She walked into the living room and was surprised to find someone lying on the sofa.
It was Corey.
The instant she saw him, her entire heart calmed down.
“So he slept in the living room last night? Isn’t there a guest room here?”
Ying Xiaoxiao walked over, puzzled. She squatted down by his side, staring at his sleeping face. A faint smile started to hover in her twinkling eyes.
It was hard to imagine such a high-spirited man looking so childish when asleep.
There was a trace of affection in her eyes. She saw his eyebrows draw together slightly, as if he was experiencing something unhappy in his dreams.
Motivated by some unknown impulse, she raised her hand, her slightly cold fingertips waving above his eyebrows. She gently smoothed the crease between his brows.
Although she did this very gently, Corey, who had always been a light sleeper, was still awakened.
His eyes sprung open and before Ying Xiaoxiao could slink away, her eyes met his somewhat confused black eyes.
She laughed, hastily and drily, and stood up. She pretended to have just been passing by casually. “I saw you asleep and there was a mosquito on your face. I was trying to chase it away.”
“Mosquito?” Corey’s dazed eyes gradually focused. He laughed softly. “How could there be mosquitoes on such a high floor?”
She was obviously lying.
Ying Xiaoxiao laughed drily. “Maybe that mosquito lost its way.”
“Dammit, this answer is so laughable. A mosquito losing its way?” Corey smiled and changed the subject. “Do you still remember what happened last night?”
“Just a little.” She was telling the truth. She indeed only remembered them drinking together.
As he watched her somewhat dazed and bewildered eyes, Corey raised his eyebrows. He asked probingly, “So do you remember that after getting drunk you acted crazy and forced a kiss on me?”
“Forced a kiss on you?” Ying Xiaoxiao gasped in shock, staring at him in disbelief. “Impossible. I would never do such a shameless thing.”
“Never?” Corey raised his slender brows, Then he moved closer to her, opening his mouth slightly.
There was a small wound on his lip.
“Did I do that?” Ying Xiaoxiao asked cautiously.
Corey smiled. “A little wild cat bit me.”
“Who are you calling a little wild cat?” Ying Xiaoxiao found herself totally unable to accept this sudden moniker.
“So you admit you were the one who bit me?” Corey looked at her with a faint smile. His profound, black eyes seemed able to penetrate her heart, so deep that one could not see their bottom. He made her flustered.
Ying Xiaoxiao was unable to retort.
She had been so roaringly drunk that she could not remember which woman had bit him on the lip.
Corey did not make things difficult for her. “Forget it, forget it if you can’t remember.”
When she heard his words, Ying Xiaoxiao heaved a long sigh of relief. She felt like she had been relieved of a heavy burden.
She had been really afraid that he would continue talking about this. Then she would not have been able to take his jibes.
“Are you hungry?” Corey asked softly.
She had not felt hungry at first, but her stomach started growling the moment he asked her this.
She smiled sheepishly. “My tummy tells me it’s hungry.”
“Then go and make breakfast,” Corey commanded.
“Huh?” Ying Xiaoxiao was dumbfounded.
