Address her properly” I reprimanded her for being demeaning towards my luna.
Her countenance changed. She was filled with rage and her face turned red. However, she tried so much to keep her temper in check. She knows me better than to try to provoke me.
“With the luna, you could go wild with her even in a restaurant. That was my place, Jake, that was the restaurant that you promised me. You built it according to my specification and gave it all to her. It is my dream place, alpha Jake” she sniveled.
Her heartbeat was loud enough for me to hear. I know her and I could tell that this is only but emotional blackmail. All she wanted was to draw some pity from me and make me see her as weak and helpless. But that is not going to work this time or any other time. I am not the old Jake that she used to know. Right now, I am smarter than all of her tricks.
“It was built for my luna and not my mistress” I rebutted.
“But then it was promised to me. You gave her my position and now you are going to discard me and treat me like trash” she lamented.
“I am your submissive, master, and I remained a very obedient one. is this the reward I get?” she asked.
Hearing her question made me become helpless and I could not bring myself to look her in the face. yes, this was not the life that I had promised her, I have promised her way better treatment than I was dishing out. I want to be good, but in my bid to do so, I am been very cruel to the lady that I have placed under my protection and sworn to defend.
VIOLET’S POV
“She is your luna, Violet, and this should be the last time that you should address her in such a derogatory way before me or anyone else. Address her properly” he pointed out.
My whole world came crumbling before me as these words left his lips. He used to love and adorn me and place me above every other. But now all that is gone and I am just like one of his servants.
I could tell that from the start he never loved her. So what has changed? He only brought her in because of her naivety. He wanted someone that would be just like his other furniture and acquisitions and speak only when asked to.
Where then did this love come from? Why did he change all of a sudden, licking her feet and practically worshipping the ground that she steps on? Why is he now in love with her very existence?
“With the luna, you could go wild with her even in a restaurant. That was my place, Jake, that was the restaurant that you promised me. You built it according to my specification and gave it all to her. It is my dream place, alpha Jake” I cried.
I did not act fast. I was foolish to have underestimated her. Now I have to come up with a very clever plan, one that would overthrow her and place me in her stead. I am going to carve out a great plan and even if the plan will take me forever to achieve, I will ensure that I pull through with it.
“It was built for my luna and not my mistress” he emphasized.
My plan is not working. All I want was for him to take pity on me and draw me closer. I am still his submissive right, and he was never supposed to discard his submissive.
“But then it was promised to me. You gave her my position and now you are going to discard me and treat me like trash” I lamented.
He did not put up any defense again rather, he avoided my gaze.
“I am your submissive, master, and I remained a very obedient one. is this the reward I get?” I asked.
If all that I have done here tonight was unable to trap him, I know that this would not fail. He had promised me so much as his submissive. He had sworn to protect me and he should be a man of his word and make good of his promises.
nevertheless, he continued to avoid my gaze. “Speak, alpha, ask me to leave your presence and never come back and I would gladly do that,” I said just to guilt trap him even more.
He turned to look at me but remained quiet for some time. I wondered what might be going through his mind and I feared that he was really going to ask me to leave.
“I am not discarding you, Violet. I will never do that. What do you take me for, a monster? See, I am doing this for both of us. I have my mate now and I don’t want to waste your time with me with no prospect. Look for your mate too and live happily with him” he replied.
“A mate?” I murmured. Just how bad can this get.
I was shredded. I was never expecting such a reply from him. He is finally wishing me away. He is asking me to leave so that he would have more time with his luna.
But where did the idea of her being his mate emanate from? He was not meant to find a mate and if he should lay claim to any lady as his mate then that lady should be none other but myself. He had met me before her and he would have married me if he did not run about galloping, gallivanting, and looking for the impossible.
Back then, he had told me that he wanted a lady that would be at his beck and call, one that was never going to question him. But then, Scarlet has none of such attributes. She even went against his will in my presence when she had just arrived and now she even dictates to him how he could address his servants.
She is the exact opposite of everything that he yearns for, so why then is he still with her?
“Yes Scarlet is my mate, Violet, she gives me the peace that I so much desire. She complements me” he replied.
“And what if I am able to prove you wrong, will you discard her and come for me?” I requested.
I don’t know what I was thinking to have made such bait, but I just knew that I have to do something whether feasible or not.
“Scarlet is not in your class, Violet, so I am making no bait with you” he replied.
Yes, that is it. He prides in the fact that Scarlet is not in my class and so if I could show him something to the contrary, just anything, he would have no other choice but to come running to me.
But then she is the daughter of a beta and there would be nothing against her. This was beginning to look more difficult than what I bargained for.
“What if you find out that she is not who she is… no sorry, what if there is something or anything about her that you are not aware of, will you take me as yours in her stead?” I insisted.
“I insist that I am making no bait with you. Forget about me and forget about everything” he replied.
Oh no, this can’t be happening to me. But I am not going to relent. I had him once and I will have him over and over again if I so much desire to.
“Are you for real, Jake?” I asked.
“And one more thing before you leave. Always address me as everyone else does” he ordered.
I wanted to say something, but I got choked and could barely form any word.
“You can leave now” he ordered.
I took a look at him, this time I was more determined to have him alone to myself. Scarlet is the reason why I am made to suffer this way and when it is my turn, I will make sure that her suffering comes ten times more than I have ever suffered.
As I was leaving, he called. “Wait”
Hearing his call, my heart skipped a beat and I instantly stopped and turned to him. I was anxious, has he finally changed his mind? I could tell that all he was doing was pulling my legs and he never meant any of those words that he had said to me.
He does not need to apologize to me, all he needed to do was to say my name and I would come running into his arm. I would never remain angry with him for long, he is mine and I am his and nothing would ever change that.
Looking at him standing there before me, a smile formed on my face and my longing for him increased. He needed me just as much as I needed him and there was no need to try to play hard to get.
“Hand over the visitors’ card with you. I might be coming here with my luna anytime soon and I would not want to bump into you” he ordered.
Oh my god, he must be joking as this is not why he had stopped me. I was going to start laughing at his childishness but when he stretched out his hand to me, I needed no fortune teller to tell me that he was very serious. And with a feeling of dejection, I put my hands into my handbag brought out the card as he had instructed and handed it over to him. He collected it and walked away without looking back.
