RHODA’S POV
“Rhoda there would be a party tonight in James house. His younger sister would be turning 18 and would find her mate.”I would like us to go” Rose said pleading with her eyes as she knew I was about to reject.
Parties are not my thing and I don’t go to any. But since it’s a birthday party, there’s nothing wrong if I go.
I looked at Rose who was still giving me her puppy pout. “Fine I’ll go” I surrendered and she grinned.
“Yaaaay!!!!” I can’t wait to watch someone find her mate. I haven’t seen mate collision before and I’m so happy I’ll get to see one tonight” she giggled childishly making me roll my eyes.
“Common Rose there’s nothing special about that. Stop making it feel like it’s something different from what you felt during yours” I rolled my eyes and she grinned.
“Trust me Rhoda, it is something special when you turn 18, you would experience one of the amazing moment of your life with Luca” she grinned trickling me.
“Arrrghhh you naughty girl” I exclaimed when I understood what she meant by experiencing an amazing moment in my life. Rose wouldn’t stop being dramatic.
I covered my eyes and ran out the class when I couldn’t endure her naughty look. Jeez Rose what has gotten into you.
It has been two weeks since after we got back from the camp and school has been quiet and amazing.
Jayden had stopped tormenting me. In fact, he had been ignoring me and I am so happy he finally decided to let me be.
I rarely see him in school these days and when I do, he walks away as though I didn’t exist.
Not like I care anyway. I have the most caring and loving boyfriend.

Dressed in a flare red gown, silver low heeled shoe and my little silver purse, I climbed down the stairs, headed to the kitchen where my mother was preparing dinner with Mary as usual.
I kissed her cheeks and she smiled patting my head. “You look very beautiful pumpkin” she arranged my earrings. “Thank you mummy” I smiled chewing the meat she placed in my hands.
“Little rat where are you going dressed this beautiful” Mudy echoed from the dinning entering into the kitchen and snatched the meat from my hand.
“Mudy!!” I shrieked and lunged at him to retrieve my meat but he had already threw it into his mouth grinning.
“Get away from my side” I groaned and waved at my mother going out of the kitchen.
“You better be careful out there and return on time” he yelled after me and I smiled. Mudy might be a pain in my neck but he love and care for me equally. He just happens to get on my nerves alot.
I flagged down a cab and gave the driver James home address. He glanced at it and nodded, I opened the back door and sat down retrieving my phone to dial Rose’s number.
She picked after the second ring. “Where are you Rhoda” she queried noises coming out of where she was. Guess she was already at the party.
“I’m on my way, will soon be there better stay outside and wait for me” I dropped the call and heaved a sigh.
I don’t like parties but I have no choice than to attend to this one. James became friends with us after the camp and it has been fun having him as a friend. And turning down his invitation to his sister’s birthday isn’t right.
We soon arrived at the house, I got down and paid the cab man, straightened my dress and walked into the house.
Music was blaring loudly. Lots of boys and girls loitered around the compound with drinks in their hands.
This doesn’t look like a birthday party but some frat party.
I pushed through the crowd finally getting a glance of the door where I saw Rose standing and looking at her phone.
“Rose” I raised my voice, shouting and waving so she could see me. She finally raised her head when someone by her side pointed to my direction. She walked towards me and together, we went into the house.
“This doesn’t look like a teenage birthday party Rose” I said raising my voice above the blaring music so she could hear me.
“Wait, are you perhaps expecting to see cakes and birthday songs? come on Rhoda the celebrant is a big girl, You don’t expect to see those things here” she rolled her eyes and I shrugged.
“Don’t worry, you will enjoy the party alright?” She said and dragged me to where they were sitting.
I sat beside Luca who smiled and held me closer to him. “You came?” I gazed at him, “Yeah I did so relax” he said and I nodded relaxing in his hands.
Luca poured out wine for me. I don’t take alcohol” I reject the wine. “Common Rhoda free your self and enjoy the moment, It’s just for tonight and there are no soft drinks here” she pleaded.
I sighed and collected the cocktail. I sipped a little portion from it and sighed. It’s not that bad atleast it has a sweet and burning sensation mixed together.
Music blare from the speakers, sweaty bodies grinding against each other in the name of dance.
“Let’s play a game guys” Charlotte, James sister yelled dropping the bucket of wine and glass cup at our table.
By then, her friends had joined our table and what?!!! The J3 and Lisa also joined. When did all this people joined us?” I whispered to Rose”
when you were busy looking at the dancing guests” she muttered.
“I didn’t know Jayden and his friends are also invited” I whispered back to her. “I told you the celebrant is a big girl and very popular she probably invited them” Rose replied sipping her wine.
I groaned and looked up, my eyes locked with Jayden’s. He raised his brows disdainfully and I quickly took my gaze away.
Luca held my hands squeezing it lightly. I smiled at him and gulped down my drink.
“What game are we playing Charlotte? Jordan asked winking at her.
“Truth or Dare of course” Lisa mused making me roll my eyes.
“I’m not playing that shit” I rolled my eye.
“What! You are afraid of it?” She sneered.
“Just play it please remember we don’t want to cause any ruckus here” Rose whispered to my ear gently tugging my hands.
“Ok fine I will” I groaned frustrated. I should have been on my bed right now sleeping instead of coming to this party filled with b*tches.
