Intimidating a newcomer like this was quite easy.
“Call that resident now and tell him we’ve changed the design plans. Whether he moves or not doesn’t matter anymore,” Rosalind glanced at her phone and instructed her to make the call in front of her.
Although she had already scared her enough, she needed to ensure everything was foolproof to avoid any complications.
Elsie hesitated, looking troubled.
“He… he’s very fierce. He’ll definitely yell at me!”
“Well, you can choose between the company suing you for compensation or him yelling at you,” Rosalind shrugged, spreading her hands.
She wasn’t negotiating with Elsie.
“Isn’t there another way? If I say that, he’ll definitely think I’m tricking him! He might retaliate against me later.”
“You’re an adult and need to take responsibility for your actions, right?” Rosalind said, standing up and opening the hotel door. “Since you’re unwilling and want to bargain with me, let’s forget it. I’ll let the company handle it normally; their legal department should contact you in a few days.”
Finally, she added, “Take care.”
At this point, Elsie didn’t dare to say anything else and quickly waved her hands.
“I’ll call! I’ll call now, just don’t sue me!”
She hurriedly took out her phone and dialed the number. After the call connected, Rosalind gave her a look, signaling her to put it on speakerphone.
She needed to hear the conversation clearly.
The call was quickly answered by a man who sounded displeased, “What’s going on? Didn’t you say the design plan was fine? Now some woman is saying you’ve changed the design and it doesn’t matter if my house gets demolished or not!”
Elsie bit her lip, clearly nervous.
“I… I didn’t expect things to turn out this way! But yes, the design has been changed.”
“What? Really?” The man raised his voice. “Are you trying to screw me over? That woman offered me a million dollars, and I didn’t agree! If this messes up, you’ll have to compensate me!”
Elsie looked at Rosalind for help.
Rosalind just raised an eyebrow, signaling Elsie to continue.
“Why don’t you just agree? A million dollars is a lot.”
“Now they probably won’t even offer me that much! Are you being threatened?” The man wasn’t stupid; he sensed something was off in Elsie’s tone today.
“I’m just afraid you’ll yell at me. Anyway, I’ve told you the situation. The company is indeed changing the design. If they still offer you a million dollars, just agree!”
With that, Elsie hung up the phone.
It was clear she was genuinely scared.
“Miss Ruell, I’ve done as you asked. Can you let me go now? Does Mr. Wong know about this?”
“What do you think?” Rosalind replied. “You’re young; focus on improving yourself instead of resorting to underhanded tactics! I’ll put in a good word for you since agreeing to the demolition is like making amends. But I can’t interfere with how they’ll handle you specifically.”
“Will I need to pay compensation?”
Elsie asked cautiously.
“I don’t know,” Rosalind replied just as Mr. Wong’s call came through.
She answered, and his cheerful voice said, “The stubborn resident suddenly agreed! You really resolved this issue. Do you have time now? Let’s head to the site; the investors are coming over too.”
