Elara;
“I hate Alpha Arthur with everything within me. He killed my baby, Malicia. Alpha Arthur killed my child. All this while, he pretended to be unaware of my pregnancy, but went ahead to poison me. How do I get entangled with these evil Alphas? Why me?” My body shakes profusely as I weep bitterly in the arms of my best friend.
The only person who can ever console me in my worst times is Malicia. Malicia never fails to make me feel comforted, whenever I want to get that feeling, and come out of my misery. She is what I call home.
Malicia brushes her palm through my hair, “Elara, you have to put yourself together. Alpha Arthur can be anything but not this. I doubt he would be so nice to you, only to kill your unborn child. A pregnancy he knows nothing about.”
“What if he had already found out, and acted like he didn’t? He is an Alpha, and he can get whatever information he wants.”
“Elara, Alpha Arthur is quite a temper to act cool about your pregnancy. He would have sent you away from his life. If he was aware of the pregnancy, then he should also be aware of who the father of the pup is.” Malicia softly breathes, “I think you are overthinking a lot of things, and I’m not in support of the fact you ran away from the hospital…
What if something had happened to you, Elara? I believe you know Alpha Arthur will be searching for you right now, and he will definitely find you here.”
I sit upright on the bed. My gaze fixed on Malicia’s face, “Then I will have to run away from the pack. I will go somewhere very far where none of them can ever find me. I would rather be a Rogue, than be in Alpha Arthur’s pack.”
The first time I wanted to run away from Alpha Arthur was because of fear. I committed a sin that I thought he would penalize me for. Anyways, he sure did. It’s because of that one stupid mistake that my life is a total mess.
I also had a fair share from Alpha Blade, Kalus, and the others.
But right now, I want to run away from Alpha Arthur because of my feelings. I think I’ve fallen in love with him, and if I don’t leave or stay away from Alpha Arthur, the feelings will be the end of me. If Alpha Arthur didn’t poison that tea, and killed my baby, then someone else did. But who was it?
Chloe might not go to such length to want to take me out of Alpha Arthur’s life. She would rather fight me with her nails, mouth and legs, than spike my drink. I know her too well. Besides, Chloe didn’t know about my pregnancy, so if it wasn’t her, then who did?
It can only be someone who wants me to stay away from Alpha Arthur. Maybe a female, but who is she? I can’t even get an answer. How do I face someone or something that is invincible? The best for me is to leave.
I have to stay far away from everyone. Maybe my troubles will finally come to an end.
My body sprints up from Malicia’s bed, brushing the tears off my cheeks. My hands crossed around my chest as I planted my feet right before Malicia. “What about my mother’s jewelry? Do you still have them? You know I will be needing funds.”
“Not you, but us. We will be needing funds to leave this pack,” she stands up from the bed. “Yeah, mother’s jewelry is over there. I kept them in tact.” Mailcia reaches for her locker and brings out the jewelry.
Her transparency was one of the reasons why I love her so much. She has the sweetest of heart. Malicia was the only blessing in my life, after my mother who passed away. That is why I alway pray she gets everything she has ever wished for in life.
She is an orphan, taking care of her twin younger siblings. The situation that happened to her parents made an adult at the age of 8. Now she is 21, and still carries the burden.
I could count the number of times she had ever bought something for herself, throughout the years. Just 4 times. Everything she earns, every penny she makes, goes to the welfare of her siblings.
She didn’t have access to education because of her siblings, and I mostly wished I was financially alright to help her. Gladly, her twin siblings are 18, and can now take care of themselves.
The reason Malicia wanted to leave with me the first time I wanted to run away, was because she wanted a new life. Different from whatever she has experienced here.
Whenever I stare at my beautiful, blonde wavy hair, 5 ‘5, green eyes best friend, I couldn’t help but be proud of her. I’ve never seen a Delta wolf so handworking like her, and I know one day, her stars will definitely shine.
“If you are leaving the pack, Elara, I’m joining you,” Malicia hands over the jewelry to me. They were in perfect condition.
“I don’t want you to join me, Malicia. I don’t even know how difficult life will be out there for me. You know my life is a mess,” my eyes study the jewelry, and I do some math in my head.
I know I will be needing outfits, and accommodation. That I know the sales I will make from the jewelry will do. But what about feeding? I’m a glutton, and there is a high possibility I will starve if I don’t find a job.
I’ve never worked in my life, and I pray I can survive outside my father’s roof. I know Malicia coming will help fix the aspect of a job. She was used to working and wouldn’t have a problem with it. But I don’t want it for her. This is the time for her to start living for herself, and I don’t want to spoil things.
I move closer to her, my palms resting on her shoulders, “You can’t come with me, Malicia. I know you love me so much, and I love you too, girl. But I want you to focus on your life. For the first time, you now have the freedom to do things for yourself. Embrace it, girl.
I want you to someday meet a good man, and have a relationship. There are a lot of good things to experience in life, and I don’t want to spoil any for you.”
She slightly raises her brows, and then whiffs in amusement. “I hope this sweet sermon of yours is not for me. If it is, then it’s a wrong sermon,” she pushes my hands away from her shoulders, “Stop using your emotional tricks with me. It has never worked on me, and you know it. Anyway, I have some savings. We will add it whatever the Jewelry will fetch, and start up a life. I know what you are scared of, but I will help us get a job.”
“Malicia! Honestly, you can’t tag along. Please.”
“Stupid you. It’s funny how you think I will listen to you.” She points her index finger right at my face, and I gulp down. I know what is coming for me; a warning. “Elara, don’t ever speak to me about having a man. You know how I hate that species. They are viruses. Look at how they are frustrating your life.”
Counting her fingers at my face, Malicia continues, “Let us start with your father. That old man of yours is a dick. He doesn’t care about you. A man who allowed an evil woman to control his life, and hurt his daughter. What do we call him? A wimp.”
I shook my head, “Mmm-hmm!… you are right.”
She continues, “Secondly, we have Gideon. A man who doesn’t know how to keep his manhood in his pants. He lacks discipline, and doesn’t know what he wants. A disgusting cheat, and a liar. He is nothing but a dog.”
“Yeah! That’s a fact.”
Malicia was saying things as they should be.
With her three fingers holding out, “Speaking of the third man in your life, Alpha Arthur. He is a crazy, obsessed, arrogant bastard. So possesses, and thinks he owns you. I don’t like him at all, even though I’ve never set my eyes on him. His men had the audacity to push me down, and I almost broke my waist. What should I even call him?”
My ears were wide open to hear what Malicia would call Alpha Arthur, but the door that opened cut her off.
“Sister! There is trouble outside!?” Malicia’s sibling ran into the house. His feet halt right in front of us. His palms hold his knees as he keeps panting hard.
“What’s going on, Sam?” I arc my head, trying to get a better view of his face.
“The pack members, Elara. The pack members,” his gasping couldn’t allow him to speak properly. He points in the direction of the door.
Malicia and I darted outside to see what was going on.
Our feet come to a fast stop, almost stumbling as our eyes meet with the angry faces of the multitude of people outside our house. They were all in black outfits. Their stares seemed like ones that were here to bring down the house or drag us to our deaths.
You only see this multitude in this attire when a crime has been committed by someone. They are always ready to kill, or stone the person to death.
So why are they here? What crime did we commit?
