I ran out of the mansion heading to no particular destination and I could not see the objects ahead of me. I was wounded and in pain, my heart was filled with sorrow and I don’t care whatever that was around me.
All I wanted was to run far away from here, far off to a place where all my sorrows would be no more and far away from me. I will run to Rich or to Ray, those who know and care about how I feel deep inside.
I stumbled on an object and was going to fall but stopped almost close to the ground. I remained floating and I closed my eyes not caring what might have led to my floating. Later I opened my eyes and it was then that I came to realize that I had stumbled on Lara, and it was her grip that that was preventing me from falling.
“What is wrong with you, Scarlet, why are you this way and where are you running off to? What happened to you?”
She asked just too many questions that I don’t know which one to answer first should I decide to reply to her. Anyways, I was not in the mood for any questions right now and so I will not reply to any of her questions.
I freed myself from her and without saying anything, I continued in my race to the unknown.
Lara was fast enough to grab me again and this time, she drew me close to her. “What is wrong, Scarlet?” she yelled.
“Let go of me now, Lara. I want to go far away from here” I yelled back in response.
“No, I am not letting you go anywhere in this state. Do you even know how you look, why are there bloodstains all over you?” she asked.
“Oh no, you are bleeding all over” she cried.
“That should not bother you, Lara, just let go of me” I yelled again as I tried to pull myself away from her grip.
“No, I am taking you back to the mansion. I am letting you go nowhere like this” she insisted.
“No, not to the mansion. I don’t want to go back there anymore. You have to kill me before taking me anywhere near there” I begged.
“Okay, if you don’t want to go back to the mansion, then you don’t have a problem as I will not force you to. But please come with me, let me look for somewhere and attend to your injuries” she replied.
“I am fine like this, I will be okay the way I am” I replied.
LARA’S POV
I was surprised when I saw her running. She was hitting virtually everything in her way and I could tell that she was running with her eyes closed. She was running at the speed of lightning and appeared to be unstoppable.
I was very far away from her and I saw the ditch laying ahead of her. I realized that with the way she was going, she would fall in the ditch if she was not restrained. So I ran as fast as I could to get to her.
I was there right in time to stop her from landing in the ditch. I grabbed her by the waist and held on to her even as she struggled to free herself.
I was excited that I could save her, but I was at the same time scared because if she should succeed with pulling away, she was going to fall and it would be a fatal fall.
“No, I am taking you back to the mansion. I am letting you go nowhere like this” I told her.
“No, not to the mansion. I don’t want to go back there anymore. You have to kill me before taking me anywhere near there” she appealed.
It was when she realized that she could not pull herself away from my grip that she gave up and opened her eyes to look at me and that was when I was able to try to talk her into agreeing to follow me and let me attend to her.
“Okay, if you don’t want to go back to the mansion, then you don’t have a problem as I will not force you to. But please come with me, let me look for somewhere and attend to your injuries” I replied.
She had deep cuts, those that could only come from a shard. Who had done this to her? Whoever that had done this is no different from a beast, a very terrible one.
“I am fine like this, I will be okay the way I am” she replied.
“Don’t be stubborn with me, you know better than to. Now you have to come with me first, I promise not to take you to the mansion. I will find a perfect spot for us and by the time I am done with you, I will not stop you from going wherever you want to” I promised.
She did not say another word but reluctantly followed me.

“So what do you intend to do now?” I asked her.
“Nothing” she replied.
I knew she was lying. There was no way that she would want to do nothing and would be running like she was earlier. I know Scarlet and she must have some ideas in her that she is so desperate to implement.
“Please stop lying to me I beg you. I saw you running back then with so much enthusiasm and there is no way you would want me to believe that you were heading just nowhere. See, Scarlet, I know just how you feel but if I had not arrived when I did, you would be lying helpless or even lifeless in a ditch right now” I appealed.
I was done with attending to her wounds. I applied some herbs that I got from the bush to help ease her pain and right now, the pains have subsided to a great extent.
She has explained everything that happened with Carl and Hedrick to me and she has also told me about her marriage to the alpha of Black Moon Pack coming up in four days. But now she does not want to tell me what her plans were that had made her run in the manner she had done.
“I want to stop this, Lara” she finally confessed. “I cannot let it pull through. Not alpha Jake, not the Black Moon Pack” she sniveled.
“But then what can you do? I know you don’t intend to annoy Carl and Hedrick? Please I am not going to join you in this” I pleaded with her to stop whatever it was that she was planning to do as we both know that nothing was going to change her situation and getting on the bad side of Carl and Hedrick was not something that even the strongest would willingly get into.
“Take me to Rich, Lara, please take me to him” she appealed.
“Rich?” I asked.
After the incident of Gina leaving, Scarlet’s training session was terminated and since then, Rich has not stepped foot into the mansion as he has no excuse to.
“Yes, Rich. I know I have no business with him again but right now, I have to see him” she replied.
“What can Rich do in this situation?”
“I will ask him to come and take me away, he would come and get married to me” she replied.
“But then, Rich would do no such thing” I exclaimed.
“Then I would go to Ray. Promise me that you are not going to say no and that you will take me to meet him. Ray is an alpha, right? And he can stop this even now” she beseeched.
It was a pity and I felt so sorry for her. She was both desperate and confused and I wanted so much to do something for her right now but sadly, there was nothing anyone can do about her situation. It had been decreed by Carl and Hedrick and so it was destined to happen and there was nothing anyone can do about it.
“That would be useless, Scarlet, I am not taking you to any one of them” I replied.
“But why do you say that?” she asked in bewilderment.
“What can they do?” I cried.
“But you have to take me to them, right? I will go to Rich first and if the visit is unfruitful, then I will go to Ray. I know Ray will come to my aid as soon as he hears of this” she insisted.
“Okay, I will take you to them. But you have to let yourself heal first and then maybe tomorrow or next. You would go and see them” I said.
All I wanted was to stop her from going. It would be nothing but a fruitless venture and her brothers might be even more infuriated if they should find out about this.
“I am not waiting, Lara, I need to see Rich and Ray” she persisted.
“But Ray…” I tried to explain but she stopped me.
“Not again, Lara, we will not go over that again,” she said.
“You are not even listening…” I tries to explain but she stopped me a second time.
“It is an order, Lara. I order you right here and now to take me to Rich and then to Crystal Realms to see Ray. This is what I want and so it is a command to you” she ordered.
Now, I cannot go against her will. She had never had any need to order me before but I know that this time is different and I have to do as I was told.
I looked at her again to be sure that she was sure of what she was doing, but she turned her face away from me indicating that she was done with the issue. Having no other choice, I shifted to my wolf and she claimed on it, and then I ran off.
