“Alright, Mr. Walters.”
The driver drove directly to the Dreamview Hotel.
After the car stopped, Ulric slowly opened his eyes and got out of the car.
He glanced at the hotel in front of him. The decoration at the entrance looked decent, but the size of the place indicated it wasn’t a high-end star-rated hotel.
“Mr. Walters, do you need me to take your luggage up for you?” The driver looked at the suitcase, which wasn’t large and seemed to contain only a few clothes.
“No need.” Ulric picked it up himself and started walking forward.
Suddenly, a little girl shouted at the hotel entrance, “Mommy!”
Normally, Ulric didn’t have much feeling towards children. He didn’t dislike them, but he didn’t particularly like them either. However, today he was drawn by the tender voice.
Looking in that direction, he saw a little girl who appeared to be two or three years old. She had a small ponytail on top of her head that swayed adorably with her movements.
The little girl had her back to him, and he could only vaguely see her side profile, which looked plump and cute like a little bun.
Ulric glanced around her but didn’t see any accompanying adults and wondered who she was calling for.
He hesitated for a moment but was too tired, so he carried his luggage inside.
Outside, Floyd pouted and kept looking at the hotel entrance, waiting for her parents who were late.
“Mommy! Aunt Tilda, come out quickly!”
After a while, Tilda came running over, picked Floyd up, and kissed her cheek. “Shh, don’t rush your mommy! She has some urgent work to handle on the phone. Aunt Tilda will take you out to buy some treats while we wait for her, okay?”
“Okay!” Floyd nodded obediently, wrapping her chubby arms around Tilda’s neck. “Aunt Tilda, I just saw a really tall uncle!”
“Really? Then Floyd should grow up to be really tall too, okay?”
“Yes!” Floyd nodded vigorously, still looking in the direction where Ulric had left. “That uncle was really, really tall!”
Tilda glanced instinctively but saw no one.
She assumed Floyd had seen a tall man and found it interesting, not thinking much of it.
“Alright then, I’ll take you to the supermarket now. We’ll take a quick look around, and your mommy should be done by then. Then we can go to the night market!”
“Yay! I want to buy a lollipop.”
“… You can only have one. Let’s finish it quickly while your mommy isn’t here.”
Tilda was most afraid of Floyd’s pouting.
As soon as she blinked those big eyes, Tilda would almost immediately agree to her requests.

Ulric took the elevator to the executive suite Cedric had booked for him.
Although it wasn’t as luxurious as a star-rated hotel, it was clean and tidy! Ulric knew this was definitely Cedric’s doing.
Having been with him for so many years, Cedric knew his preferences well, paying attention to details like a female secretary would.
After taking a shower, Ulric saw that Cedric had called him.
He called back while using the remote control to open the curtains of the floor-to-ceiling window.
“Mr. Walters, are you comfortable there? Do you need me to contact the hotel manager to improve any facilities?”
“No need. This time I came to Wayer City mainly to find some peace.”
He didn’t want to make a big deal out of it and attract unnecessary attention.
“Understood.”
“Are there any recommended places here?” Ulric poured himself a glass of red wine and took a few sips. “Somewhere with good food or nice scenery.”
“Mr. Walters, Wayer City has a night market!”
