“What do I want to eat?” Ying Xiaoxiao thought about it carefully before her eyes lit up. “Let’s go get morning tea.”
“Morning tea?”
Corey looked at his wristwatch and asked, “It’s already 9 a. m. and we are going to be late. Do you think we have time to sip on morning tea?”
“All right.” She pursed her lips. “Let’s just get an omelet on the way to the company.”
Corey raised his brows. “That’s a good idea.”
Hence, they bought two omelets at a roadside shop before they rushed to the company.
When they walked into the company together, gossip spread within.
No one would believe that it was a coincidence that CEO Lu arrived at the firm at the same time as Secretary Ying.
The gossip spread fast, and every department in the company soon knew about it.
“Do you know that our CEO came to work with Secretary Ying today?”
“Really?”
“Of course, everyone at the front desk saw them. They both held breakfast; the same breakfast.”
“Could it be that they met each other at the front door, and hence arrived together?”
“Are you stupid? Then why would they have the same breakfast?”
“Do you mean that they are dating?”
“Of course! since they came to the company together, it means that they were together last night. They must be dating then.”
Rosiley walked out of the break room. She heard a few colleagues discussing something, so she approached them to hear what they were saying.
At this point in time, Rosiley could not keep herself from speaking up. “Perhaps they had just planned to come to the company together.”
Hearing that, her colleagues turned around. And when they saw her, they straightened their bodies and smiled embarrassingly.
Rosiley glanced over them and smiled. “Remember, we’re in the media industry. We should be aware of such assumptions and not assume things just when we see them. That’s definitely something we should avoid.”
“Yes, Deputy Manager Tang,” they answered in unison before returning to their seats.
Rosiley frowned. Even though that was what she said to her subordinates, she felt curious about why Corey and Xiaoxiao came to the company together.
However, the male and female lead of the gossip didn’t know how much commotion they had caused in the company.
They were having an argument.
“Corey, regardless, you have to see my father with me.”
Ying Xiaoxiao’s eyes widened as she glared at the man in front of her.
“What if I don’t?” Corey raised up one of his brows, with amusement written in his eyes.
“You wouldn’t dare!” Ying Xiaoxiao squinted her eyes, giving off a dangerous aura. “We signed a contract! You have to listen to me.”
“Did the contract say that I must listen to you?” Corey frowned as he wondered if he had missed that clause in the contract.
“No.” Ying Xiaoxiao pursed her lips. She regretted not writing it in, because if she had, they wouldn’t be arguing now.
Corey chuckled. “since that’s the case, why must I listen to you?”
“Because you are my boyfriend!”
In her frustration, Ying Xiaoxiao roared out, sending the office into dead silence.
The two stared at each other.
After a long while, Corey opened his mouth to speak. “A pretend boyfriend.”
