I open the car door, and fix myself in the backseat. My lips drag from chin to chin as the driver starts the car and enters the road.
A few more hours into our journey, “Are you that excited?” Alpha Arthur takes a glance at me.
“Hmm!” my head nods and he whiffs in a smile, shaking his head. “I’m glad that you are happy. So what way are we heading?” he questions me.
“My father’s pack.”
“I know we are heading to your father’s pack. Which direction? What is the name of your father’s pack?”
“Oh! I thought you knew about all this before hitting the road.”
“Asking you right now, it’s very obvious that I don’t know where we are heading,” he huffs in a little frustration, and his face etch with a slight frown.
Is he mad right now or what? What did I do wrong? Why does he easily get irritated like he’s on a menstrual cycle? Thank Goddess he’s a man. If he were to be a lady then his mood swings would have been so intense.
I clear my throat inwardly as I gaze right at him, “We are heading to the Blue Moon Pack. That’s my father’s pa….”
“What? The Blue Moon Pack?” he spins sideways instantly. His eyes wide open in shock as he takes a look at me, “Why are you just saying it to me, right now?” His voice comes out harshly at me.
“I don’t understand. Why are you so mad at me? You never bothered to ask about anything before dragging me from your mansion, and putting us on the road. How is it any of my fault?” I lashed back at him.
He pulls his hair in frustration and lets out a low groan. “Philip, pull the car to any nearby hotel,” he ordered.
“Hotel? W-w-wait. What? Why are we going to a hotel? I thought…”
“Thought what? Do you fucking know the distance between my pack and your father’s pack? If we are to go by road, it will take us days. Why didn’t you fucking mention it earlier to me? You are really frustrating my head,” he roars at me, and I flinch in shock.
Tears begin to drop down my cheeks. If there was something I hated so much, it was someone raising his/ her voice at me. My parents don’t even do that. Why was he even shouting at me?
“Why are you crying? Gosh!” He pulls his head backward, heads up, as he lets out a deep breath.
“I’ve never been to your pack, and I have no idea that it will be far away. So why blame me for it? It’s not my fault,” I weep bitterly.
“Alright, fine. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to shout at you but… anyway, it’s fine. We will just spend the day in the hotel, so we can book a flight and leave tomorrow,” he softly utters.
Sniffing my running nose, “Why a hotel? Are we using separate rooms?”
“Is that important right now?”
Nodding my head, “Yes, it is. I don’t want to end up having sex with you.”
“There she goes again. Who wants to even have sex with you? Enough of the crying like a baby, my head bangs,” he points at the windshield, directing his driver to take a route.
I brush the tears off my cheeks, and rest my head on the headrest of the seat. My eyes were also fixed on the windshield.
The car drives into a path and arrives in front of a huge luxurious hotel. Alpha Arthur steps out of the car and turns around, opening the door for me. I step out also.
“Nova, we are still in my pack and it’s not safe for you. I wish we could return to that secret mansion, but it will be stressful for us. To stay safe, just follow whatever I do and keep mute.”
He pulls out the long wool scarf wrapping around his neck, and covers my hair and some part of my face. “This should do,” he tugs my hand and leads us into the hotel.
Everyone bows their heads in respect as Alpha Arthur approaches the receptionist. “Is my room available?” he asked.
“Yes, Alpha,” I heard the soft voice of the receptionist.
I couldn’t raise my head to take a glance at my environment because Alpha Arthur had already made it known to me that it wasn’t safe here for me. But why was he asking for a room and not rooms? How did he know that we would be stopping here, that he asked for his room to be made ready?
Did he plan something before now?
Still in my thoughts when Alpha Arthur pulled me behind him, leading us in a direction. I just followed behind him.
We get to a room and he shoves me in. Closing the door, “We will spend our day and night here. Philip will take care of booking the flight. First thing in the morning, we leave. Food will be made available soon. As for what to wear, you can pick a night robe from the wardrobe,” he takes a seat on the couch.
Without looking at my face, he picks up a tablet on the table and gets busy.
Was this the way he treated Elara? What was it with him and being so serious? What happened that he’s giving me all these attitudes?
I hiss as I sit on the bed, taking off his scarf and throwing it to the side of the bed.
A knock comes on the door, and Alpha Arthur signals me to rush into the bathroom and I do. I understand he does want his pack members to see me because it will be dangerous. So I didn’t try to argue with him,
After a few more minutes, he calls out to me to come out.
I return to the room and there it is, a nice meal presented on the table. The aroma seems great.
“You can sit down and eat,” Alpha Arthur picks up a plate of pancakes, drops it by his sides, and focuses his attention back on the tablet.
Without hesitation, I dive right into the different foods on the table. Eating them like a starved animal.
“Were you that hungry?” Alpha Arthur asks, and I nod my head to a yes, still consuming the food.
I reach for a bottle of water, gulping the water down my throat. My head pushes upward as I let out a loud belch. I heard Alpha Arthur chuckle and I wondered what was funny.
Wiping my mouth with a napkin, I sprint up from my position to go use the restroom. My stomach was so filled up with water and I instantly felt like urinating. I pee and make my way back into the room.
The plates were already taken away from the room. That was fast.
“Phillip has made the booking for the flight. You can have your rest. We are leaving as early as possible,” Alpha Arthur stands up from his position and heads toward the balcony to make a call.
What does he want me to be doing right now with myself? There isn’t a phone or anyone I can communicate with. This is so boring. I sigh, and amble toward him, “Alpha Arthur what…?”
“Ssshhh!” his index finger fixed on his lips, indicating that I keep mute.
“Blade, I told you not to make a fuss out of this. Return to your pack if you are that fucking mad, or you trace Nova to her father’s pack. Don’t bother my life,” Alpha Arthur ends the call and throws his phone on the little couch on the balcony.
“That was Alpha Blade, right? What did he say?” I ask.
“Nothing important. He is mad that I took you. That crazy dick head,” Alpha Arthur makes his way back to the room.
“But he has every right to be mad because Elara is his fated mate and Luna. He has the right over her,” I follow behind him.
“Elara also has my mark on her body. She has never wanted him and still doesn’t want him,” his hands fixed in his pockets.
“Now that this is a topic, I wanted to ask. Why did you mark Elara when you know she is not yours and you are married to her sister?” My feet stop in-between.
“Why do you care?” he strolls closer to me, “Your only concern should be returning to your father’s pack. Maybe Elara will finally return to her body,” he responds to me.
He knows something. Alpha Arthur actually knows something that was why he decided to send me back to my father’s pack out of the blues. Maybe he overheard my conversation with Malicia. He’s an Alpha and has the ability to hear conversations or sounds from far away.
I think he used that on us.
This can only explain why he changed his mind.
“Thinking about it, Nova,” Alpha Arthur steps forward in me. “You sure know how to protect Alpha Blade from me. You are always defending him. Do you like him?” He raised his brow.
I cleared my throat inwardly and gazed right at Alpha Arthur, “He’s Elara’s husband. Don’t I have the right to like him?” The words come out of my mouth and I clutch my hand into a fist.
Why did I even say that when I know I don’t like Alpha Blade?
I gulp hard and stare right at Alpha Arthur, “If I also want to ask, do you love Elara? You are acting like someone who doesn’t care about her,” I try to change the direction of the decision.
Alpha Arthur lifts up my chin, his eyes looking over my face. “If I tell you that I love Elara, will you allow me to make love to you right now?” He softly asks, and my jaw tightens in fear.
