Kira’s face lit up as she felt soft kisses on her cheeks. She blushed, her eyes still closed knowing that it was Bryan and Aiden who were using kisses to wake her up.
“Good morning,” she murmured, her eyes finally fluttering open and her voice still raspy with sleep.
“Morning baby. You have got training this morning, so no more snoozing,” Aiden whispered, his hand gently brushing her hair.
“You can’t learn how to fight while lying in bed, and you personally told us to wake you up on time,” Bryan added, watching her stir more awake.
“Alright, alright. I’m getting up,” she said, stretching her arms over her head, yawning softly.
“But you both were the ones who kept me up all night, can’t even have mercy on me.” Kira said to them with a teasing smile as she got up, headed to the bathroom first to brush and wash her face.
Bryan and Aiden watched her quietly, admiring her as she came out and moved to the wardrobe. Kira could feel their gazes on her as she picked out her training clothes.
“Good thing I got this ready already,” Kira said to herself as she pulled out her all-black training outfit. It was perfect for her training today. It was a tight, long-sleeved black top that clung to her body, paired with fitted black pants.
“How’s this?” She asked them as she slipped on her black combat boots. “I like it, it’s comfortable and free.”
“Yeah it’s perfect,” Bryan and Aiden both complemented.
“You are definitely ready to kick some ass today,” Bryan teased and whistled softly, nodding with approval.
“Just don’t go too hard on your trainer,” Aiden added with a wink.
“I don’t think going easy on anyone is an option today,” Kira grinned, adjusting her boots.
“True, but maybe try not to punch anyone too hard, and I wouldn’t mind your falling display like last time, wobble legs,” Bryan teased, chuckling softly as Kira shot him a glare.
“Save some energy for us,” Aiden added, also chuckling. Bryan had filled him in on Kira’s little display after her first training.
“Well…” Kira started, standing by the door as she gave them a playful salute. “I will ignore you both laughing at me but don’t worry, I’ll come back in one piece,” she said, winking at both of them before leaving.
Kira reached the training grounds in less than ten minutes. As she got closer, she spotted Ryker already waiting for her. “Good morning,” she called out with a smile.
“Good morning, Luna,” he said, addressing her with respect. “Are you ready for today?”
“I am,” Kira replied, feeling very determined. She was not going to take this chance for granted.
By the time the training session ended, Kira was sweating badly, but she did better than last time. She had successfully learned the technique and even learned new ones. Ryker had also complimented her, saying she was a fast learner, especially when she puts her mind to it.
And knowing how stubborn she is, she would not give up until she was successful. Today, she felt a sense of pride as she left the training ground.
Making her way back to the house, she could already smell the delicious aroma of breakfast that wafted through the air, her stomach growling in response. She was tired, but a cold shower will set her mind straight at least.
Kira quickly ascended the stairs, straight to her room, her boots tapping softly against the steps. Once inside, she removed her sweaty clothes and hopped into the shower.
“This feels so good,” She moaned out softly, enjoying the feel of the cold water against her tired muscles.
After she was done, she wrapped herself in a towel and picked out something more casual, comfortable pants and a soft shirt. Then, she brushed her damp hair back, feeling very refreshed and ready for the rest of the morning and day.
When she finally descended the stairs, the sound of light chatter greeted her, and she greeted it back.
“Good morning, everyone.” She greeted, quickly taking her seat. “So hungry, everything looks delicious.”
There were eggs, toast, fruits, and all things that made her mouth water.
“How was your training today?” Orion asked her once she had gotten some food into her empty stomach.
Kira drank some water, before she answered. “It was great, better than last time, and Ryker is an excellent teacher, very patient with me.”
“That is good to hear,” Orion nodded with a smile, “Keep it up.”
“Thanks Father.” Kira responded with a smile before she went back to eating.
Later in the evening, Bryan and Aiden had informed Kira of their outing with Ryker, and so she was now the one in charge.
“So…where are you three headed off to?” She asked Bryan and Aiden, curiously, as they got dressed.
“Just a local pub,” Bryan replied with a smile, adjusting his jacket casually. “Nothing too fancy, we will grab a drink and talk about things.”
“That sounds fun. You boys enjoy yourself,” Kira said and smiled back.
“And you, my love, will be in charge while we are out,” Aiden told her, approaching her. “You think you can handle it?”
“I have got it covered,” she reassured them. “The earlier, the better.”
“Thanks love,” Bryan and Aiden both said, giving her forehead kisses before they left.
Bryan, Aiden and Ryker stepped into the pub, the familiar place greeting them in a warm welcome. They made their way to a corner booth across the room, it was more like their spot in the place.
“How’s Jeremy holding up?” Ryker asked, taking a sip of his drink.
“He’s strong,” Bryan shrugged, “We only visited him briefly during the day. He will get through it.”
“That’s good to hear,” Ryker nodded, “But enough with work talk. Tell me, how’s it going with your mate?” He asked, teasing them a bit.
“I think you know how it’s going, seeing how happy we all are,” Aiden answered with a smile, “She is just perfect.”
“Nice,” Ryker chuckled as they clinked their glasses, celebrating Bryan and Aiden’s happiness. Truth be told, it had been a long time since he had seen them this happy.
“What about you? Any mate? Ladies? We have not seen you with anyone in a long, long while,” Bryan brought up.
“Still searching, hopefully one day,” Ryker told them.
“We are eager to be Godfathers, so hurry,” Aiden said, getting back at Ryker for teasing them earlier.
“I should be the one telling you both that, since you have already…” Ryker paused and cleared his throat. “I’m sure you guys know what I mean.” And then he started laughing. Bryan and Aiden just shook their heads, also laughing.
Just as they were getting comfortable, the door creaked open, and a group of five men walked in. Their presence immediately shifted the energy in the room. Bryan’s eyes narrowed, and Ryker sat up straighter.
“Vampires.” Aiden muttered under his breath, his fingers curling around his glass, knuckles turning white.
Now, the five men, all dressed in dark attire, scanned the room and decided to approach Bryan, Aiden and Ryker where they were seated.
One of the vampires even moved closer to them and hissed, “You are in the wrong place.”
