Chapter 35

Book:Alpha Arthur, She is mine Published:2024-10-27

Alpha Blade;
Standing on the rooftop of my penthouse, my hands in my pockets as I stare at my Beta, Bronson. The almighty Beta of mine has finally decided to return home. But guess what? He has also chosen to fucking piss me off. Just when I thought his coming back would be something I would love, Bronson decided to prove me wrong.
“If I had failed to point out that going to Nightshade Pack would be a bad idea. You would have led the warriors into invading another Alpha’s pack. Who is this she-wolf that you so desire?” Bronson’s arms wrap around his chest as he gazes right into my face.
Nahhh!.. There he goes again.
“I don’t desire her, Bronson. I don’t.”
“Then what do you want with her?”
“Nothing serious.”
“What do you mean by “nothing serious? You actually wanted to send your warriors into a slaughterhouse for her sake. If she is a nobody, why try to go to such an extent, just to bring her back to the pack? Make it make sense to me, Alpha,” Bronson says a lot of truth that I hate to hear.
I push my head backward and heavy a sigh, “Don’t you think you are killing me with stress right now, Bronson? This is not why I asked you to return to the pack.”
“If there is someone who was meant to complain about stress, that should be me. I traveled for hours, back to the pack. Hoping there was something crazy going on. Only for my Alpha to request I look after the pack because of a she-wolf,” he lashes out at me.
Aside from the fact Bronson is my Beta, he is also my best friend. However, he hates his duty as a Beta. He was appointed to take over from his father as my Beta because the pack needed someone young. I still recall how the news sounded so frustrating to him.
He basically didn’t speak to anyone for days.
Bronson is someone who prefers to travel around the world, and fuck different pussys, rather than being on a battlefield. On different occasions, he had tried to run away from the position, but the responsibility still fell on him.
I know asking him to return was crazy for him, but I needed someone who I could hand over the pack, when I leave. It was a crazy idea for him, but he didn’t have a choice.
Turning my body to face the beautiful view of the city, my hands still fixed in my pockets, “The she-wolf in question is my fated mate.”
“Oh! You’ve finally found her after all these years. That’s a nice one. So why do you want to go into a hunting game because of her?” He moves closer to me.
“She was kidnapped by Kalus.”
“Pffft!… that dickhead.”
“Yeah! The dickhead. He sold her to Alpha Arthur.”
“Wait a minute! What? How? When did Alpha Arthur start the business of buying and selling she-wolves? What does he want with your mate?… Sorry, I know I’m asking too many questions right now, but you sure know I’m lost in the dark about this whole thing,” Bronson chuckles hard into his fist.
“Is this funny to you?”
“Hmmm! A bit. I’m just wondering how your destiny is so connected with that of Alpha Arthur, that you two always get into each other’s throats. One can’t do without the other. When does it end?”
I pivot in the direction of Bronson, my head slightly arcing to the side, “The problem has never been me but that idiot. Why will an Alpha buy the Luna of another Alpha, if he is not a lunatic?”
Bronson’s forehead furrows at my words, his eyes dart back and forth in confusion. “What do you mean by “Luna? When did you make a she-wolf your Luna? Does the Council of Elders know about this?”
Shaking my head, “No, they don’t. They are not important.”
“What about your evil concubine, Jasmine? Is she aware that you now have a Luna?”
“I dare not mention it to her. Jasmine will kill my fated mate.”
Bronson nods his head, his lips tuck into his mouth. He turns around to amble away, I grasp onto his arm, “Where are you heading to, in the middle of a conversation?”
He whiffs in amusement, his finger runs back and forth between us, “You see this madness, I’m not a part of it. You know Jasmine and the council of elders don’t want you to have a Luna, so why go ahead with one? You can’t have both our heads cut off,” he frees my fingers on his arms, and walks toward the exit.
“I’m in love with her!” I blurt out the words, my eyes lower, facing the ground.
I think that will be the only thing that will make him see reasons with me. He knows the only lady I’ve ever fallen in love with, is Leona, but she doesn’t want me. She chooses to be around Alpha Arthur.
Bronson doesn’t like Leona in my life. He always speaks about the fact she is evil; that’s his belief. He feels she will destroy me, and take everything away from me. So the best person to be with her is Alpha Arthur.
I know Bronson has been praying for me to fall in love with some other she-wolf someday. However, I’m yet to know how he will feel about this.
My words make him stop dead in his tracks, “Is she pretty?” he asked, turning around to face me, a grin spread across his face.
“Yes, she is.”
In a flash, he speeds toward me, jumping on my body with his arms wrap around me, “Oh! Man! I’m very proud of you. This is the best news ever,” he hugs me tightly.
Disgust displayed on my face, as I turned the other way. Pushing him off me, “Thank you, but can you fucking get away from my body,” struggling to break free from him.
“Oh, sorry!” He lets go of me, “I also don’t do men.” Bronson slaps an invisible dust off my body, “So when do you want us to go bring her back?” Asking me the best question I want to hear.
“Soon. Right now,” I make to take my leave when he pulls me back, stopping me from leaving.
“We are bringing her back in a very peaceful way. I don’t want war with any pack. You know how connected I am, and Beta Loki is my friend. Let’s not work with emotion and mess things up,” he schools me and I nod my head in agreement.
With his arm crossed through my shoulders, we both walked away from the rooftop.
******
“Tell me, Bronson. Which of the sexy she-wolves on the dance floor would you like to take home with you,” my elbows rested on the bar stand of the bar in the club. Bronson sat next to me.
“I don’t think any is beautiful enough for my cock,” Bronson responds, and straightened up on his seat. “When are we leaving this boring club? I need to return home. My comfortable bed is calling me right now.”
“We can only leave after you’ve picked a she-wolf from the dance floor. I don’t want my best friend to spend his night in the cold. I have to look out for you,” with my right hand resting over Bronson’s shoulder, my left index finger points at the most beautiful she-wolf on the dance floor. “That hottie over there will be very good for your cock.”
Bronson takes my hand off his shoulder, “Must I be with a she-wolf? What if I want to spend my night alone?” His feet are planted on the floor as he rises.
I hook his arm as he makes an attempt to walk away from me. “Come on, dude! You know I hate it whenever you start acting very boring,” I pull him back on his seat. “I will fetch her over.”
My eyes dart toward my warrior, and just when I make to signal him, Bronson calls my attention. “How did you know her?” he questions.
“Know who?” I bring my gaze to him.
I was fully aware that he wasn’t referring to the she-wolf on the dance floor, but someone else.
Bronson taps twice on my phone screen. The light pops up, and he points at my screensaver. “How did you know Elara? Why is she your screensaver?”
I bend my head to the side. My jaw slightly dropped in shock over Bronson’s statement.
Yeah, Elara is my screensaver, but not for the reason everyone thinks. I don’t even have a tangible reason for making her my screensaver. Just saw her nice picture on the internet, the day I decided to snoop around. I felt it wasn’t a bad idea to have something nice. So it’s no big deal.
Picking up my phone from the bar stand, and taking a look at Elara’s photo. Like it was my first time seeing her. “How do you know, Elara?” I asked Bronson.
He hesitates before giving me a response. “How I know her is a long explanation. But something is for sure, you need to be very far away from her,” the seriousness in his voice made my head lean even more to the side.
Right now, I’m so drawn into his words, and I want to hear his reason for asking me to stay away from Elara.
