Bryan groaned when another knock came in after close to an hour of Kira leaving.
“Can’t I just work without any disturbance?”, he asked himself.
This time, a knock didn’t come, instead the person opened the door and walked in.
Bryan closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down and not get frustrated, before opening them and meeting with Aiden and Kira.
He didn’t think they were here for him, so he went back to work.
“Bryan, can we talk? You know, forget I asked. We need to talk”, Aiden, more like ordered him. “Let’s talk.”
“About what?”, Bryan asked him.
“You!” was Aiden’s response.
“What about me, Brother?”
“Can you put a hold on your work first?”, Aiden asked him, also getting frustrated with his behavior. “I also have lots of work to get done, but you seem to want to drown yourself in yours.”
Bryan let out a frustrated breath, showed Aiden the pen in his hand, and let it go, letting the pen drop on his table. “You have my full attention.”
Bryan relaxed in his seat, his hands folded, waiting to hear what Aiden had to say.
“What exactly is going on with you?”, Aiden asked him. “And don’t start with that nothing bullshit or excuses, I know you very well to know that something is wrong. At least tell us what it is.”
Bryan started laughing and rubbed his face. “Is that the reason you are here?”
“It’s not funny, Bryan. Everyone has been noticing some changes.”
“Like I told Kira earlier, I am fine, so drop it”, Bryan uttered, ending the conversation right there.
“Are you trying to mess things up for us?”, Aiden suddenly asked. “What the hell is your problem?” His voice raised slightly.
“Aiden”, Kira called out to him softly, not wanting them to have a fight.
“No, Kira. You have given us another chance, and he is going to ruin it with this behavior of his,” Aiden told her.
Bryan, on the other hand, watched the little affection between them, and it was not really helping how he was feeling.
So he got up and started arranging his files, putting them in his bag, which got Aiden’s and Kira’s attention.
“Where are you going now? We are not done talking,” Aiden told him.
“Well, it’s also your office, so I can’t tell you to leave now, can I?”, Bryan said and started walking to the door.
This time around, Aiden decided not to back down, he was going to get an answer from Bryan, even if it led to a fight. He may not want to admit it, but he missed his brother and hated how distant Bryan was being, even from him.
It was normal for Bryan to get upset and maybe be distant from everyone, but not from him, and he would not even tell him anything.
So he followed Bryan out of the office, Kira following them too. “Tell me what the problem is. What is bothering you so much??”
Bryan just ignored him. He could feel himself losing control, and that was the last thing he wanted. He felt like if he opened his mouth, he might say something he would regret later.
Aiden’s voice grew sharper with each step he took. “Bryan, talk to me! Why are you behaving like this?”, he demanded, but Bryan again ignored him, not even glancing his way.
The silence was too much, and Aiden could feel his patience slipping. In a blur of motion, he reached out and shoved Bryan.
“Stop ignoring me!” he growled, his fists clenched.
The moment Aiden’s hand touched Bryan, something inside his twin snapped.
Bryan turned around, his eyes getting very dark. “You think I’m ignoring you?” he hissed, the rage in his tone evident.
Unexpectedly, he lunged at Aiden, his body slamming hard into him. “YOU THINK I’M IGNORING YOU???”, Bryan growled out as they collided hard, crashing into the nearby wall.
“What is going on? BRYAN and AIDEN TYRELL, stop it right now!” Their father, who had heard the growling and sounds, rushed out, calling both of them to order, but they turned deaf ears to him.
Suddenly, fists flew as they growled at each other, both barely holding back their full strength as they slammed each other to the floor.
Kira, who was watching them, was frozen in shock as they fought. Their growls echoing in the hallway, and with every punch and slam into the walls, the house seemed to shake.
Finally, she could not take it anymore. She needed both of them to stop.
“STOP IT!”, she shouted, her voice echoing through the corridor. “Please”, she pleaded. “This is not like either of you. You are Alphas, twin brothers too. Please just stop.”
This was precisely what she was avoiding. Her chest heaved as she watched both Bryan and Aiden freeze mid-fight.
Without wasting much time, she moved towards Aiden first, her hand trembling slightly as she placed it on his chest. “Please, Aiden, calm down,” she whispered, rubbing slow and gentle circles on his chest.
Aiden’s breath was ragged, but her touch seemed to calm him down.
As she calmed Aiden down, Bryan’s expression shifted. He watched Kira comfort Aiden as his fists unclenched, a glimpse of hurt flashing through his eyes.
After some seconds, he averted his gaze, his eyes turning cold and holding no emotions.
“I’m sorry,” he said in his mind. He was indeed feeling like an outsider, but he didn’t mean for it to go this far, he just could not control himself.
Without a word, he bent down, grabbed the bag he had been holding, and turned away from them both.
“Bryan?” Kira suddenly turned and called out to him, noticing he was leaving. But he didn’t stop as he walked down the hall, going downstairs and not looking back.
Aiden, who watched his twin walk away, finally pieced together what was going on with Bryan and the source of his outburst.
It was now the realization hit him hard, and guilt crept in.
“Bryan…” Aiden called out softly, but it was too late.
